Oh! also for the LotR reference earlier, back to your home, in particular south of St Albans (very easily accessible from London), there is a lovely footpath that matches the film even more, plus it is in the author's home turf. And visited in autumn to have all different tree leaves make it colourful red/yellow, and with less "traffic", you will also get a leaf carpet, even though that will be against the book's visual, since it was early summer and everything was green, humid and mossy :D

Thanks so much! That sounds lovely! Could you link it please? Southern England is the one place we have not seen much of, and have been meaning to!

We just got back! Great video. We didnt walk there(!) but there are some drives (not the 'main' roads) that take you through scenic countryside with views. We stayed at a lovely B&B just outside the city; as we left we bought a couple of bottles of wine from our hosts.. Imagine my pleasant sutprise when i saw you visit Cesani Winery.

Thanks so much! Glad you could experience some of the hills. Love Cesani! haha

Un altro bel video! Amo San Gimignano.

Folks, considering this and my hometown's video (Thessaloniki), I think that you should start considering Carcassone in France (easy access but quite touristy, although smack in the centre of the Albigensian crusade), Veliko Tarnovo in Bulgaria and the fortified churches of Transylvania... I did the crusade part, which was easy this year, doing the later two next myself... after I am going to have a drink watching the bay from the old roman/byzantines walls next to my home at night ;)

Thanks so much! We have been meaning to one day go to France! Fortified churches sounds really cool.... Thessaloniki is such a cool city!

That view from the tower is amazing. Makes me want to start planning my next European trip even though I'm still a month out from my first European trip!

Hey great video I have two questions firstly is there a train station near by the city Secondly can you keep your luggage in some locker in the city
@NearFromHome Жыл бұрын
There isn't a train station near the town, but there are buses. I don't know about lockers, but hotels will usually let you leave you bags for a small fee.
@kcrossleKMC Жыл бұрын
The train station is in Poggibonsi (sp?) About 10-15 min down the road. Search for taxi into SanG.

Peeps, I am fairly certain that there is a fairly frequent train close by from florence on the way to siena, and a bus or cab to get uphill from the train station... unless the hike was part of the experience from AC :p
@NearFromHome2 ай бұрын
The hike was part of the video series where we went from San Miniato to Sienna entirely by foot. San Gimignano was just a stop along the way :)

I love your videos, but please try to be understanding of people travelling in different ways. If I didn't have a wheeled suitcase, I wouldn't be able to travel because my back is too bad to carry a backpack.

Yes, we totally understand people with outlier conditions. Totally makes sense. No hate there.
