Aslamoalaikom may Allah increase your knowledge Aameen. Doing an excellent job by educating health care professionals. Kindly add isoniazid prophylaxis in children of contact for 6 months and an infant of a mother having TB in pregnancy. Also, add about test detecting resistance for rifampicin Xpert RIF essay and other DST for other anti TB Medications.

Sir, what if the PPD test ulcerates and has a normal Chest Xray? Will sputum AFB be useful for extrapulmonary TB?

If PPD ulcerates and patient has normal chest X ray, it is a latent TB. For extrapulmonary tb you have to take fluid or biopsy sample from the area where you are suspecting tb and do PCR of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. For example ascitic fluid,CSF.
