Sacrificing a few hundred/thousand lives so that billions (!) could live without evil, without wars that claim far more lives than a notebook, sounds good. Sure, Light had a God complex, but it's a small price to pay compared to the perfect world he wanted to create. I'd rather live in a world where I praise Light in public and he'll remove every sign of degeneration from so-and-so at the snap of a finger, than live as we do today, with masses of illegal immigrants, with politicians who have common people as idiots and reap selfish benefits, and finally with criminals in our midst who r*pe, m*rder, rob with sadistic joy. I heard recently: “But Light takes away freedom because if you do something wrong - you will die.” and good! this always hits me with some kind of nostalgia, loneliness. i cannot say the death note was the best anime serious, but can proudly say that it's one of the best mangas to ever exist. the plot of the manga, the characters, the atmosphere of a true crime case. no doubts - light is one of the loneliness person i've seen in the anime. it's true that he put himself in this situation but with the potential and this mindset he could have won this battle against the world. the only thing was that kira took over light's mind and ruined everything - selfishness, higher ego the hunger for "justice" even tho he didn't know what the word "justice" means. To add one more thing - Light is not the bad guy, kira is.

Death note story is an example that a life full of lies and manipulation wont make you happy. Even if you succeed in your manipulations, you will live a life full of doubts and fears. You will tremble at your own shadow untill your last days. You wont be able to geniuanly smile, to truly love someone. And most importantly, you wont be able to trust anyone. Even if you settle down and start living a normal life, the ghosts of your past will haunt you forever. You will always be suspecious of everyone you hold dear. So is it worth it?

I entered my country's airforce highschool in 2022. I thought I was achieving my dreams. Left that place traumatized. The kid who was once happy and vibrant. I was now hiding. Hiding my tears, my spark on the eyes, my smile. I tried to hide it until this year. I decided to give it another try and entered the firefighters college. On the first day the ghosts I though I had escaped from came back and I broke down. Got out of there too. Now I try to fight those ghosts. I don't think I'll go back to who I was before, but I'm trying to be better. Thing is it is much easier to accomplish things now that I let it happen. I no longer feel disgust, anger, hunger, annoyance. I only feel nuances of happiness, sadness, empitness and, those last days, despair and doubt. I really need help. As I write this I battle against my tears flowing but they do anyways.

But, you don't need to escape them, you need to learn to live with them, obviously, that's a painful and hard path, but in the long therm, is much better than to be running away from your past. Back to the scar analogy, it's like it is still bleeing, it hurts you, but if you learn to live with those scars, they will eventually heal and close, no more bleeding, they might hurt if you touch them, but that's completely normal, they will allways hurt, but if closed, they won't hurt so much...

I feel that this show is a great demonstration of war. Both sides feel as if they're doing the right thing. Light feels he's creating a new and better world, by killing people who are a threat so society. L and the task force see him as an enemy and a serial killer. Lots of people around the world support Kira and his cause, but many others don't. Since we're watching the show through both sides, but I'd say more through the side of L, we are to believe that Kira is bad and should die. Rather, if we had watched the show through just Light's view, we may see Kira as a better person, in which his actions are justified for the sake of mankind. It's all about perspective. I don't think Light nor L are right or wrong in this show, and I believe this is what makes Death Note so brilliant.

I usually avoid listening to this song, as it just accompanies me into my thoughts and doubts deeper. But they need to come out somehow. There is this woman that I love more than anything, an unique pearl that fell into my ocean of boredom and hesitations, made my life blossom anew, a true luxury everyday. I met her on a game, we had fun, and then we talked somewhere else. She lives in Germany, I live in France. In a few days we could discover each other, discuss about topics, it figures that we had a lot in common, same values, sometimes divergent opinions, but the same priorities. We sent each other what we looked like, out of curiosity, I found her pretty, she liked me too, so we talked again. At one point it was obvious that we were attracting each other, I started falling in love, her too, and then we started sending each other sweet messages, hearts, everything you could imagine. There was an obvious obstacle to our relationship and it was the distance, she wanted to come so we started planning it out. Everything was ready, but it was cancelled last minute, figures her mother wouldn't accept that. Now it's a point that's very confusing to me, her family is broken. No father in sight, and her mom describes me as a man that cannot provide anything for her because i'm still studying at 19 (she's 23). She tried a few months after that, cancelled again. Now, it just felt like my efforts were pointless, her mother doesnt want to talk to me, her sister can't help even tho she tried to, I don't have support from my parents if I want to come myself to her, and even if I did, who says her mother wouldn't take me out her appartment ? Her mother even blackmailed her saying that she won't see her nieces if she comes to see me. She wants me to find someone else, because she saw how sad I was when she didn't come(of course she was sad too), she wants me to find someone closer and with a loving family. I don't want to, so I'm still holding on my wishes like a naive optimistic kid. I sometimes imagine her abandoning me, or just finding a guy that's closer and who has money, this is something that's very bad for me, it's a trauma that resurfaces automatically, I was thrown away as a kid. She needs time to think without me, even tho I need her to talk to me. I miss her every second when i don't distract myself with studies or friends, I couldn't even see her once yet, so these past 6 months feel like an absurd joke, like some story about a naive kid who thought he could find love easily. And the worst is that I imagine the whole thing just being a lie, and I don't know how to deal with that. I'm just stuck so I listen to this

Death note was my first anime. It might still be my favorite. I have watched it about 3 or 4 times and read the manga twice. Personally I like the manga more, I think this story reads very well and the manga has slightly more material. But the anime soundtrack is awesome. Amazing video, this track is so simple yet so powerful.

idk if everyone already knew this information and im really slow and the only person who didn't know but i think the reason light's name is light is because light considers the world a 'dark place' full of criminals. light doesn't like this dark place and wants it to be the exact opposite by ridding criminals and being a savior. basically light is the exact opposite of dark and light wanted the exact opposite of this dark place hence his name. (if that makes sense)

honestly.. i support light's idea and beliefs.. i think that eliminating all criminals from the board would decrease the crime rate in any country, the only issue is of course that people would have to die and they're still human. And even if you do get rid of them, the number will eventually increase again since the world population rises exponentially every second...

it doesnt matter however more intelligent you are compared to someone else, how perfect you are, if youre still consumed by these primal desires to become a "god" and superior in some sense. its meaningless until you realise you yourself are true peace already, you just have to see it. Nothing exterior in life, nothing, will get you that perfection or ideal life youre looking for, however successful you get, however more money you make, its meaningless until you know how to live in the here and now, because the greatest satisfaction and peace you can achieve, ever, is right now, within yourself. there are people that out of necessity and desperation go out to become "successful" end up suicidal and lonely, then kill themselves. and there are people that realise that and go on to become successful, but know how to live in the present with yourself, cuz they know nothing exterior and worldly is bigger than you yourself.
