impressive sharpness for a pinhole and film of that size. Usually if you want sharp(er) with pinhole you need to go big. This seems very good though.
@ShootFilmLikeaBoss4 жыл бұрын
Bigger pinhole?
@Frisenette4 жыл бұрын
Shoot Film Like a Boss no, bigger film plane. That’s why photo paper is so popular for pinhole. Longer exposure times sure, but virtually no reciprocity failure and sharper image, with the same size pinhole.
@ShootFilmLikeaBoss4 жыл бұрын
@@Frisenette I want to go 5x4 this year. Film though not paper. :)
@Frisenette4 жыл бұрын
Shoot Film Like a Boss well paper is less expensive and you don’t have to worry about reciprocity. When you are into the seconds with exposure anyway what difference does 4x time make? Have you had a look at Joe van Cleaves channel?

I like this video and the final print on the wall looks go, however, there is one shot you have yet to make with the reeds. The missing shot is by pinhole, from the bottom of the can/cone, looking upwards, as the reeds spread out. Look at the tee shirt you were wearing, and envision a bucket' with the black center as a round bottom platform, over the camera lens, with the next band representing the false bottom on which the reeds sit, with a reflective white surface for light to bounce back up from, and the outer band, as the spreading limit of the reeds, adjusted as you like. Unless you are willing to cut a hole in the bottom of the vessel you just used. Make the platform as a card stock or plywood base, where you can open/shut the shutter with your chop stick, or better yet, drill a pinhole, through the 'top' of the shutter cover and slip and tie the two pieces of thread, in to a pair of equal length controller strings. Pull one one way and the shutter opens, pull the other, and the shutter closes. I think you would find this helpful for other setups. Take a piece of heavy poster paper, and make a cone by taping or stapling the bottom of your cone to the round platform base and making the top of the cone as wide as you like by taping it into position, at the top outside as well as the seam. You could use lace, sheer curtains, etc for the top and lighting as you wish. This should give you the opposite view point to today's video, and allow you to shoot a more advance series of frames, to try out using a ten stop ND filter over the pinhole, for much longer exposures, so, for example, a moving sunlight can have several hours to illuminate the scene, and the use if a slow film like Pan F, just to see more possibilities and a wider range of options. Cheers, Be Safe, Be Healthy and Godspeed to all, Eli

I have an idea for photography at home in my head. And I wonder how it would come about in your performance. It's about matches. Photographs of matches arranged. Some burning others are already charred, and others not lit. It would be an allegory of our life and passing... Do you have a fire extinguisher? ;-)

Hello, Roger, do you think you need all 12 grades spaced 0.5 grade apart for the enlarger? What do you think of [foma's equivalent](www.foma.cz/en/catalogue-foma-variant-filters-detail-1110) to ilford, which is like four times cheaper.
@ShootFilmLikeaBoss4 жыл бұрын
Not really Jonny. If you're on a budget go for the Ilford Contrast Student set. Grades 0 1 2 3 4 5. That'll get you started. They come in various sizes for your enlarger tray which sits above your lens.
