Self-diagnosis can be dangerous, causing people to presume they are autistic when they actually have a personality disorder. Professional diagnosis is absolutely necessary to ensure that the right people are able to access available support. Also, it's incredibly distasteful for Amanda to claim to be autistic just because she's unlikeable and difficult.

I'm a licensed clinical therapist and diagnosing is part of my job but I refer out for neuropsychological testing because it is a very complicated diagnosis with many symptoms that can overlap with other disorders like ADHD, social anxiety, and even trauma. I've noticed a lot of people will see a tik tok video, self-diagnose with ASD and not properly treat the root of their symptoms - this is the problem with self-diagnosis in my opinion.
