When I first went to visit my wifes family, had a gathering at a seaside place and at least 60 friends and relative came. All in all We spent much more than expected but still not expensive for the amount of food was served! I love the Philippines!

Plenty of cash depending on the stay. 2-3 days about $200-$300 in small bills of 100, 50, 20s. Coins, coins, coins, did I mention coins are a life saver in the province? I usually build a trust with a 7/11, busy vendor, or market stand for change. Just make sure they're aware you will only shop from them for change. Looks like a fun peaceful place.
