I remember the "I am brett" episode 😂. I also remember telling you I had a Lambretta LI 150 scooter in the 60s. I was shouting at the TV at the time 😂. I will definitely try and get a t shirt ❤.
@medievalladybird3946 ай бұрын
I think there were quite a few of us shouting at the screen 😂 What I still haven't found out, is why I recognized the sign in the first place. My siblings are quite adamant that our father never owned a Lambretta, but had only a Zündapp Bella. This was in the late fifties. And I was as proud as Punch when father fetched me from school on his scooter.

That is definitely an American Eagle for a military Service, but I'm not well versed in the service buttons for WWII.
@douglassiemens42456 ай бұрын
The eagle button is from the U.S. Military, and from my research, seems to be from the army in World War I, so the same time line as the French flag bearer figure. The U.S. Army had similar styled buttons in both world wars (I remember seeing eagle buttons on my father's WW II uniform), but the brass from which they were made was a little different between wars. The WW I had the color more similar to what you found, while the WWII button took on a slightly different patina. And I laughed at the I am Brett shirt because I recalled the episode immediately. An all time classic moment in mudlark history!

When you first exclaimed “Percy!” I instantly thought of Thomas the Tank Engine’s little green best friend 😊 I thought I saw a coin in the top right corner of the screen as you were putting Percy in your bag, but it was so obvious and you’re so good at spotting the most hard-to-see / camouflaged things I thought it must have been just a bit of stuff. There were quite a few bits and pieces in that spot I’d’ve loved to pick up and examine though! I clocked your I am Brett t-shirt straight away and had a good chuckle. Simon is so sweet, such a good sport - nearly as gorgeous as you 😊 Your videography is such a treat to watch, I love this one in particular, the way you frame the patterns under the bridges etc. And the fun faces you pop in - I love that you take the time to make them for us, it shows how you’re really thinking about your viewers while you’re filming. I enjoyed reading "I am Brett" more on Nicola's contours than on Simon's, but I am glad that Simon realised the importance of the Cormorant when designing the logo. With reference to the bathing pigeons: Because my cats had been drinking out of a big bird bath much frequented by woodpigeons, I tried to avoid any potential conflicts by buying the cats a nice big earthernware dish with a silicone rubber base, so it could sit on a paving stone without wobbling as the cats drank. The blackbirds immediately said "ta, that'll do!" and adopted the cat water dish as *their* bath and the cats, who do not pick fights with the blackbirds and their stabby beaks, went back to the big bird bath. The next thing I knew was a sudden cloud of pigeon-feathers! I am being called away by a distant meowing coming through an open window...
@divaden476 ай бұрын
Ah, this is so cool! Such a great story!! Literally!! My bird bath water is usually sullied by the Magpies dropping in clumps of bread to soften it, and then leaving the majority of it behind so rendering it useless for bathing!! I don't imagine my PIggies (my flock nickname) fancy getting soggy bread in their wings!!
@matthewspencer50866 ай бұрын
@@divaden47 There used to be a pair of crows living near "Longholme" on the river Ouse in the middle of Bedford, and they used to drop little bits of bread (stolen from the swans and geese) in a little pool that had formed behind a gap in the steel reinforcements securing the river bank. Minnows would swim up to eat the bread, and the crows would catch and eat the minnows! The River Authority spoilt the fun by replacing all the old steel piles, though.
