As an owner of this model of bike you are right the first thing I changed was the pedals. I went with Red RaceFace Chester's. I'm not too familiar with any of the brands you mentioned due to being very new to mountain biking. I do like budget friendly upgrades that give best bang for the buck.

Kev, thanks for all of the cool content and steering me quickly to purchase the Ardor X1. IT's at my house already. One thing I would love to see you upgrade ANY bike with on your channel, it's pricey, but a Cane Creek 1.5+ AngleSet Headset to make a super slack hardtail. The Ardor X1 would actually be really cool, to see a Walmart Bike with 65degrees and 2.6's. Thanks again for your time and effort. Can't wait to put a KevCentral sticker on the Ardor X1

Wildcard here. Upgrade front rotor and adapter to 180mm, and/or swap to metallic or sintered disc brake pads to loose the fading problem resin pads have when riding on the brakes a lot

What I would do and what I want to see are totally different! Advent Rockshox will make the biggest difference. The rest are all pretty much the same. But I really want to see the slackerizer! And I would like to see your take on cheap air forks (I suspect they will be fine, but no fine tuning until an unforeseen catastrophic crash?) But how about go AliExpress and get an LTWOO or Sensah rear mech? Would live to see your impression of a Cheap Chinese 1x11!

I enjoy all of your builds so I’m sure it will be interesting. I would like to see your take on the Bucklos/Bolany fork and one of the budget group sets. Alloy seat post if the factory is steel.
Crankset: show us the CLAW! 😄 It's new and different. Don't become repetitive like some others... Keep reviewing something new for your channel and you'll have me and others stoked for many more years to come. Drivetrain: Advent X has a larger cassette and an extra gear, but there's nothing wrong with Box... But, I'm not riding it. Doi what YOU like here. Handlebars: Hey, again, it's not my bike... Ride what makes you most comfortable. Fork: Let's see that Slackerizer or tapered fork conversion headset, because you've never done a video on these parts, nor have I seen anyone else's. Could be really good for views too, plus you've already shown us these other options. Pedals: Rockbros, because I want to see a longterm review on these. Keep up the good work!

Something I want to see you do: Do a video for those that want to build a bike from the frame up and see what the minamum budget is. Not for high end parts. Like... 'minimum viable trail bike that has upgrade potential.' see what that is like vs buying from walmart to see if you save money goig all diy or if having to buy everything as am end customer screws you over compared to, example, buying an aluminum comp.

IXF crankset, mostly because it's an old XT knockoff, which is good looking. Rear derailleur: Box all the way. Front cockpit: None of the above. Wake brand in red, instead. Fork: Rockshox

I think the rockshox fork is the right choice because what’s the point of upgrading if you are not making a marked improvement plus go with whatever pedal gets you closest to the color of the bike.

Hey I have the same bike and If I may speak freely I would chunk the tires and go with a set of Maxxis Minions DHR II and DHF the stock tires that came with my Polygon wasn't that grippy... the rear just spun more than I'd like Also, pay attention to the rear hub...mine has "Hub Roar" and I've had it for nearly a year Oh! one more thing, be mindful of the rim tape...I've hat to replace many innertubes then I used gorilla tape to replace the stock rim tape... haven't had a flat since. Can't wait to see how this bike turns out I'm excited to see what you do to it :)

Claw crank because different is fun. AdventX. Use the the cable guide previously occupied by the front derailleur cable for an external dropper (the TranzX Kitsuma is a great budget option). Jessica bars because that's my wife's name. Leave the factory fork because it has the matching graphics. Pedals, matching Chesters.
Great video Kev!! Keep it up with these awesome videos. I'm a little confused how you have hydraulic disc brakes with a 3 by??? Normally you have a 1 by BEFORE than hydraulic, or both at the same time. I dont think I have seen that bike's setup before LOL. 3: THE CLAW | 2: BOX | 1: ACEKIT | 3: BUCKLOS BOLANY ZTZ | 2: FOOKER | I think you should use a wired dropper with external cable routing maybe.

Go for your regular ixf crankset or funn ridge 1x. Also upgrade the rear derailleur to a shimano slx 10 speed. The fork could be changed to a suntour raidon or epixon, maybe even a rockshox reba or you could change the headset with an adapter to a tapered one so you have the vast choice of tapered forks

FSA makes a headset that will fit this frame, it converts the bottom cup to external making it possible to run a tapered fork, Suntour air fork, Box 9 drivetrain, Claw crankset w/ 32t sprocket, also I'd throw a Trans X external routed dropper post on there and a new set of Kenda tires

Altus is decent and works well. All of the problems associated with multiple cranks on the front on bigbox bikes do not apply. Leave it alone. Replace the wheels. Those wheels and the hubs are not that good. That's why the wheel was turned into a pretzel.

I would love to see the Claw crank, RockBros petals, MicroShift derailer, FMFXTR Bars, and most importantly the ZTZ front fork 120 mm travel remote lock. I’m interested in that one so I want to see how that performed. I’m building my own 29er from a Hyper Explorer full suspension and I have purchased the ZTZ already but haven’t installed it yet. Conversely to all other comments (apparently), not rockshox. It's too main stream. try Manitou or something different. Ever considered doing a cheap big box disc road bike to gravel bike conversion? there are some interesting cheap all carbon mtb forks out there (Iveke comes to mind) and 1x gravel drivetrains (Sensah SRX pro comes to mind here). Could be an interesting project in the future

very difficult questions on upgrading . I think the fork Is the most interesting going with a name brand airfork or a budget airfork . I might do both and compare . I think doing the slack adapter is great also . So I would do all 4 choices and do a review on each and how it changes the ride . A bit of work on your part but each has the pros and cons and it would be nice to see which was the best combination . The drivetrain I dont see allot of change in the ride unlike the fork and the headset which can be substantial

JGbike Crank, Sensah 10x1 groupset 11-42T, Slackerize. Bike looks like a win but for me I'm now refusing high standover frames. As you've mentioned in a previous vid, current aluminum build tech allows for strong frames in pretty much any design config so... please give us a straightline from headset to seatstay to chainstay.

Throw some 140mm+ air forks on, some wide renthal bars with a slight rise, a zee or saint crankset with some dmr pedals and a 1 x 9 or 10 drivetrain with a xt clutched mech and 11 to 51 tooth rear cassette Ergon saddle and some deathgrips this would make it a very capable trail bike

It doesn't look like a bad bike. But if I were you I'd check out the Vitus bikes. They have the Vitus Nucleus that comes in either 27.5 or 29 inch. Has through axel, tapered headset, hydraulic disc brakes, and a box drive train that even has a clutch rear derailleur. It'll probably be what I get when they're back in stock unless I can find something really good on the local used market for around the same price

Ltwoo. I've not heard much of the brand, but have heard some good from their road shifters. Similar to sensah I believe. But they have a 10 speed kit, comes with rear derailleur, shifter, cassette, chain, and even a chainring for the front if you want it. All for about $70. I'm tempted to try it out, but can't come to terms with me taking perfectly fine parts off my mountain bike right now

Hard to find QUALITY 3x in front 22 34 44 w 11-36 back. I ride a 17 yr old Giant Iguana disk but want to upgrade since factories aren't making quality 3x in front anymore. Bucklos fork. This would be an SUV. vs forcing ppl to either a Jeep or a sedan. Great content.

Quality 3x is the wildcard. LB shops are saying I need to highly customize something new to get what I want, and it will be expensive and technically difficult. They suggested Surly at $ 2200+...

personally, if i had to customize a bike, id go with box, for the cranks, id go with those action crank arms you had on that hydroform and for the fork id go with the airfork but its how i would do my bike
