TIMESTAMPS (I tried to account for the edits they would make from the audio version , like cutting out the ads, music, etc,so these timestamps should be closer to what they’re actually talking about. If not, they’ll be in the ballpark at least) 0:00:00 Start of podcast, Intro, Quentin Miller talks about his background and his come up, was in the same camp as Frank Ocean in the beginning 0:05:51 How was it being homeschooled and then transitioning to going to Las Vegas with The Dream? 0:07:48 Who were your peers in Atlanta during the time of your come up? Quentin Miller talks about sending Boi 1-da a hail merry text, and it working out. Put his trust in Dream in terms of managing him, but it didn't pan out 0:10:10 Quentin talks about how he got dropped from his label. He was in the studio and all of a sudden , an A&R comes in and tells him he's not a star, and he don't got it, right in the middle of the session, and that kicked it off 0:13:18 Mal to Quentin Miller: After being dropped from Epic, what did you do after? Quentin talks about how he made the reference for 10 Bands (The song from Drake) and how it ended up in Drakes hands to build out into a full song. Also talks about how it ended up in Dj Drama's camp 0:19:50 Rory to Quentin Miller:When you're getting flown out to LA, is there any talk that you're focused on making 'If you're reading this, its too late', or are you just making songs? Talks about how he was sending Drake songs, but he wasn't fuckin with any of them. He then sent R.I.C.O. to DJ Drama and Drake. Drake took the song and somehow Meek Mill ended up on it 0:22:10 DJ Drama approached Quentin Miller and told him that Meek Mill wants him to write a hook, verse, or something for him. Talks about first meeting Meek and Nicki via DJ Drama. Meek Mill approached Quentin Miller a second time for him to write something for him, and Quentin Miller denied it. Talks about certain songs getting leaked 0:26:53 Quentin Miller says that he really believed DJ Drama didn't leak any of the songs, but then come to find out that DJ Drama goes on Drink Champs and the New Rory & Mal podcast, and says he did. Quentin talks about DJ Drama's comments on him, says DJ Drama was a little disingenuous, and that Quentin got the short end of the stick 0:30:39 Rory to Quentin miller: Whats your relationship with everybody (Drake, DJ Drama, etc) while this whole leak situation is happening? Quentin Miller talks about his expectations from Drake and DJ Drama 0:33:37 Rory to Quentin Miller: Have you ever thought about WHY you were getting blackballed? Especially after you just got credited for 2 of the biggest artists? 0:34:22 Mal to Quentin Miller: Did you ever have a conversation with Drake after all of this happened? How did it go? 0:35:36 Quentin Miller talks about the situation, where Meek Mills team allegedly assaulted him at the Nike Store in LA. Quentin Miller alleges that Nicki played a big part in what went down. Says he went to a studio session right after looking crazy with a busted lip at Hitboy's studio where Travis Scott pulled up. 0:41:05 Mal: So that situation happens, and theres still no communication with Drake? Do you ever try to reach out to him, or did you just think he wasn't really messin with you? Rory asks if Quentin blames Drake for how he acted, given the situation, and Rory provides Drakes possible point of view on the situation 0:45:59 Rory to Quentin: Did you feel like you're not the first person contributing that amount to Drakes rap songs? How did you feel mentally after all was said and done? 0:50:01 Mal: Out of that whole situation, when you look back on it, what could you have done differently? Did the whole situation turn you off to being an artist, but also a writer as well? Quentin talks about how writers always get the short end of the stick, their checks come a year later, and how its a thankless job 0:53:50 Rory to Quentin: How was it being a parent throughout that whole situation? Mal asks how it makes Quentin feel when people are in the club playing records that he wrote, and they love them, but don't really know who Quentin is 0:56:01 Quentin says that being homeschooled may have put him at a disadvantage, since the industry is largely based on social skills, and he didn't get that in his homeschooling. He talks about the brief time that he went to an actual school 0:57:52 Mal: Why don't we see more of you rapping? 1:01:01 Mal: How many songs do you and Cardo have together? Whats the relationship with you and Cardo? Quentin talks about his music direction for the future 1:04:13 Mal: When is the last time you were happy? Did the car accident help you realize what was important in life? 1:07:45 Mal: Who do you credit the most for your style? 1:10:06 Rory: Outside of music, whats your hobbies? How the ladies treatin ya? Did Quentin ever tap a girl on the shoulder when 10 Bands came on and let her know thats actually him? 1:12:12 Mal: Maybe there is room for a deeper conversation between Drake and you, after everything thats happened 1:13:08 Rory: Whats your relationship like with Boy-1da right now? 1:14:58 Whats your favorite rap album since 2015? Who do you want a song with right now? Tells a story of working ASAP Rocky , Kanye, and Pusha T, and ASAP unknowingly took Quentin's line off of a verse 1:19:24 Podcast wrap up

FOCUS ON YOU AND DO WHATS BEST FOR YOU NO MATTER WHAT LITERALLY. Cause at the end of the day who … who got you more than you ? Quentin is a prime example of he never did whats best for him, granted that publishing deal. I don’t give that cause he was young, clueless and got taken advantage of, but afterwards he should’ve just did whats best for him no matter how much his life was getting colossal and unbelievable, DO WHATS BEST FOR HIM. My guess is that it wasn't the "no" part that pushed Meek, it was the speculation on why he said no. I think Meek thought that it was coordinated hate from Drake/ OVO camp keeping songs and hooks from him. My guess is that this paranoia was fueled by Nicki in some way. With the mindset being, "Why would a OVO artist not want to make music with me when I'm cool with Drake and my girl is his friend/ label mate" Turns out QM was just practicing loyalty to Drake that wasn't deserved or even warranted. Edit: just got to the part where he basically said he heard Nicki was the one that wanted him jumped. I truly think she was the catalyst to all this drama, and QM, Meek and Drake fought a battle that didn't need to happen.

The way Mal looked at Rory when he asked if Hip Hop sent the tape cause of Meek album 😭😭😭

Drama is very messy. It also sounds like Meek, Drama & Nicki plotted against Drake out of jealousy.

If he had decided to write for meek, I really believe he would've been in a better place. Probably would've written for Beyonce or something by now. This is why people say 'ALWAYS CHOOSE YOU' because he was trying to be all loyal to drake and see what has happened now. Also we probably won't know about drake having a ghost writer by now if Quentin wrote for Meek.

It’s unfortunate what QM went too , but Nicki is shady af . Crazy how Drake was able to forgive her, because it seems like she was the one who put the battery in Meeks back to do what he did smh.

Great interview ! I kinda wish you guys would tapped more into his mental space tho .. dude seems like he has so much hurt & pain that he’s holding on to .. the question about happiness was very deep .. he seemed like he almost wanted to cry but he did a fake laugh instead .. awesome interview tho I’m about to listen to some dude latest music that I missed ..👌🏾

I wonder why Nicki wanted to end Drake... I assume seeing him becoming the bigger artist on the same label didn’t sit well with her. She hid behind Meek and used him to sabotage Drake’s career and let Meek catch all the 🔥 raw deal 😂😂 ‘I told Meek I wouldn’t trust Nicki”🤦🏽♂️
@Misspoked2 жыл бұрын
Lmaooo drake and Nicki beefed before meek . Listen to Tuscan leather she could’ve attempted that then . Meek don’t even trust Rick Ross cuz he been taking $$ out his pockets. Gillie exposed that
