Not as big of a deal as you would think. I just went though a similar situation. But worse. My ex/bm, I just found out last week that she was making our 8 year old daughter share a bed with her and her boyfriend because she nor him have their own place or beds. Keep in mind, i don't even know her BFs name. So my child is forced to sleep in bed with them, a complete stranger. You think CPS cared? Nope. Not even a little. After i paid for a 264 dollar consultation i was basically told that the issue wouldn't even be screened. They then proceeded to direct me to "reading" material and information available at the public library that i could read up on, all books that show you how to look for signs ab*** and talking techniques for spotting it. So basically they told me to wait and see how it turns out. Regardless of how i feel as the father, regardless of me actually having a bed for my kid at my house, regardless of the general situation, they didn't care. This is the world we live in.
@AizenShisuke4 күн бұрын
It's more of a risk for the stepdad frankly. This sounds like the third possible marriage she's been in and she has a child with each lover before him. So for those two kids, the stepdad has no authority or power over the kids except what little power mom gives, which is usually none. I bet that relationship is gonna fail too and just like our protag here in this video, he's gonna be put through the ringer and have to break his bonds with his children. 3 whole children since she's pregnant now. For the kids, they deal with the lack of fatherly discipline and care, as step dad cannot do that for them due to Mom. They also deal with the lack of stability that comes with having multiple men in and out of the home, as more than likely her current relationship will end and she'll find a new boyfriend, the kids will grow up with no relations to any of these strange men and it'll start to sow a bit of resentment in their birthparents for not being together

On a side note, he agreed to have her live there until January before he learned she had a lover sleeping in their bed. I'd wage money on that. That's because mom many times is on some sort of welfare for the kids. If the dad, or even step-dad has resources, they'll take from him to keep her off the welfare rolls. Just as in this case, she's living in the home with a new man, getting no money from him, and the kids are on TANF, I believe is what I heard the state's attorney state.
@superdave82482 күн бұрын
@@Mitsurilove_84 In my state, if a woman with children applies for family support, it is the state that applies for child support for her. Family services will take her application, forward all the father's contact and identifying information to child services, and child services will apply for child support on her behalf with the courts. He may or may not get contacted prior to the hearing depending on how accurate his contact information is. Whether he is there at court or not, the court will award her child support. If she provided his income information (such as last year's W2) the court will set it based on his income. If she didn't supply income information and he wasn't there to supply it himself, then the court will assign the bare minimum amount to be paid. So whether she has the kids for 30 minutes or 30 days. It comes down to the same thing. Mom has some custody status with the kids and they stay with her at some point each month. Mom also doesn't have a job or is under employed and needs social assistance. So mom is getting social assistance and child support for the kids.

When our divorce was finalized she got child support until they became adults. (She tried to get alimony but the court said no.) She got to live in the house, BUT she had to pay the mortgage (she thought I was going to pay - lol not a chance) She got to keep the vehicle, but she had to pay the note. She ended up keeping the house but had to relinquish any claim to my retirement. We were only married 10 years and she was pissed because she had to go to work after we split, but she could neve keep a job for longer than a year at a time. I am so glad I divorced her so long ago. The kids need to live in somewhat equitable living environments on a 50/50 custody situation.

So let me get this straight, because this woman refuses to work, uses procreation as a means of income, taxpayers are on the hook- giving her money, and on top of that the father still has to pay the state 1700 a month? What is in the best interest of the children would be for the father, who does work, to have full custody. That would also be in the taxpayers best interest to not have to provide her with support. It is time the courts actually started caring about the best interest of the child and started to be responsible with our tax money as well. When states make it harder to acquire monetary gain from bad behavior, that bad behavior significantly declines. It is advocates like Ms. Powers who don't really care about kids, that cause these problems to be perpetuated into future generations. It has been proven time and time again that when governments allow abuse of the system, people will line up to abuse it.

The state never cares about the father, one time in court the state was trying to raise my support and I told the guy for the state before we went in that I was living ifather's. Barely getting by and was trying to save for an apartment to have my kids stay over and he said "we don't care about you" even my ex couldn't believe he said that. Went in the court room and the judge lowered it by 10 dollars they where trying to get 15 more a week, made a court date all to get 60 more a month my ex didnt ask for because they check themselves every few years. And the crazy part before my case there was 2 others and both those guys were on social security/disability and in that case the state pays the support for them. Think the judge saw i was getting railed. Thank god for good judges because the state officials and the state is set up to screw fathers. Ive also had it where they came after my second job and in my state it's not based on total they can only take it from your highest paying job. They had to send me reimbursement checks til I left that job.
@sixxygrrl5 күн бұрын
The state attorney isn't defending her. They are present ONLY about the child support. That's it. That's all. She is literally there representing the state's interest because Mom is getting cash assistance and food stamps from the welfare office. So the state gets like 30-50% of the child support paid for the benefits she gets.

@justobserving1705 күн бұрын
@@Claudia-lq3ns I agree, most of the time it is because the person without the assets puts a guilt trip on the one that has them. I would say that circumstances dictate the necessity. When I got married, I was 24 and my wife was 23, and we married for love, because we didn't have a pot to pee in. We built our life and assets together as a team. Now at 65, after 40 years of marriage, we have no debt, our house, cars, credit cards, everything is paid off. I am retired and just got my first SS check; my wife still works because she wants to. I would still be working but because of injuries and stage 4 cancer I am unable to do so. My point is that we went into marriage with nothing and earned things as a team so there was no need for a prenup.

@Claudia-lq3ns5 күн бұрын
I think there should be more accountability on how child support is being spent by whichever parent receives it. I think there should be continuous audits, and the payee should have access to those records at any time. If they get it, they have to document and prove that they are using that money strictly for the child. Too many parents (mostly mothers) think that THEY should use CS for themselves because "i take care of the child," and that is 110% false. More accountability for parents receiving child support! Make a dang web app or get a COTS system and make them reconcile every month.

Thankfully I saw a video on YT where a male judge stopped a woman saying that right in her tracks. He stated " You need to stop repeatedly saying " my child " that declares some kind of ownership or possession,thats not the case, this man is the father and so it becomes " our " child and not solely yours, he has rights as a father and your mindset of the boy being just " my child ", is not in the best interests of the child, and violates this fathers rights " I'm paraphrasing but that was the gist of it and it warmed my heart to see a genuine judge seeing through the parent alienation and manipulation attempts from the despicable mother.

I found a new place to live, I didn’t take anything from my marital homes, except my clothing and other personal possessions. Never asked for alimony or support of any kind. And even paid for both divorces. I felt it was my decision to walk away, so it was down to me to do what was necessary to make them a clean break. I don’t understand these women who refuse to work and insist their ex continues to pay for everything. That woman needs to get off her backside and start earning her own money and get over herself!
