@@johnpaul4301 Theres a BIG DIFFERENCE between Licensed Stylist aka COSMETOLOGIST and a Barber. For one - Cosmetologist graduated from Cosmetology school and Barbers graduated from Barbering School. TWO - Cosmetologist can do BOTH men and women's hair, while Barbers can only do Men's hair. There are other more examples of DIFFERENCE between the two. EDUCATE yourself and look it up.

What was wrong with the blending shears?
@stmark4181
@stmark4181 3 жыл бұрын
@@JAREDGRAF8181 There's nothing wrong with the blending shears. It's just that some professional barbers and stylist don't know how to use it - yet this guy who did NOT go to barber or beauty school is using the blending shears like a PRO. Even more remarkable is that he is using it on himself - which is hard to do.

I've seen over a dozen of these "How to Cut Your Own Hair" videos, from both pros and amateurs. This is probably the clearest, most systematic, best over all. I wish I'd seen it first, but hair grows back! :-) Your use of comb and shears (and thinning shears) is the most helpful, because your video really shows the concept of a "guide" -- the previously cut shorter hairs vs the longer ones that stand out -- better than all the other videos I've seen; even from the pros. They kind of take it for granted, maybe they're talking to other barbers/stylists, but that's crucial and you nailed it. Thanks!

small tip when cutting your hair when it's wet. Don't cut it too short because when your hair dries it will be shorter. Wet hair stretches some. When you are done there is no harm in washing it and then dry. It might settle differently and you'll get a second take and see what might need to be trimmed a little more.

Just some friendly advice from a licensed professional , I saw you’ve been doing this for a long time but really watch the way you hold and cut with the shears, the only finger that should be moving is your thumb i would say look up some videos or articles of the proper way to hold shears just because it can cause damage to your hand in the future.

Over the last few months, my husband asked me to do his (I always groom the dogs ; ) Then decided, with unemployment, to do my own. NO one noticed the difference! So, I'm putting that $120/month in my pocket and going to invest in better equipment. The medium haircut looks so much better than the short one in the other video imo. I bought a hair clip today to hold my hair in place, and my hair is too thin, so it doesn't work to hold it :/ Do you know what kind of hair clips I should buy to hold thinner hair in place? The other thing I'm gonna try is putting some product in my hair to thicken it up, hold it with the clip, cut the sides and then wash the product out for cutting the top. It seems time consuming but might work.

Hi Alex, first of all, let me tell you I find your videos not only near perfect but unique with clear explanation. I have a very important question: here in Germany and Europe i can't find or to buy online the Super Tape II clippers and the delivery from USA is not possible. What can you propose as an Alternative clippers? I have found the Wahl Magic clip 5 star clippers and whal legend hair trimmer, are they suitable and alternative for Super Taper 2 ? Which one would you choose to use if you wouldn't find the super Taper 2 clippers? And/ or What do you suggest as an Alternative for Super Taper 2 clippers I will be appropriating your answer. Thank you, Johnny

Excellent tutorial. Great looking haircut. I wish I had as much hair as you do. You make it look easy. I have Wahl hair clippers. Never used. Now, I need the rest of the stuff: scissors, combs, mirrors, etc. Thanks.

Great cut. Did you ever used clipper sizes above number 4 (1/2 inch)? What is your opinion on this?

Cut my hair today from the sides, took me 4 hours as I almost messed it up and then my trimmer (battery powered) started to die on me. Overall satisfied with the result as I have to go office even in this half lockdown so I have to look sharp.

I'm looking at all these comments and comparing them to you're other skin fade video tutorial and these comments seem a lot more optimistic and positive about the results that people have seen, might have to start with this medium cut instead of a skin fade for a first self haircut!
