I LOVE that painting Diane. I am so glad you're getting back in your studio. Art is better than therapy. This is Kim KB!

What a pain! Interesting the first four letters of paint is pain! Appreciate your goal of not letting it stop you. Great to see you in studio. Keep on keepin' on!

When I book my ankle I could not use the knee scooter due to the massive amount of NERVE pain associated with a broken ankle, (there are so many nerves, and such a small space and swelling is a dozie.) One thing I underestimated is how much this affected my same side hip, (from not using the ankle or doing leg movements it is still stiff years later and now I'm working on it.) Oh I am so sorry this happened to you. I also remember that it is such a slow, very slow healing. There is not "feeling better" in just a couple of weeks, it takes practically 12 full weeks to start to have that "feeling better" phase. I wish this phase to come to you quickly and for your swelling to be diminished. HUGS. Now I'm going to watch the rest of this video. YOU can get through this and I wonder what the result of this side track will blossom into!! I am edited: When someone saw me struggling to walk into a store, (definitely feeling the burden and questioning my own sense,) a lady said to me, "OH, I broke my ankle once too, I know, people do not understand what this does to you emotionally." It is SO very true, this particular break, affects our emotions. It looks so innocent, a foot in a cast BUT, the amount of pain and restriction in movement is so truly humbly and a bit emotionally crushing. You are not alone, many of us have hobbled in your casts also. It is hopefully a brief time yet, lean fully into the limited capacity, without guilt or shame... Maybe your spouse needed this opportunity to be the here. Remember also that regarding estrogen versus testosterone...Men will get exhausted from caregiving because it releases Oxytocin, (women love it, men feel like a Mack truck hit them.) I learned from the author of Men are from Mars, women from Venus, on his oxytocin studies... Men get rejuvenated feeling like the true hero they are. So, instead of saying thank you to him, try, "you are my hero!!" "I couldn't have done this without you!" "Thank you" "YOU ARE RIGHT!!! with any suggestion he says that you like!!" Trust this will help him rejuvenate and likely help you too, knowing that you are boosting him in a way that may not hav3 happened before. Typos left.

Thank you for sharing your experience. So far the painting isn't too bad. I hope the surgery doesn't make the pain worse. Grateful I can use the knee scooter. Thanks for the advice on boosting my husband!

So sorry to hear about your broken bone, but it will heal and you’ve already figured out how to work with it so congratulations to you for that and a speedy recovery also. I do have a question for you. I’m considering purchasing a gallon of primer from Home Depot I just don’t think I need to spend big dollarson what they call the Art store primer I’d like your opinion

I used Home Depot primer for years and it worked well. The art store gesso is certainly more archival. It really depends on your level of selling. If you are selling your paintings for big bucks the collector deserves the better grade gesso. Otherwise, the hardware store primer will size your canvas and give you a fine surface.
