Hi nigel...@ 3 min. 40, what you said was a button..get it cleaned and have another look..it has the look of a Roman Disc Brooch, not definite but i got one and i too thought it was a button, what a stunning find that ring is btw, a very good hunt my friend, take care... GL&HH Gordon.
