I LOVE that you use your feet! I too am a proponent of foot tension! I also am incredibly excited about this ensemble 😍

Thank you! I was trying to figure out how to make a longer braid, and now I know how! Obviously, this has been Saved.

Nice instructions, and I like the shrinkage formula.

Love it! Thank you for such clear instructions. I am working on an historical inspired Merida dress (from the disney movie Brave) and it also involves spiral lacing in my kirtle at the front. Bye bye polyester shoelaces, hello handwoven cording lace 🥰🥰🥰

Thank you so much! Eyelets are always a detail I think takes so long but pays off well!

@@DaisyViktoria based on your examples, I am inclined to agree. Also, inspired to practice

I followed this video and made a beautiful cord! I will say, I tried it sitting down but I wasn’t quite tall enough for the length of cord I needed. I tried it standing up and was able to get much better tension and a much longer cord. It was rough standing for an hour and a half 😅 but fellow short people out there might benefit from this tip!

I love what the colors ended up doing in your cord. perfectly fits that dress

Right? It's so cool that way! I've made so many cords and never even thought to do that before!

man, all those eyelets must have taken a lifetime to do! The cord looks *amazing* tho, and even though I don't need one at all I will be trying to braid one myself. Reminds me a little bit of when as a child I would try with friendship bracelets -- I would secure the threads to the leg of my jeans with a safety pin so they wouldn't move around, or I would tape them to the kitchen countertop with heavy duty painters tape. You gotta do what you gotta do! :D

Aw thank you! It's such a fun detail to add and can be pretty quick to make them once you get the hang of it!

This makes me think of kumihimo braiding a little bit - tension is provided by a disc with notches in it that hold the strings as you rotate them. This is definitely something I have to try!

Very pretty pink and neat cord making 💕 And she does...tries math even if with phone help!
