What i dont understand is the ending where skeletons battled. How your allied skeletons endured the battle? I remember having a weapon that will transfer your health to them so they can last.

He use a glitch with the select button, it make the game bug, and many ennemy don't appear, so your soldier are more than the opponent, and you don't need to use the health transfert weapon

i can charge an attack while i'm waiting for it to be vulnerable, so i get more damage than if i waited and just shot the crossbow

'Cause he needs to prep himself and get into position in able to land directly where the skull key will fall to save time. To get in the precise postion, he must make two jumps from the wall and while in mid air during these jumps he must also attack so the target is hit. The knife is good for closer ranged attacks versus the crossbow which excels at long range. He waited until the stained glass demon was down to 7hp and then switched to the knife to allow himself 2 jumps before the boss would be defeated as it took 2 hits with the knife (7hp to 1hp to defeat). If he used the crossbow that 7hp would be cleared with one shot as the crossbow deals 8 damage per arrow and he would miss the opportunity to jump twice in order to directly position himself under where the key falls to save time. It allowed him to jump into the direct position the skull key falls so he collects it immediately thus saving a huge chunk of time.

basically it's where i was compared to my previous time of 1:30:25. if when i started the timer that old run started at the same time, it's indicating how i'm comparing to it. like -18 means i got to that point 18 seconds before the old run did. and +14 means the old run was there 14 seconds ago. it's how much time i've saved or how far i've fallen behind. kind of like a race

I'm a little confused how this could be considered 100%. After getting the hammer, he never once stayed in the hall of heroes. only 5 life potions, and nowhere near all the weapons.

We don't have to claim all the chalice rewards in order to get the 100% ending. It's only required to get all the chalices. Check out the max% category if you want to see how the run looks when you have every weapon available

Geordan Gullock oh, that isn't how it works using this glitch you can avoid hitting the trigger that would kill you when you fall and so you can fall under the level and eventually when you go far down enough you will reappear at the top, letting you fall back into the level at where you want to go. it can be done in any place where you can die by falling

@@FatMan2539 Sorry for necroing a 6 year old comment on an 8 year old comment :V but I do believe that the phrase "100%", in the context of speedrunning, means "do and/or get 100% of the things that are *required* for the game to be considered "fully beaten" by its own standards." By the context of MediEvil's own internal standards, there is zero functional difference between getting all the chalices vs getting all the rewards/health bottles. The game will still *functionally* be the same amount of "beat" as far as the game *itself* is concerned. By getting all the loot, you aren't given any indication by the game that this has been accomplished (no cutscene, no grade, no rating, no fanfare, no congratulations; nothing). In either case, whether you get all the loot or not, the good ending is the only functional difference, and you have 100% beaten the game by the game's own internal metrics, design, and presentation. By *human* standards, though, we obviously have conscious awareness as to whether or not 100% of the things that are *possible* to do and/or get have been accomplished, and that's where max% comes in. Max% is doing or getting 100% of everything that's *possible* to do or get while being meaningful in some substantive way (gold sacks, gold boxes, duplicate shields, and whatnot, for example, are not really considered "meaningful" in any substantive way by literally anyone), regardless of the game's internal standards, design, presentation, and mechanisms. And, if doing all of the required things is all it takes for the game to consider itself and present itself as "fully beaten", then doing all the things that are *possible beyond* that is clearly more than 100% of what's required by definition. Hence, "max%". If you wanna be extremely pedantic about it, you could probably math out what that maximum percentage number would be, but that would be silly, and different for every game, and so effectively useless as a universal term.
