+856 Kicks that's what's so strange about Julian Newman. Even the bestest of the best kids don't do this. Jashaun Agosto (c/o 2016) has played kids 2 years older than himself. Damon Harge(c/o 2018) has played kids 2 - 3 years older. Ben Simmons (C/o 2015), Corey Sander (c/o 2015) Dwayne BAcon (c/o 2015) have all played kids 2 or 3 years older. But to play kids 5 years older says a lot about what's going on in his neck of the woods. He doesn't have any good competition. He also needs to play against ELITE PLAYERS not just OLDER PLAYERS. I've gotten word that Julian's dad turns down all his chances to play with ELITE ballers. Hmmm.. interesting.

Looks like he grew since his last video. Kid can really play. Has a handle and great court vision but whats more impressive is his timing on his passes and the fact that he denied a few ball screens when he seen the defender cheating. That's college stuff.

Last stat I had for Julian was 5'2 (he's 13) and last stat I have for Chase Adams (age 14) is 5'4". Chase is in HS and Julian is on HS Varsity since age 10 I believe. If he is so GREAT A TALENT why doesn't dad go ahead and allow the lad to play against an ELITE PLAYER LIKE CHASE. Chase is only 1 year older than Julian. I would love to see him go against Julian. Considering what the comment below said (that Julian plays kids 5 years older than him)

Meechie Johnson is very mature for his age. He acts more like 13 than 11. Very interesting yet highly talented young man. Sonny Johnson will be just as good. In fact I am willing to bet that Meechie and his brother Sonny will be more like the GASOLS, THE MAKERS AND THE HARRISON TWINS.

I've seen a lot of comment about Julian Newman on here. He's 13 and Meechie is 12. Meechie may be a little taller than Julian, but this is the problem with Julian. He has yet to play ELITE TALENT. You'd think by now he'd be head-in on playing Elite ballers, but he's still on HS level playing which doesn't mean anything but age differences. THERE'S A HUGE DIFFERENCE between playing kids older than you AND PLAYING KIDS WITH YOUR EXACT SKILL SETS. this is what AAU and EBYL CAMPS bring to the table: a chance to play with kids at YOUR LEVEL not KIDS THAT MAY OR MAY NOT BE OLDER THAN YOU. AGE AND SKILL LEVEL ARE TWO DIFFERENT things.

It depends. usually the offsprings of superstar athletes are more at a DISADVANTAGE than most. However I noticed that they have a similar style right now. they are very confident in their basketball skin and they are very unselfish with the ball.

other than the spin move, step back, and eurostep, nothing else was really that impressive. too young to tell whether he understands fundamentals like how to use high screens and pick and rolls. he's definitely got good footwork and ball handling skills for his age though....but i'm always weary about seeing these kids making mixtapes on youtube since a lot of them end up busting in D1 NCAA ball.
