That is absolutely the most intense bear interaction/fight I have ever seen. At the end of the day, the older, heavier, more experienced light colored bear was victorious. The younger, darker bear took a ton of damage. I wouldn’t be surprised if he did not live long after this encounter. In the beginning of the fight, I wondered to myself how it is that bears don’t incur more damage when fighting other bears. When you see what a bear can do to a human with little to no energy exerted it is simply crazy. Then I saw the smaller, darker bear’s back left haunches simply slabbed open, and at the end, the entire back of his neck was ripped apart. They must have incredibly thick hides in order to withstand the jaw clamping rips they receive during a fight. I will say…watching them jockey for position was interesting. They were actually thinking ahead of their attacks. Thanks for an impressive upload. And THANK YOU for letting it speak for itself. Well, the female from the beginning was probably impregnated already, since June is when they mate. I’d be curious what bears do for healing when such big hunks of flesh are ripped apart. Interestingly, I just looked it up, and the black bears will heal during hibernation. But, that isn’t for many months yet, so I wonder if this bear survived afterwards. “Bears are known to have elevated levels of hibernation induction trigger (delta-opioid receptor agonist) and ursodeoxycholic acid (major bile acid within plasma, mostly conjugated with taurine) during hibernation, which may relate to these wound-healing abilities.”

Wow that was insane! Possibly the best bear fight footage ever recorded in history. I’ve seen a lot of grizzly bear fights in the wild. This is one of the best ever filmed. Top 3. In long fights sometimes one bear won’t survive. The river looks familiar to me. I think it’s in BC. I’ve seen the flesh scarred bear. He’s an older male. The torn flesh was done in a previous fight. For those who will ask, the wounded bear will lick his wounds and rest in salt water. The massive wound will heal in time. Most bears die from human contact shot or hit by vehicles. Bear causes of death are attributed to non-human related traumatic lesions and infectious diseases (primary developed such as infectious canine hepatitis or secondary developed such as clostridiosis or septicemia) 🇨🇦
