The clue is in the title! These pieces from this period have no known composer, a few remain because a simple form of notation was used mainly by monks for plainsong. It is then up to players to interpret the music.

This tune, as I concern, was in a 1973 albun of Gryphon (English Group of "Rock Ancient Music"). Nice to hear the original melody and rhythm. You are a great harpist, congratulations !!!

This is a genuine 13th Century tune, and its my arrangement for harp. We have no idea what instruments would have originally played it, or what the arrangements would have been like. But the rythym and nature of the melody, makes an arrangement like this seem quite appropriate for a dance, and there is no reason to believe that medieval music wasnt lively and complicated - many of the dance tunes are quite complicated by modern standards!
