I usually wouldn't even acknowledge the existence of a BR but ever since watching Naraka in it's earliest years when the devs were showing off combat as well as the announcement trailer I think it was all those years ago it just stuck with me. Combat - HUGE ✅ So much mechanical depth ranging from being able to feint out attacks, to making use of various cancels, and not to mention the advanced combos you can practice. Huge sucker for games with great melee. Love how the defense play is detailed with same attacks clashing, being able to duck to beat a horizontal swing and verticals beating jumps and ducking Movement - fan fuckin tastic and fairly responsive with all the flair you'd expect from a Wuxia inspired eastern game. You got your wall runs, being able to start crawling along the ceiling, jumping from tree, to wall, to roof, in a snap and even being able to dodge while hanging from a ledge is super cool and then being able to quick fall and grapple on top of all that and advanced movement tech. PvE - HUGE ✅ but it being limited sucks but it's whatever I guess. Bot mode - allowing you to experience the main BR mode without the pressure of other people around so you can play some quick games or practice in peace and get some progression. Death match mode - free from the one stock and done mechanic so you can fight others to your heart is full and timer is empty Bloodsport - able to one v one duel others without the pressure of gank squadrons or too much chaos The game is rated E for Everyone with its content distribution and that's why it earns my attention. Also a minor thing I appreciate how it does not have you just dropping out of the sky I never liked that it feels like such a drag in other brs since you teleport in Naraka it feels so much more snappy and to the point which gets matches moving more fluidly helps that the animation is pretty striking as well.

I had a friend introduce this game to me a little over 2 years ago and aside from a few breaks I've been playing it ever since. Going F2P and coming to PS is exactly what this game needed. I look forward to many more of my favorite content creators discovering this game bevause it is truly unique in its combat. F2P just gets new players like you in the door, but the game, as you saw, will speak for itself.

Man, people really do hate the Chinese. Naraka is pretty much best possible combination of Souls PvP and fighting games (a bit of FPS as side arms too). The meaningfully different combat options and balance is so well done that I don't see a better competitor come out any time soon, so it's sad if it fails in the west just because it comes from China.

I mean it's also a battle royale game which is a wildly different style than most Soulsborne players are used to or potentially interested in at all. I would absolutely play this game if it were single-player because it looks sick but I have no interest in games that are 100% multiplayer-focused

I've had this game since release and honestly stopped playing shortly after. At the time there were a lot of Chinese players on the NA servers which caused it to be unplayable. They were lagging so much you couldn't parry if you needed to so they just won the fights. No idea if it's better or not since I have not played in a while.

Even with my apprehension of battle royals i wanted to try it out but it comes with chinese spyware, Neacsafe (it's also the anti cheat). Though i don't have anything to hide from Poo beari simply can't condone shit like this, same with Vanguard (Valorant's anti cheat though that's even worse because it has kernel level access....).

How is the game monetized? I read about the need to disable HVCI and the "CCP wants your data" vs "all pro gamers disable it anyway, just don't do any online shopping on that computer". Tha game having 60 % approval rating on Steam leaves me with a lot of questions.

What Naraka is trying to do is its trying to install a kernel-level anti-cheat so players can't use hacks. Hacks also exists in the game. People with auto parries, teleport hacks, and parry bypass. I played the game for a long time now and nothing happened so far. Some of the best players in NA like pastdue, c7sper didn't complained once of having data privacy issues. So, I think its safe.

I love the game BUTT The 20mil+ players everyone mentions is mostly is their Chinese playerbase, Na etc is a fraction of that like under around 500k, Most of your games (prob not as much casual atm) will be either bots, high ranked vets because any rank can play with and vs any rank, or Chinese with vpns. So aka you WILL be stomped being you, you're set back in chr power and skill. If you can get past it and the other flaws, it honestly is enjoyable and the character creator is AMAZING. Also their ranked is a joke because the low amount of people n high amount of bots, like most xbox players farmed bot lobbies to high rank. And to me Combat isnt as good as people praise, it's nice, it has alot of potential but sadly It's mostly just spam or infinite combos that shouldnt be in the game from people, learn to party and you'll win most fight very easily against anyone who isnt a vet. But if you've made it this far you must some what give a shit about my opinion so ya even though I'm hard on it, I like it alot, and I Do want it to succeed, they're slow and make stupid choices but VERY recently like this F2P update recently out of their 2 years they're finally FIXING shit and announced more to help actually make combat fun and skilled. Join up, tell your friends the more people join the less bots there will be and the less any rank can play with any rank you'll see since we, which will be amazing and as much of mixed faith I have in them I feel like they're finally going on a good direction
