The city really embraced Meek and supported him through his entire legal process, and we were blasting this song through the streets during our victory parade and celebrations. Really important song for Philadelphia

Meek mill was put back in prison for a technical (non-criminal) violation of his parole. Due to his high profile he was released and now he is trying to help people that don't have millions of supporters. In the U.S. you can be given 2-4 years for popping a wheelie if you are on probation which is what meek mill did

@@barry101ish okay, you don’t understand the difference between the parole and probation. Parole is when you are released from a prison (longer than 2 years) early. Probation is given in lieu of or part of a sentence. You CAN be on both. In my state and city (same as Meek) we have some of the highest supervision rates in the country and the whole system is screwed. Like say I stole $20 worth of food. Technically they can give you probation , and then say you did your 3 years but at one point your phone broke. You buy one that night after work and then call your PO the next day to inform them of that change. They can violate you and all that time is meaningless and you can get resentenced to the max allowable under the law, so you end up worse than going to trial and losing. My friend got violated for exactly that situation. They can also extend it, so people get on for 2 and it ends up 20. Or you can get sentenced and sent upstate, do your time, come back and check in with parole and they say everything is good then 9 months later you have a team kicking the door down and find out the judge sentenced you to probation AFTER the sentence and since you didn’t report they are sending you back. Or you could be minding your business, there was a guy who did everything right for over 10 years and while at his sisters his nephew was arrested for drugs, when he asked what was going on they grabbed a bundle of heroin and pushed it into his chest. His “back judge” (who his probation was under) held a Daisy Kates hearing where she decided he violated probation and revoked everything and restarted the clock in prison. He ended up getting the charges dropped in the other case which caused the violation but it doesn’t matter. The system is not working well for anyone but those making money off of it. Which is another, probation fees and court costs etc must be paid or they don’t let you off probation. Also if you can’t afford to pay, violation and jail.
