So you been to Kelheim and missed the big fat hall on the mountain? It’s called „Befreiungshalle“ or Liberation hall (napoleonisch wars) and is together with the Valhalla one of the major landmarks in this area.

Eh. It didn’t capture my interest so I skipped it. I also skipped Valhalla too. 😂

We have several close friends as well as distant relatives who live in Germany. Our all time favorite time for travel to Germany is September through October; the fall colors are beautiful, the summer crowds are gone, and the flights tend to be cheaper. The next best option is to go mid November through mid December and visit the Christmas markets.

I agree! I also like the spring, but it tends to be cold and rainy.

What a strange title and also the video... If you had chosen Hallstatt, for example (certainly enchanting to look at - among thousands of other tourists), I would have understood. 🤷♂️

It's called Krčma. I think there are two restaurants in Prague by that name, so look at the pictures on google maps to make sure you have the right one!

Unless you are very interested in WWII history, we generally advise other views in Bavaria, as they are close to Munich, accessible by public transit, and less crowded. We really like the Zarwendelspitze, Zugspitze, Herzogstand, and Rottach-Egern. If you really like the WWII angle, you need to rent a car, and plan in advance, as it is crowded!
@yezkaholic8 күн бұрын
@NearFromHome thank you for that tip, I was under the impression it was accessible by public transport.
@eureart9 күн бұрын
We do not feel that you meant to recommend Innsbruck upon arrival . Your negative visit and complaintative review are a result of your planning. Just like there is much more to the Innsbruck Altstadt than the "One Street" that you mentioned, there is more to Innsbruck than the Altstadt and Norkettebahn. There are many other streets inside the old city wall to wander. There are the beautiful cathedral, one of the largest folkart museums in the region, the Hofburg Palace, and the music halls. There are incredible music events. That is not to mention spectacular hiking upon the mountain within steps of the Altstadt, sporting events of all type, etc . After recognizing the beginning of holiday light show going up when you were in the Hofgarten, it is clear that you visited in the weeks just before a beautiful snowfall and when the peaks are their most beautiful. You visited the peak at the most crowded time. You missed the beautiful Christmas markets. Also, the "No climbing" restricted tree in the Hofgarten is fragile, centuries-old specimen that is known to be fragile. It was planted by a Hofburg ruler and protected by the Austrian government. Rather than put it behind an ugly fence, they simply ask for respect from visitors. We feel that you "oversold" familiar Hall in Tirol in your separate video. Their Altstadt is beautiful but merely different and no more charming than the Altstadt in Innsbruck, the former home of Habsburg Emperors. Hall may be explored for several hours before it becomes boring and repetitive, in our experience. Clearly, your review triggered me and we obviously will not be subscribing after having the unpleasant taste. That's unfortunate because we absolutely love youtube travel blogs and were interested in some of the other videos that you mentioned. As a local, I feel that your review is contradictory with visit Innsbruck/skip Innsbruck and it is unfortunate that you missed ao much. While you did take responsibility for your itinerary decisions and dissatisfaction, you were also surrounded by peope who were enjoying themselves and you shouldnt strip them of their experiences with your clickbait-style negative title. We live in the Innsbruck Altstadt on a first floor and countless happy visitors pass below our windows daily. I only write all of this in defense of our beautiful little city. Last thing is a suggestion /correction with your presentation...word choice. To state that this-and-that along your tour are, "Free," is somewhat misleading. They are not free, but included, when you purchase an Innsbruck visitors card. Nothing that you were doing was free, only discounted. That card costs €70 +/-.
@NearFromHome9 күн бұрын
I’m sorry you didn’t like the video. However, I hope you treat all other vloggers who come to your wonderful city, do the tourist traps, yet leave happy the same as me though. Because at the end of the day my job is to be a guide. It is to have an opinion and not just say everything is nice. Though perhaps I was not clear enough. Let me try and sum it up better. I think people should skip Innsbruck if they are merely going to do the basic and boring itinerary that I copied from everyone else. Unless you plan on doing more than I did, you should skip it. What I do know is that Innsbruck is suffering from over tourism. Those streets are clogged, and in my opinion for no good reason. I’ve seen people spend a lot of money and a lot of time to divert their travels to Innsbruck merely to do the tourist track because they saw a bunch of happy go lucky nitwits have a nice time in a nice place, but I don’t think that alone is worth it. I would love to come back and do more in the area though. To make the videos in Innsbruck that I’d like to make. More videos like Hall, and really showing people what your city had to offer. But I’m not a full time traveler. I don’t make any money from this. I have a 60 hour a week normal job I do on top of this. I spend all my weekends and a lot of money making the guides I wish I could watch because I want to help people. I had one weekend and a limited budget so I made a negative video and positive video to tactically use my money and time wisely. I wanted to tell the two most important opinions I have. If the videos do well and grow the channel then I’ll do more. I want this to be my job. I’d love to only have one. But until then strategy is part of the content I produce. At the end of the day, you did click the thumbnail, watch the video, and engage with me in the comments. Not to mention then watch my next video. So I did do my job and I hope it helps someone. I hope someone on the fence decides to skip Innsbruck. I hope someone who is coming to Innsbruck realises they need to do more than the tourist traps to have a good time. Anyone else, who would come here and do what I did yet still enjoy it anyway? Well I’m genuinely happy for them of course. It’s a shame you won’t subscribe. Passionate fans who care about travel are the true and perhaps only joy from this project.

Hey guys, this festival looks incredible and definitely one I want to hit on my next trip to Germany. My wife and I went to Oktoberfest last September and really enjoyed it, though the crowds and int'l tourists were a bit much. This one looks like it focuses on the old traditions like the Oide Weisn does. Do you need reservations at the tents here?
@NearFromHome12 күн бұрын
We have only been on the weekends during the day, and never needed reservations. I think it might be different at night though. There are also SO many other beer festivals like this. If this one doesn't work out, basically every town has their own.

@ great thank you! I watched your video on Weilheim and that one also looks fun. Are there any others in the southern part of Bavaria you would recommend? I’m also looking at the Stuttgart Spring Fest. Ever go to that one?

@@justinanderson2129 I haven't been to the festival in Stuttgart, but the city is quite large, so I don't think you will get the small village feeling there. We also love the almabtriebs! We absolutely miss Germany, and this video isn't helping. I'd like to transport you there right now. Oh! I forgot to mention that I have a marketing strategy for you. You NEED to sell T-shirts. You know what they need to say right? "I'm on a DAMN good walk." or something like that. Of course, they need to be understated and vintage cool European-looking. One color only (maybe Camille's favorite 1960 green, so that fellow followers can spot one another. I can't tell you how many times my husband and I looked at one another and said "damn good walk".
