Hi Carly, if you want more harmonious light and shade in your drawings, I advise you to use this compressor that they use for colors.. Use it only to blow air over the coals to loosen it from the top of the paper and you will see very impressive results.

Hi carley just started watching ur charcoal art, iam also an artist just don't have anything out yet. I do portraits with colored pencils, I sketch with pencil and I have done some charcoal but will work on more in the future. What do u cover ur paper with in the begining and what spray do u use in the end if u don't mind me asking. Really Love ur work especially the Lion.

Impressive. Curious- What projector do you use? I can make a suggestion that you invest in a commercial spray gun, (not airbrush) to even out your fixative solution, do not "glom" on random saturations of fixative- using a spray gun, you make only a single pass and get accurate evenly distributed results every time. This will also force you to research and perfect what a fixative is and does.
