Great discussion ladies! I really enjoyed TMNN. It was extremely well done. I wish Farhat Istiaq scripts wouldn't be wasted on nepo/well connected actors. This is Dananeers 4th outing, and she has been getting author backed roles since her second project, whereas many talented outsiders are still grinding it out. Ahad is fairly talented despite the "nepo" tag, but he often walks out of projects in Pakistan last minute to pursue work outside, eventhough it is the Pakistani audience that has given him whatever fame he currently has, so this leaves a bad taste in my mouth. That he takes his work in Pakistan for granted, yet always has top notch projects waiting for him when he decides to return.

I feel the differences in Zard Patton, Faraar and Tan man is the no of episodes to be aired. Tan man is only about 8-9 episodes so there are less no. of characters, less subplots and they are strung together better to be able to be completed within the specified no of episodes. Faraar and Zard have the luxury of a larger no of episodes so they are able to add more subplots and characters. Faraar is a multi POV and will come together when the main protagonists actually go Faraar and IMO that’s when the story will come full circle. I absolutely loved Zard Patton and despite having a a large cast, it didn’t feel disjointed, every character had an arc and all the subplots culminated in shaping the story of the main protagonists. Additionally, barring a few initial scenes, the majority of the drama was shot in a village and Qaiser Qlan was a character in itself.

Good discussion. TMNON was absolutely fabulous. Mustafa Afridi wanted to make sure we get the message and also not get bored and that is exactly what happened. I found myself smiling ear to ear at Sehar and Shuja's meet cute, felt deeply when Rabi's mom tells her about her husband's "thank you" after so many years of marriage, shocked and cold at the Se**al Assault depicted. My point being - there are so many good and bright things portrayed along with a portrayal of the realistic abuse and gundagardi that all the pieces fit together. It works - this is what a drama is supposed to be. Portrayal of some amazing and some evil/frightening relationships - Rabi and her mom, Sonu and mom, Rabi and sonu, Sonu with his friends, Kaami with Rabi, Kaami with Bhau ......I just cannot wait for the second episode. MSM I enjoyed it too - highlight for me was Ahad and Mohit's relationship. I liked Dananeer - she is super cute but at the same time it felt that I have seen this type of character again and again. And also she is shown as a 18/19 yr old (her family wants her to study engineering/science BA/BSc) and yet again we will see an age gap in the story with a 30+ Ahad's char with Dananeers. However - to be very honest - I was skeptical about KMKT in the first few episodes too so maybe the story will pick and will make sense. Farhat Ishtiaq did say that this is her first light hearted drama so lets see how her maiden venture into romcom is .

A good example of not being OTT even if the character is written that way is Friends. Phoebe, Rachel, Joey were so believable that they never felt out of character even if they said the most absurd of things.

Meem si muhhabat looked very disconnected. It looked more like Ramzaan drama and I would have preferred if Dalaneer would have toned down her performance. I hope it gets better. I agree with the argument about neurodivergence but I guess the my don’t want to audience doesn’t want to be burdened with the science. TMNON was a good watch. The main lead actor’s performance was weak. And if they were to show the lead as a dancer, I would have preferred a better dancer in the cast. Story line is dark, lots of nuances. It will be a good watch for sure. Friend’s acting was brilliant. His pain, humiliation, anguish was portrayed very well. It’s a sad reality of life that most often we see mismatched couples like Sehar’s parents. A lively mom is stuck with a stoic spouse. I must say it was a lot of development for one episode. You two ladies were outstanding as always. Your

I doubt a writer who still writes such dakiyaanusi pregnancy tropes in which she makes the women bedridden 24/7 or else it will harm the baby when there are countless research studies done that prove otherwise, and age old miscarriage tropes where she blames the father to show "nuance and depth" of human relation or "badchalan badkirdaar aurat tropes" to throw the bahu out from house has enough intellect to write such severely complex clinical conditions such as neuro divergencies or ADHD. She is good in writing stuff that just happens in her la lal land far away from science and logic. She cant even write a solid and convincing doctory wala track without involving delusions and romance and "poeticness".

Pregnancy makes women sensitive & at the mercy of hormones Ive seen people to whom it’s happened Khirad & a lot of other heroines in the PTV world ( for me its Mannu of Mannmayal) seem to trigger extreme reactions I love Farhat Ishtiaqs heroines , what we love & hate about a character can help us understand a lot about ourselves- for me Khirad showed me the supreme power of patience & forgiveness
