If you like the bow try the recurve bow. It’s a flatter shot with much less arrow drop

Better quality house --> higher mood values --> better productivity. Also, internal decorations give extra positive mood. You can place up to 10 for max effect from them (1 pt per piece).

Something to consider when laying out buildings if you want to line them up, if you place the road first, that can be your lateral boundary. It's also worth knowing that farm fields always align to cardinal directions, so if you lay out a N/S or E/W road, you can plant your fields perfectly (nice if you later decide to build fences along the roads). Very good videos. I took inspiration from you and built my settlement at the waterfall too.

You should be keeping you food in the food storage building it doesnt spoil as quick in there. Also when you look at an item in the bottom it tells your which storage it should go in (resource/food). Its important to keep things in the right spot so your villagers can use them.

That poor donkey! Two points. Dont forget to insulate your houses. This increases happiness and reduces the amount of firewood that household uses. Also I have no objection to fast crafting, it makes sense for videos. The argument against fast crafting is that all of these tasks can be automated and leaving fast crafting off is the incentive to automate. . Eg, It took a while so sort out (but that is the fun) and I now have animal feed automated. I have two fields, one each for rye and oats, farmers looking after all aspects of the farming from field prep to harvest, then barn workers processing the grain and making the feed, I even have the tools (hoe, bag etc) production automated from resource extraction to creation. The last part is the worker in each animal husbandry building keeps the feed full in each pen if there is feed in the resource storage. So as long is the workers are making it faster than the animals can eat it then each animal building stays full of feed. Sure you can run around and do all this manually, but for me that fun is in automating it. I can then use my time to increase dynasty rating so I can keep expanding, building and upgrading. Oh, I worked out just yesterday that when you unlock a new version of a building (hunting lodge II as an eg) you can just upgrade the existing building rather than destroying and rebuilding from scratch. This does unassign workers, but it does not take long to reassign.

I know you got the creek in the back but a well in front of the homes and a wash bowls between the houses would be a good visual. This is a great safety spot

Fast crafting is the way to go.. Imagine making linen thread out of 1500 flax stalk. Zzzzz. It would be very boring. I don't think anyone should mind that. It just helps the video have a better pace. Great job!

You can definitely build a fishing hut next to the bridge in front of the mine, where you are planning to put your house.

I'm watching the series since episode one, amazing content, please keep up the good work! In traditional agricultural communities the smaller livestock (birds, pigs, goats, etc) live in buildings near or directly under the human living quarters. A chicken coup or a swine sty in the neighbourhood would bring a bit of realism to your build and would also liven it up a bit.

Love the series! You are building right were I did:) i built houses and farms on the side your storage is, and built all production, excavation etc on the side with cave:) great spot! The croasbow is a great item and buy iron bolts to hunt:) also the mine gives lots of stone. Build houses with stone walls:)

I bought the game on the 26th after deciding to pull the trigger from watching your playthrough. I've already sunk 24 hours into it, I can't put it down. Finding that spot by the waterfall was perfect and I'll eventually be migrating over to that place too.

I got a bird trap very early on. Haven't even attempted to hunt really, have just had meat off that and the rabbit trap and its kept me fed in meat terms through 18 months (and a villager through 12 months). Just got a 2nd villager who is hunting for us so things are better now, but in that early game, I think its worth spending to unlock the bird traps - and keep rebuilding them! (can confirm, btw, Kysen that you get hunting points through them - I've not hunted anything, but getting them through these traps.)

Double check your storages. The items will say which storage they go in. Bowls go in the resource storage not food storage - or are you doing that on purpose? Tip since you're now using fast crafting: if you want to delay unlimited weight you can drop the item and then pick it up to "float" infront of you to carry it. Doesn't seem to work for everything but it is part of the decorating mechanics. For game settings just do what you want. Have fun.

beware the pitfalls of fast crafting, my wife burned through all her planks making thousands of buckets because she had quick crafting on so it only took a few seconds for it to process all the wood (which was a mistake) if you don't have quick crafting turned on you can see how long it would take to craft thousands of buckets and realize that you didn't mean to make that many and you can cancel after the first few.

I find it more efficient to use the scythe in 3rd person mode. Can kind of guide it to get a larger area and not miss some

Farming tools lose durability per square, I believe it's 1 durability per square as a default. As for Fish, I experimented with it a bit and while the Pike produces the most Fish Meat per durability point of Fishing Spears and Knives, the Roach is best for sheer Volume of Fish Meat because your Fishers can catch far more of them and it's not even close, however you'll burn through Fishing Spears and Knives with Roach.
