@@JAREDGRAF8181 There's nothing wrong with the blending shears. I've seen over a dozen of these "How to Cut Your Own Hair" videos, from both pros and amateurs. This is probably the clearest, most systematic, best over all. I wish I'd seen it first, but hair grows back! :-) Your use of comb and shears (and thinning shears) is the most helpful, because your video really shows the concept of a "guide" -- the previously cut shorter hairs vs the longer ones that stand out -- better than all the other videos I've seen; even from the pros. They kind of take it for granted, maybe they're talking to other barbers/stylists, but that's crucial and you nailed it. Thanks!

small tip when cutting your hair when it's wet. Don't cut it too short because when your hair dries it will be shorter. Wet hair stretches some. When you are done there is no harm in washing it and then dry. It might settle differently and you'll get a second take and see what might need to be trimmed a little more.

The other thing I'm gonna try is putting some product in my hair to thicken it up, hold it with the clip, cut the sides and then wash the product out for cutting the top. It seems time consuming but might work.
