Meepo VADER Limited Edition Gear Drive - Fast, Stable, And A Looker!

I’ve owned a carbon fiber Hurricane since Meepo released it and it has been by far my favorite board. I own much more expensive and higher performance boards but I always seem to com back to this one. It has MORE than enough performance and I don’t have to worry about it as it is my primary mode of transportation at a lot of regional Burning Man events. I’ve traded out to 210mm wheels and changed the gear ration. I’m often riding this thing off road and the extra deck clearance with the 200mm pneumatics is an absolute must for me personally. Both of mine are belt drives as when I bought my first one the gear drive wasn’t even a thing yet and when I bought my second one I really wanted to go to the gear drive but having a second belt drive made more since as I wanted to have a full backup board with interchangeable parts. Meepo’s customer service is also amazing. I’d highly recommend This board to anyone.

Well after 3 very long months finally got mine 4 days ago. And this thing is a beast!. So far i love it. This is my first four wheeled e-board. I started with a One wheel pint. And i really like this board and the brakes.

Yeah, I tried the One Wheel Pint. And did not like the fact that it can run away from you and there is no brake system. And yeah so far I love this board. It is awesome. Watching your video helped me decide on it. You were very descriptive. Thank you and take care

I've just ordered this as my first esk8. What do you recommend for lube on the gears?

Sweet, you’ll love it man. You shouldn’t have to lube the gears for quite some time. But when you do, you want a synthetic grease that’s tacky. Some like Super Lube. You might reach out to Meepo and see if they’ll send you a tube of what they use so you can find a larger one where you live that’s similar. Thanks for watching! 😃👍🏻

Also, How does that Esk8 thing work?

You hold the remote in your hand, and accelerate by pushing the throttle wheel forward to go, and pull it back to brake. They have a lot of power, so take it slow and start in first speed / gear until you’re stable with it, then go up a level to find a comfortable speed / torque. Lean forward when accelerating, and back when braking. Wear safety gear! That’s the basic of it, and watch a few of my esk8 videos to see how I do it, and you’ll be on your way! I have a ‘67 mustang that my uncle left to me, and a Peavy T60 with the matching T40 Bass. 1970 D-28, and 2 of my father’s HB drums. The drum company is gone now, but he was a sponsored drummer of theirs. Oh yea….i have the evolve GTR 2 in 1. It’s great

How many miles does it get while going only on fourth gear, because I have the nls and gets about 10 miles in range when using its complete full speed

So I've ordered this board based off your review. I know it was sent to you. But how long did it take to get to you? It's been three weeks and they haven't sent me any info on it.

That’s pretty normal if it’s not from a US warehouse. And sometimes even if it is. You typically won’t get shipping info until it has actually left from its first point in the US. If it’s coming over from China, it’ll start tracking once they empty the container, inventory, and ship them. If it’s from a US warehouse, it’ll start tracking when it leaves. You can also join the Meepo Community on Facebook and post about it. Bonnie from Meepo is pretty good about helping out. Hope you enjoy it!

Be very very cautious please. The double king pin axle on my meepo hurricane carbon edition snapped while riding. I'm currently in the hospital while writing this. I have a bad head injury and terrible road rash. Possibly internal bleeding.

Daaaang! Was it this version of the board? I’ve seen that on many boards from different brands. It’s something we never want to happen to us. These boards are under a lot of stress from the motors, the road, and everything else. I hope you heal quickly!

I'm having trouble getting a hold of meepo to report this issue. Personally, I would like to keep the board, but now I'm terrified to ride it with this current truck design. My parents want me to sue meepo for the damages but personally I would rather not have to go that far. I just want a truck setup that I know won't break on me at 30 mph. However, at the same time, something needs to be done about this weak design because there is another review on KZbin that actually catches the failure of the front axle of this same model snapping off on camera.

I dunno man...my original Hurricane is still kickin' after over 2 years, so while that may be accurate in some cases, it's not always the case. This one...it's pretty dang nice! Thank you so much for watching.

don't believe the distance it can go, their website has been wrong since the inception of Hurricane, they only go 31 km not miles !

I’ve gotten 25-30 miles on my first gen Hurricane, and this is refined and may be more efficient. I might have to hold onto it a bit longer and get a good range test in. As they say, “your mileage may vary”, and it all depends on rider weight, terrain, and conditions. I’ve seen a lot of variances in esk8 performance from user to user for sure.
