My man I feel your pain. You're a true soldier to go back and reshoot. Folks who don't run a channel can't relate to that type of thing.

I got given some darkroom gear and thanks to you I've acually been giving it a go. After weeks of trial and error I finally got a print I'm happy with last night. So happy and thank you!

Great prints again Roger. Pinhole photography can be tough and keeps you on your toes. Enjoy the Franka Solida, good folders on a budget, looking forward to what results you get.

Thank you for this great video. Because of your videos on Lerouge I bought one. Your exposure-time schedule from another video of yours works best! On Lerouge I miss a threated cable release: on some of my pictures I had my fingers because of the shutter handling! Regards from Hamburg

Yes it takes getting used to. I sometimes use a pen to open and close the shutter.

I would have been tempted to remove the stick, maybe one photo with it and one without. I’ll be interested to hear your opinion about the franka solida, I’ve been watching some on eBay but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. I just shot with a Zeiss Nettar 518/2 with the novar 105mm 6.3 and the results were ok, definitely not as sharp as the 75mm 4.5 novar on my other nettar but if I ever want a shot with vignetting and soft focus everywhere but the center I know what I’ll use.
@ShootFilmLikeaBoss4 жыл бұрын
I am also interested to see how it performs. I'll save the first time for a video. I looked at the stick and nearly pulled it away. But part of my wondered why it was there, was it washed like that or did some kid place it there. So I left it alone and shot what I saw. I guess sometimes you can look at a photograph and wonder. Thanks Ken .

How were you using your light meter? Were you comparing the measured value against a chart, or will that meter read directly for those tiny apertures? I need to get my Zero cameras out and metering is always an issue. Wasted a lot of 35mm film in a camera I made, as well as a Dirkon paper camera because of metering. Would like something that's a bit more accurate with a pinhole to get me closer to the number of minutes. I'm going to try caffenol developer when I get my next film order in, just want to try it and see how it goes.
@ShootFilmLikeaBoss4 жыл бұрын
I use a pinhole app and once I calibrate my pinhole details in it gives me a chart. I base the chart on f5.6 aperture. So when I meter up I look for the speed at f5.6 and then refer to my chart, which I printed and have in my pocket, and that shows me my metered value at the pinhole exposure time. I also had to add my films reciprocity failure.

What is the appropriate time per second for exposure in sunlight or in normal light with a pinhole camera, who has correct information, thanks.
@ShootFilmLikeaBoss3 жыл бұрын
Information should be with the camera. They all differ depending on the size of the pinhole and camera format. This is the Lerouge 66 and it came with a time sheet for sun, light overcast and cloud with a 100 speed film.

Hey, simple dumb errors are what still keeps it interesting. If it wasn't for these we'd all be shooting digital. Developed a roll of film (leader was inside the canister)....blank, developed another roll of film (leader inside canister)...blank. Threw my chemicals away. Next roll perfect....sorted thought I. Looked at the two rolls of blank film. The draw across hadn't been exposed to light.....duuuugh. Two unexposed films wasted and probably fine chemicals gone down the sink. Still don't know how the leaders ended up inside the canister and film inside my 'to develop' bag......time to re-assess workflow dynamics....bang head against wall :-/
@ShootFilmLikeaBoss4 жыл бұрын
I was talking to a guy about this the other day. He had a clear film all across. I went over the usual suspects and then thought maybe he mixed up films in the bag and loaded an unexposed film in the tank. In the end he realised he fixed the film first! No black leader.
@iainmc98594 жыл бұрын
Nice to know there's more than one idiot putting the cornflakes back in the box (old joke, I'll tell you one day!). The gutting thing is that I did it twice before realising my own stupidity and wasted those chemicals :-)
