Chunk is in his prime and this could be his year to be the top bear. I do enjoy all his comical past like long playing sessions with Backpack, the fat bear parade with 409 and 410 and the Chunk rolls. I think he may sense both 747 and 856 are getting older. And, the nasty injury he got might also change him a bit!

I also think Chunk may be the top bear this year. He's moving in and around the falls like he's the BOSS.

Chunk has been my favorite bear since I started watching several years ago. I think some don’t like him because of how he is being a bear and displaying dominance to make sure he is #1. While it is tough to see how he is going about it, he is an animal and has his own personality. I for one am glad he is finally realizing he can be number 1 after many years of being dominated by other bears. Love you Chunk!❤ Hope you have a successful year as #1!

Bear 32 with a disproportionately large back end aka Boscbear is taking over by hostile takedown! I think some may reconsider who they’d like to see as top bear. Nonetheless it looks like 856 has decided to take on a less taxing life. So pearbear has capitalized. 🍐🐻

This is an ignorant question, but why do these bears have extremely patchy coats in some videos and perfect looking coats in others? I’ve noticed this now in videos of both 747 and Chunk. Do they catch diseases that cause this, or is it a shedding thing?

Is he the one with the "bare bum"? Everyone was enjoying a laugh about a bear with a backside that's shed down to the skin - I saw him this morning on the live cam and wondered if it was Chunk?

Yep. Bear 903 is nicknamed Gully for that very reason. Saw him fishing the lip as recently as yesterday. He is easy to spot with that long giraffe neck 😅

@@twojeeze Thanks. Yes I heard from someone else that he's snacked on a few gulls. That bear is now my spirit animal. I am a striped bass fisherman and I have a love/hate with seagulls, mostly hate though lol.
