That would indeed be great. So you think it was custom-made for each horse, or rather stock items in different sizes? I really wonder, as knights had more than one destrier at their disposal? Which would be logistically a nightmare to carry several sets of horse armour? Maybe you could go a bit more in detail? Have you ever seen full horse barding in use nowadays?

Mr. Dibbs is such a fine horse in his lines and deportment; that coat - ! Mon dieu, it's as glossy as a bowl of plums. I thoroughly enjoyed your interaction with that grand horse. I think you're quite right about the saddle proximity to his crest. The saddle itself is exquisite. There's certainly something to be said about custom-made items; yes, expensive, but the workmanship and detail poured into many of those items can still be enjoyed to this day. There are some wonderful examples of 15th & 16th century saddles in the Wallace Collection. Thank you so much for another delightful episode, and I hope we see more of Mr. Dibbs (although all of your horses are handsome creatures and with distinct personalities!). Have you any horses - a Paso Fino, for instance - trained to amble? It would be lovely to see you demonstrate this in addition to the warhorses. As a knight, I feel sure that you should have some amblers as well as destriers.

Another beautiful horse! It's fascinating to see how physical historical designs, like this saddle, reflect both the technology and social organization of their times. I love how you mentioned that the saddle adjustments presuppose that you've got a crew of servants to control the horse and adjust the fittings to the situation you're in. The role of squires and pages in supporting a knight in the field becomes so much clearer when you see the gear they were working with. Thanks so much for this video!

About an energetic stallion. Dad had an oval swimming pool constructed that had an island so the horse had to swim in a padded lane, he would stand in the center of the pool to lead the horse and motivate it to swim. It didn’t take long to get the horses to tire and become somewhat less difficult to work with. It was also a great therapeutic tool.

I know exactly how much concentration a spirited horse needs. He's very well mannered and and he is listening.

Wondering what breed the stallion is - Andalusian? He's certainly gorgeous, and well trained even if he is feisty. You have a really good seat, and the horse has confidence in you, probably because you're so kind.

Love your channel. Amazing content. Can you do a video about bits? I always see you riding in some sort of leverage bit. It would be great to learn about medieval bits and how they have varied over the years.

What a beautiful horse! Mr Dibbs? Haha, brilliant name! I thought I saw Gossamer-but-not-quite for a moment as you walked him in. Beautiful saddle! I wasn't expecting a medieval saddle on a horse we haven't seen you use as a knight's horse before. Am I right in assuming then, that we are going to see more of him as Knight Jasons's noble steed? Gossamer's and Warlords saddles are 15th century, aren't they? Could you explain the difference in the future and how the saddlemaker figured out what they looked like? And that blue saddle I saw, to which horse does that belong? I might be mistaken, but I think I've never seen that before?

Mr. Dibbs is beautiful. You said he's a breeding stallion. Could you let me know what types of mares are covered by Mr. Dibbs. I love his fire and attitude. He looks like a very fun horse to work with. He reminds me of my black stallion his head was very refined, he was part Arabian and pure black like Mr. Dibbs. His name was Black Smoke, Black for short. I wish I could have a colt or filly by him. But it's probably impossible.

He's usually used to cover PRE mars as he's very high graded, one of only two indelo blacks in the world apparently. He's getting on a bit now but still covering. we've also used him over a shire mare to breed Talos and a fresian mare to get Gossamer who is a warlander.

As someone who has never had anything to do with horses, I didn’t realize there was so many complexities with something as seemingly simple as a saddle, especially one used in the 14th century, the sheer amount of work it would have been to own and care for a horse back then is mind boggling
