34:50 Pay a little more attention to the crafting grid. You keep missing what you need. In this case you have plenty of wood to get what you want and didn't need to go get any more jungle wood. All you needed to do was make more sticks. As you can see in the grid you have the planks and the sticks are showing up red meaning that you're missing that part of the recipe. I still think learning to use the crafting grid instead of depending entirely on the crafting book would really help you remember what each thing needs. Its like having to google every single question you have instead of trying to remember the answers to things.

50:53 timestamp where you broke the diamond pick chest (you can even see the pick fall to the ground!) and started the despawn timer 55:20 you can catch a very brief glimpse of the diamond pickaxe, sitting amongst your emeralds 55:53 everything from that chest despawns 58:00 you finally go back for it, more than two minutes too late. The despawn timer is always, exactly, five minutes, and starts the instant you drop the items. Moving inventory by breaking chests *is fast and efficient and not a bad plan,* but you have to be quick and make sure you don't drop too much on the ground at once. If you're ever in a pickle, _you can restart the timer_ by quickly picking up and dropping everything again to buy yourself more time. Just always always keep that despawn timer in your mind 💜

The reason this exists is for performance, many mobs die and top items that don’t get picked up and people discard items by just throwing them on the floor so if items don’t despawn performance can quickly become a huge problem.

Just finished watching! Two things to note. As you mine deeper, more valuable ores are going to require an iron pickax or better! Second, the deeper you go, the more lava you’ll encounter. Please be cautious when bringing a dog, they have a tendency to fall in. I’ve lost a few that way so just be careful!

Having them in a boat or minecart also works, but yes. When a dog is sitting, it won't walk around, follow you, or teleport. It's very obedient 👍 Only exception is if a sitting dog falls into water I believe. Then it'll swim to shore before sitting back down.

When you want Buddy to come in, just open the door with your hand instead of stepping on the pressure plate. It will stay open until Buddy comes in and walks over the pressure plate, then that will close it.

One way you can easily organize your chests is to craft signs and place them in front of your chests. Just make sure you crouch before you place them or you will open your chest instead of placing the sign. If you find a flower, you can turn it into dye and use it to dye Buddy's collar. You can make bread by placing three wheat in a row in the crafting table, and you can get nine wheat from putting a hay bale in your crafting table. If Buddy gets hurt you can feed him rotten flesh or meat to heal him. You will know he is low on health if he starts to make whining noises.

nooooo, you lost your diamond pick. my anxiety spiked when i saw it on the ground. ah, it’s okay. a part of minecraft is learning how to deal with loss. now that gives you a quest to find more diamonds. diamond picks are the only way to mine obsidian (created when water hits a lava source block) obsidian is a very useful resource. you can never have enough storage in this game, i recommend putting some barrels upstairs in your bedroom for high-value items like diamond tools, it really ensures their safety. you should also craft an armor stand, it saves up on storage space

A hint, if you run into ore that takes that long to break, don't keep digging until it breaks (unless you have diamond) as it will be lost. Endless mining with little ores to be found can be frustrating. Sometimes it's more beneficial to explore the surface for large opening to big caves. That way you have access to potentially a lot of many ore varieties without taking the time to mine blocks. Nice lush cave biome you found there at the end. Can't wait to see its real size as well as your exploration of it.

Love the roof deck! I think one thing that will help you is if you look to the right whenever you can’t craft something. The crafting grid will show you what you are missing - like you discovered with the missing sticks that were what you needed rather than more wood. Two things about Buddy, if he gets hurt you can heal him with raw meat. You can tell how healed he is by how upright his tail gets. And if you tell him to sit he will stay there til you release him. Otherwise he will follow and protect you if a mob attacks.

I've been absolutely loving this series. One thing I would like to add is replant your trees with the saplings. Otherwise you'll keep having to go farther and farther for more wood. A cool thing about Jungle saplings is that if you plant them in a 2x2, you get a super tall jungle tree with potentially 10x the amount of wood from a regular jungle tree.

Water doesn't decant or balance, it only flows away from the source block(s). Think of it like watery vines spreading away from the source that crumble when you pull up the root. Horizontal flow diminishes in intensity, while vertical flow renews intensity, so water can flow right down a hill from a single source. Water cannot flow into blocks that already contain something solid (or will break the thing in it like your carpet), but you can place a source block inside a partially-occupied block, i.e. stairs or a fence - this is called a "waterlogged block". You don't need to hold *nothing* to use the hand instead of a tool/weapon, just hold literally anything else and that counts as punching. The witch doesn't exist anymore, enemies aren't that permanent. 18:12 that's what stairs and slabs are for A trap chest outputs a redstone signal when opened (like using a pressure plate for the doors) 1:55:23 you'll need an iron or diamond pickaxe to mine that

I have a couple very easy building tips for you. The way you use your plank blocks to build walls and floors is fine, but it is both very samey and noisy. You can take some log blocks of the same wood type and mix them into the surface of planks. And then use your axe to strip the bark with the interaction button. The block will have the same basic color but is way smoother. Breaking up the overall texture. Mix in as many as you like until you have the amount of noise/smoothmness that you are happy with. Second tip: maybe consider making your floors/ceilings out of a different material than your walls. It always looks better to have a bit of a contrast there. Also consider the texture. If you have a noisy wall texture you might want a smooth, “boring” floor. You get some of that with your carpet in your bedroom. But you don’t need carpet for that effect. You can use any block. An easy choice would be terracotta which you have plenty available. And then dye it a different color.

**I have to say, I had great fear when you broke the whole double chest which dropped the contents, knowing that if you took your time sorting into the lower level chests that you were risking having it all despawn in 5 minutes. Breaking 1/2 a double chest at a time would be better because you can only carry 36 items (36 slots including hot bar). Painful to see your stuff (diamond pickaxe) despawn. ** Buddy is a good name. Dog/tamed wolf, if not intentionally put in a sitting position, will follow/teleport wherever you go. If sat down, that's where they stay...forever. **'disagreements' as to what to take are going to happen because everyone has their own play style and preferences, you'll develop yours as you learn what each weapon, tool, block/item does. My choices to take when I go exploring or mining changes. If overland, I'll potentially leave the crafting table & furnace (as an example) behind - trees are plentiful, except maybe in a desert. Mining? I want to take those things, along with a stack of logs so I can make sticks or wood slabs for fuel if I don't have/find coal so I can make more torches if needed. **worth repeating, **iron** is NOT most found on y7, it's most found on y16 **right, iron or diamond picks are needed to get certain blocks; it was redstone ore blocks & oh the pain of seeing you use a stone pick on diamonds ore blocks - ouch, but "learning" is real. **your mining session was minimal, distance of 500 blocks or more is common, I also mine 3 blocks high instead of two but that's my preference Blessings, enjoying still :)

Few tips: - You can climb vines If they are on a wall, they work as ladders. But if they are hanging, press "Jump" to climb them. - Dropped items works on Wooden Pressure plates. Just drop something on the plate to leave the door open for Buddy. - Make a vertical 2x2 or 3x3 mineshaft in your basement. Have a floor every 5 or 10 blocks. Put the ladder in a corner, so you don't fall off it.

Great stuff! I loved all the ouches during the head bonks when going into the mines. It can be frustrating sometimes when you just keep looking for one resource but can't seem to find it, everyone's been there at one point or another. Keep up the good work mining though, you're starting to get the hang of it! Right before you found the lush cave at the end, I was literally wondering how you had yet to stumble on one yet with all the clay you had dug through already. Have fun exploring it! They are usually quite pretty!! Buddy is a great addition to the "wolf pack". Be careful though, taking him around mobs can be dangerous, especially unprotected. You can craft him some wolf armor if you get your hands on some more armadillo scutes. You already have 2 of these in one of your chests, and you need 6 total to craft the armor for Buddy. Armadillos randomly drop them as they walk around, or you can use a brush on them (copper, feather and a stick to craft it) to get 1 scute every time you brush it. Wolf armor absorbs all attack damage against Buddy before he himself loses any health (up until the armor breaks). This is different from player armor, where some of the damage still makes its way through the armor.

Yay a new episode! \o/ Interior design in Minecraft is not just a skill; it a whole program of study. It takes time. Inventory blindness. It's at least as contagious as COVID and has infected hundreds of millions of Minecraft players. A dog! You are the mighty beastmaster! :D As soon as you broke that first chest to start your re-organization, I was concerned the controller would slow you down too much and that some of your inventory would evaporate. But omg for the diamond pickaxe to get lost is a tough blow. :( Well, time to go mine some diamonds. ...and also some iron. All seeds! No melon! oops. At least you can plant a LOT of melons now. One of the amazing things about Minecraft is how the mining is, for a lack of a better word, therapeutic. There's something very calming about digging a long (long long long) mine while looking for iron or other materials. In any other game that would be the grind, but in Minecraft it's therapy. At least it is calming until you come across a cave with monsters. And oh that amazing feeling when you find something awesome in the mine!!! \o/

When you started mining the clay at the end of the video, I had a pretty strong feeling this video would end with a cliffhanger of you discovering the lush caves biome.🤣 If you're in the caves and you run into clay, that means you're right by the lush caves. Also, the chest you keep the metal ores and ingots in, if you go to your crafting bench and put the iron, gold, and copper ore and the ingot version of them in a 3 x 3 grid, you get a block. So each block is 9 ores and ingots, so in doing so, you get 9 times the storage space in the chests you put them in. The same thing works with coal, diamonds, emeralds, lapis lazuli, and redstone dust.

Gravel is one of the blocks I dislike the most. You can mine it best with a shovel. It can give you flint. But just how it spawns inthe world, make it very inconvenient to mien around it. So whenever I encounter it, I mine it all to prevent the falling in the future.

Hello! This episode getting uploaded on yt really made my day huh! I really loved how you decorated the area upstairs. That was pretty commendable for a rookie. Here are some of my tips and thoughts on the video : -Well , you lost your diamond pickaxe because it was lying on the floor all the time , and you didn't pick it up. As you already know , items despawn after 5 minutes or so , so you have to be quick and quite decisive regarding such stuff. Well, you did find more diamonds in the end though , but be mindful about stuff despawning in the future. -Regarding your question about how you can make a chair-sort of thing , you can use a stair , and place two trapdoors or wooden signs on the SIDE of the stair like you did back on the stairway. After you place the trapdoors on the side , you can either place another trapdoor on the back side of the stair , or you can place a door sticked to the back side of the stair , the door would provide it a "grand" look. You could sort of sit on the chair if you crouch while being on top of it , although that also requires a bit of imagination as well :) -You could add hay bales to your barn area for aesthetics , but I personally think you pretty much wasted a lot of it. You could craft that into wheat and make a ton of bread with it. You can always feed them wheat yourself , but that doesn't heal them or anything , wheat is just used to breed them with another animal of the same kind. Plus , they won't be actually eating hay bales anyway. -It would be better to take your bed with you and sleep periodically if you're exploring actual landscapes. If you're just going to explore caves or if you're going for just mining , it would be better to keep mining even in the night because there will be monsters in the caves at all times of the day/night. -I painstakingly watched you mine thousands of blocks just in the search of iron. As I mentioned in my comment on the previous video , if your objective is to just find iron , then it would be better to go into small-to-medium sized caves because in most cases they have a lot of exposed iron in there and a relatively less number of monsters. But one must imagine Sisyphus happy. And your hard work led you into a lush cave. I know you'll be enjoying it like anything with all its amazing aesthetics , and you would find so much more resources like iron and maybe even more diamonds. But remember to mine em' with an iron pickaxe! I hope we get the next episode soon , and I know you'll be having a lot of fun exploring the lush cave. If you've reached here , as always , thanks for reading.

We love seeing the little improvements you make as you learn and get better at the game, even the little things like placing fences on the ground instead of clicking on the sides of other fences. Congrats on starting your world immediately after the update that added new wolf variants. Our roommates' server that we usually play on is older so we're gonna have to travel literally over ten thousand blocks to find newly loaded areas for the new wolf variants like Buddy to spawn in. The danger with breaking chests to re-sort them is that items will despawn, and looks like that's what happened to your diamond pick :/ You can limit the sizes of paintings that will be placed by placing temporary blocks in the way, since they will usually be placed as the biggest size that will fit in a space. Watermelons and pumpkins both need an adjacent dirt block (tilled soil won't work) to grow the actual fruit on, but once the stalk is fully mature they'll just keep creating the fruit indefinitely, so it's best to put them at the outer edges of your farm. There's plenty of ways of making furniture, but for a couch you might use stairs of a different color from anything else (i.e. bricks, stone bricks, or quartz), and then use a sign, trapdoor, or differently angled stair at the end for the armrest. Honestly look up minecraft furniture ideas; there are a ton of good designs out there. Gravel can be dug more efficiently with a shovel, but what's MOST efficient, albeit requires some timing, is to break the bottom block of gravel and place a torch where that block was. When gravel falls on a torch it breaks automatically so that can clear a whole column at once. Also as far as tool use goes, anything that's not the specific tool has the same mining speed: if you're digging dirt, an axe, your fist, a porkchop, or another block of dirt are equally efficient, so just use whatever you have if you don't have the tool on hand (obviously this only applies to stuff that will drop regardless like dirt or wood; for stone you should pretty much always use a pickaxe). Oh and when mining, you might wanna leave your dog at home. So many have died when running around excited to be involved only to get in the way of a pickaxe swing. Thankfully they can be healed with any sort of meat, including rotten flesh. Finally, don't be discouraged; sometimes when strip mining we find half a stack of diamonds in 15 minutes, other times it takes half an hour or more to find any iron. Also wow, stone diamond ore (as opposed to the darker deepslate) is super rare because diamonds get more common the deeper you go, usually only spawning near the bottom of the world! Once you get an iron pick you can collect those diamonds and redstone and make some fancy gear!

The best place to find iron is at Y level 16. Similarly, diamonds are most abundant at the bottom of the world and decrease as you go higher; finding *diamond ore* in normal stone rather than deepslate is uncommon. (There's no practical difference between the stone and deepslate versions of any ore, it's just a cool thing that you found!)

I just finished bingeing all 14 episodes. One thing you need to know is that you can craft 2x2 recipes directly from your inventory. Open up your inventory, to the right of your avatar is a 2x2 crafting grid. In this grid you can place a log, or a stack of logs, in a single slot and craft planks. You can place 2 planks, one on top of the other, and craft sticks. If you fill all 4 slots with a plank, you can craft a crafting table. You don't have to keep running back to your crafting table to make planks or sticks. Also, if you place 2 wool, one in each of the bottom slots, you can craft carpet. I would suggest messing around with your crafting table and grid and actually place the items in the slots versus clicking on the recipe to craft. It will help you a lot with memorizing the common items you need to craft all the time. Redstone is the "wiring" in Minecraft. You should place a lever down on the ground, place the repeater on the block in front of the lever, and finally the sticky piston in front of the repeater. Then flip the lever!! Now let your imagination run wild! I love seeing you learn the game organically, and seeing the sheer joy when you find something new! Keep the series going! This game has so much in it that you could easily do 500 episodes in the same world and never get bored!!! Never run out of things to do and learn.

A nice video as always! Here are a couple of tips i thought of while watching the vid: 1. Use a Hoe (2 sticks above eachother with 2 cobblestone on top next to eachother) for the leaves, faster and no durability los on your axe. 2. Since you discovered trapdoors: you might be able to use them to decorate your bed (like a railing for your bed or something) 3. A dog only needs bones to be tamed, if you see his tail pointing down give him some meat so he can heal.

14:19 it's not terribly intuitive, but the intended tool for leaves (the tool that breaks them *fastest* ) is the hoe! Craft up a cheap wooden or stone hoe, and in addition to helping with gardening, it will take a lot of the headache out of tree clearing!

use shears to get grass and leaves from trees to throw in composter. you can use extra hay(not bales) and tree saplings in the composter. use the bone meal to grow trees faster. putting four saplings together in a square(planted). will make one of the giant trees. only works for jungle, dark oak and spruce trees. spruce will change your soil. you can just dig it up and place it back down to return to normal if you want.

You’ll have lots of diamonds before you know it so don’t worry too much about the diamond pick. Because it’s first time playing I’d suggest making new chests with the wood you have instead of starting the 5 minute despawn timer. It’s a lesson we all have to learn in the world of Minecraft 🤣

Use the shears to get the vines on the trees for the house If you put thr trap door on thr opposite side of the ladder it is easier. Make a stone cutter and smelt your cobblestone to make more pleasing looking blocks cheaper. At least IMHO.😊😊 Also there is a large variety of copper blocks available with the recent update, including light bulbs.

you can actually put wolf armor on your dog its made from armadillo scute. armadillo drop it but you can brush it off using a brush. compared to regular player armor, wolf armor will take all damage from the wolf so it's very useful and you can repair the wolf armor by using the armadillo scute. you can also dye the wolf armor, just put any dye on a couldron (fill the couldron with water and dye the couldron) you can make any color by mixing different colors of dye.

Right clicking on an animal with the correct food feeds it, and if you feed 2 animals they will make a baby together. cows eat wheat, chicken eat seed, pigs eat carrots or potatoes, etc. If you hold that food in your hand they also follow you. There is some cooldown to mating. You can enclose 2 cows and mate them until you get many. If you make shears you can take wool from a sheep without killing it. its a waste to kill sheep. you can also mate sheep with wheat right click on a villager that has a job to see what items it trades. librarians trade enchantments you can place on your weapons for emeralds. farmers will give you emeralds for food. trading villagers change which items they trade, but after you trade once the trades are locked that way.

Light Blue stones - you correctly guessed, those are diamonds. You need to find you Iron pickaxe. I usually carry a bunch of Stone pickaxes to miine regular stone/tuff/deepslate, but I also carry Iron pcikaxe as soon as I can make one, just to mine those rare ores. Once you can enchant your pickaxe with Mending enchantment, you no longer to carry stone pickaxes. Mending mean every time you pick up some experience orbs (those tiny cyan orbs), your tool will be repaired based on the amound of xp you pick up. It is considered by many to be the most useful enchantment in the game. You can get it by using villagers, but you will need to make a lectern and find a villager without a job. Once you do, lock him inside a house with yourself, place the lectern - he will turn into a Librarian. Trade with him and check which book he sells. If it is mending - perfect, Lock him in his house and do not touch that lectern ever again. This will protect him and allow you to buy unlimited number of those books. I just use Dirt blocks to lock in the villagers. If he has another book - mine the lectern with an axe and place it again. The villager will become unemployed and tehn librarian once more, but with a random other book to sell. Keep resetting his job until you get Mending. Now all you need is to get Emeralds to buy the book. My favorite method is to plant a lot of Sugar Cane, make lots of paper and trade it in to a Cartographer villager, tha you make by setting Certgraphy table.

Making locator maps: First u need 2 explore around ur nearby rivers to gather every piece of sugarcane u can find. They are not tall like the individual bamboo shoots. Sugarcane are the smaller green shoot clusters that grow in the dirt & sand blocks alongside water sources. After u have collected 20 to 40 pieces of sugar cane, u will want to replant them close to ur house. U have to plant each stock next to a water block. The easiest way to do this is to dig a series of straight lines in ur yard or near ur house. Fill each trench line with water using buckets & ur nearby water source. Once ur water lines are all full, u can replant all ur sugarcane in the dry dirt or sand lines that are between ur water lines. U can either wait for the stocks to grow over time, or you can expedite the process by touching the stocks, or anything that grows, flowers, trees, dirt blocks, etc, with bone meal. Bone meal can be made using bones at ur crafting table. A full grown sugarcane shoot will grow 4 blocks high, but u can harvest it anytime it is at least 2 blocks high or higher. Just make sure when u harvest ur sugarcane shoots, do not harvest the bottom most blocks connected to the ground. Leave the ground shoots alone so u will have a continuous harvest & supply of sugar cane. You will use a lot of sugarcane for paper in the future because it’s not just for making maps, but also for books, & book shelves which are critical for enchanting & enchanting tables to put magic on weapons, tools, & armor. But I digress; once u have harvested about 40 to 60 pieces of sugarcane, bring them to ur regular crafting table to turn them into paper. Once u have a stack of paper do not, I repeat, DO NOT make a bunch of regular Empty Maps. Empty Maps are a useless waste of resources. U are looking to make several Empty “LOCATOR” Maps. To make locator maps u will need more than paper, u will also need to make several COMPASSES. A compass can be made at ur crafting table using 4 iron ingots & 1 piece of red stone powder. U should make at least 3 compasses so u will need 12 iron ingots,& 3 red stone powders. Once u have ur 3 compasses & at least 24 pieces of blank paper, go to ur regular crafting table & make 3 Empty LOCATOR Maps. Do not, not, not, accidentally make 3 Empty Maps. Make sure ur making 3 Locator Maps!! Once u have successfully made ur 3 Empty Locator maps, do not attempt to look at them, or it might turn them into 3 different maps that can not be joined. U want carefully separate 1 of the 3 maps by leaving 2 stacked in your large inventory & placing just 1 map in ur hot bar inventory. When u have done that, select the 1 map from ur hot bar & just look at that map but not the other 2. After staring at the map in ur sword hand or shield hand for a second or two, u will see the map populate with ur immediate area. Unfortunately, this is too small a map to be useful as it is only a 1/4 size map. U now need to make it larger. To do this u need to use ur Cartography table. Select ur Cartography table & u will see 3 open spaces. Place ur new 1/4 Map in the top left space. On the bottom left space, place a stack of blank white paper. Do not accidentally place ur 2 other Empty locator maps. Do not even look at those or u will have to remake them. Simply place ur 1 new 1/4 map in the upper left & a stack of blank white paper in the lower left. Immediately u will notice a new 2/4 size locator map has appeared on the right side space of the Cartography table. Do not leave ur Cartography table’s menu yet. Drag the new 2/4 map that was made back up to the upper left space where u first placed ur 1/4 map. Leave the blank white paper in the lower left space. Now u will notice that another new map was made on the right side. It is a lager 3/4 size map. Repeat the last step again by dragging the new 3/4 size locator map back up to the upper left size, and u will finally have a max sized 4/4 locator map appear on the right side space of ur cartography table. At this time, back out of ur cartography table & equip ur new full sized 4/4 locator map in ur hot bar so u can select it with ur hand & look at it. Be very careful not to look at the 2 empty locator maps that should still be stacked in ur large inventory area. Once u equip & look at ur new 4/4 map, u will see it populate with the terrain of just ur immediate area. It will seem small at first but will populate with more map information as u explore, providing u are exploring with it equipped to either ur sword hand or ur shield hand. Note it will not populate new map information just sitting in your inventory. It must be equipped to a hand while u explore. I would just equip it to ur shield hand as u are walking to new areas. Anyway, u are almost finished but there is just a little more to make all ur hard work truly meaningful. Listen carefully. Once u have viewed ur new 4/4 locator map & it has populated the immediate vicinity, go once more to ur cartography table. U will need to place ur new 4/4 locator map 1 last time in the upper left space, but this time instead of placing blank white paper in the lower left space, instead u can finally place ur 2 other empty locator maps in the lower left space. Take special care not to equip those maps yet or they will get populated with the wrong information. U want to simply drag them from ur inventory directly into the lower left space of the cartography table underneath where u placed your full sized 4/4 locator map. This time, on the right side of ur Cartography table u will notice that u have made 2 additional carbon copy duplicates of ur full 4/4 locator map. U should now have 3 of the exact same map & it is now safe to look at any of them. They are all connected to each other, so as u explore while having just 1 equipped, the other 2 maps will also populate with the same information no matter where u place them. This is what u need to do to complete your project so listen carefully. 1 copy of the 3 maps should travel on ur person at all times. Whenever u go on a walk to unexplored areas make sure to have this map equipped to ur shield hand. With the second copy of the map, place it safely in a chest at ur base. This way if you die in the wild & lose ur personal map, u will always have a backup at home in a chest. Note: if u do die & lose ur map, don’t just grab ur spare to adventure with, but rather use ur spare map to remake the travel copy u lost. Simply bring ur spare back to ur cartography table along with another empty locator map, & this way u can always safely remake the map u lost & place the second copy back in ur home chest for remaking it again in the future. Lastly, & most importantly, u are going to want to hang the third and final map copy on the wall inside ur home. To do this, simply go to your regular crafting table with 8 sticks & 1 cow skin hide. This will let u craft a shadow box style picture frame that u can use to hang anything u would like to decorate ur walls with, from maps, to clocks, to fishing poles, whatever. In this case, u will hang ur picture frame somewhere in your house then select the third copy of ur 4/4 locator map & place it in the frame on the wall. This is crucially important because it will mark its location on all copies of the map with a green colored arrow pointing in the cardinal direction u happened to place it on the wall. When u move away from ur house/base/place of interest, ur character will appear as a moving “white” arrow on ur copy of the map. The fixed “green” arrow marked on ur map will be ur home or any other place of interest in which u have placed a duplicate map on the wall in a picture frame. I know this was a lot of information, but having a locator map on yourself, a backup for making more safely at ur base, & a third locator map in a picture frame on the wall of ur base will let u know at all times where u are in the world & how to get back home. This will give u the courage & confidence to boldly go out long distances from your base, to explore & even make other bases, without ever having the fear & anxiety of getting lost. Sorry for the massive text wall, but this will help u in ways u can’t even imagine right now. God bless, & thanks for ur videos! 😎

Generally when you transfer storage like that (without making a sorter made of many hoppers), you want to have a few new empty chests waiting in your new storage location (since there's no guarantee you pick up the chest you break) and an empty inventory. Break the chest and pick up as much stuff as you can til your inventory is full, run to the new storage area as fast as you can and dump all the items in the empty chest. go back and repeat until those contents have been put away and the chest is relocated to the new storage area. Repeat for each chest you destroy. Once you have all your items in chests and your chests are relocated, THEN you can start organizing. At least this is what I do because organizing when my stuff is on the floor and about to despawn any minute gives me anxiety >.>

Ok! Great progress. Just finished watching. The house is coming along quite nicely. Betty Crocker would be proud (j/k). A few notes. The bed thing is because people pick the bed up after sleeping, so it removes the respawn point. In that instance, the game checks it, doesn't see it, then sends you back to your original spawn point. It's less of an issue if you live near your spawn point (which you do, but you're a few hundred blocks away). It really just depends on if you adventure extremely far away or not. If you just place the bed and leave it (like a checkpoint), then it's not an issue. My OCD has told me to tell you this: I recommend taking the torches in your basement and moving them up 1 so you can align your chests properly. For the villager job blocks, don't worry about it. Really. If you place a job block, a villager without a trade can just go right back into that profession. Not to mention...you can actually craft their job blocks. And...if you're ever having issues with villagers...just craft a bunch of beds and place them in the villagers' houses. They'll see it as extra space and go into love mode making more villagers. Speaking of that...try to get a second sheep and cow. The wheat is for feeding two at the time so they make babies. The stuff you found was redstone. You need an iron pickaxe to pick it up. Same with diamond. That's why I was saying that you need to not use your iron or diamond pickaxe. Only use them on those special blocks. Once they break....you gotta make more.

Good morning Scott. I subscribed & started watching ur channel 3 days ago & literally binged all 13 of ur Minecraft episodes. It is so relaxing & enjoying 2 watch ur journey in this game. I’m 44 years old & play Minecraft with my wife & 10 yr old son. I’m not sure if it’s possible on Xbox, but on the PS4/PS5 u can play up to 4-way split screen couch co-op in Minecraft. Anyway, I want to teach u an extremely important quality of life improvement that I wish someone had taught me years earlier. I apologize in advance for the length of this tip, but I know it will b an exciting game changer for u, so bear with me & please read carefully. 👇🏻 Concerning MAPS and ur cartography table: In Minecraft u can make 8 different types of maps, including 4 Empty Maps of varying size, 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, & 4/4, respectively. Regular Empty Maps are almost entirely useless & won’t help u find ur way. What I’m going to teach u is how to make Empty “LOCATOR” Maps. Empty Locator Maps also can be made in 4 different sizes; 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, & 4/4, respectively. A locator map will not only show what the area looks like, but when carried will mark ur location on the map as u move. If u make duplicate copies of a locator map, u can hang a copy in a picture frame in ur house, & then u will never get lost because ur house will be marked on ur locator map as well. The locator map on ur person in either ur sword hand or shield hand will mark ur location a u move with a “white” football icon that is pointed in the direction u are facing. The duplicate locator map u leave at ur house, hanging on the wall, is linked to the map u are carrying & will automatically fill in the explored areas. Ur house will be marked on ur map with a “green” colored football, pointing in the direction of the wall u hang it on. Keep reading if u have questions about how to make these maps because it’s a little tricky.👇🏻

I love your playthrough... but you know that you can play minecraft untill the end of days and it is still is not finished.. ;-). Here are some tips that i can give you. 1. Always bring a bed with you, if you want you can put a bed on your spawn point on 0.0, and some tools and sword in a little house. You are not that far from spawn. If you die and have lost your spawnpoint, you can sleep and after respawning move on. Leave your bed up, if you are doing something dangerous, than you spawn on that bed. 2. The best location for finding Iron these days is on mountains and in caves, have not seen mountains near you, but if you go exploring, maybe they are not that far. Bring leather to make boots, so you don't get in trouble with soft snow. 3. Always bring wood, cobble or iron with you and a crafting bench so you can craft stuff when you are on the move. 4. When you go caving in the deeper caves, bring enough coal... you won't find coal lower in the caves. Happy mining! Greetings, Jessica from the Netherlands.

Here's the thing about the bed thing. When you right click on a bed(or in your case, whatever button you click to sleep. I play mouse and keyboard) it sets that as your respawn point. IF you destroy that bed, you will spawn at the spot you spawned at when you first entered the world if you die. This can be pretty frustrating if you died 1000 blocks or so from where the world spawn is and don't know the way back. I personally only use pocket beds for passing time when I know I'm safe and travelling long distances, or when I'm doing stuff near a town and I know the town could be in danger at night, I'll have a bed, or if I'm in some deep deep mines, I'll have a bed with me to set up temporary checkpoints. Just keep in mind, if you don't have a set spawn point or a bed spawn, you will spawn back at the world spawn if you die.

I have not seen this little piece of advice yet so I thought I would share, remember that you have a 2x2 crafting grid in your inventory available to you at all times without needing a crafting table. You would use this for instance to make more Jungle planks from the raw logs you have in your inventory while you are upstairs building, instead of needing to go back downstairs and use your crafting table. Or for instance when you are caving, you can always craft torches with coal and sticks because the recipe is one on top of the other. This is why when you look at your recipe book when you are just in your inventory the number of things you can craft is much less than when you are in a crafting table. I hope this helps! Enjoy your new friend Buddy :D

Wait a minute! Those diamonds you found are actually rarer than normal diamonds! Remember how I said diamonds spawn most at the bottom of the world? Well, they can spawn in stone layers too! But much more rarely. Stone diamond ore is identical to deepslate diamond ore in functionally every way! If you can find other diamonds that are below the world, mine those instead. Once you have an enchantment called silk touch, that's when recommend you mine the stone diamonds. The silk touch enchantment allows you to obtain blocks that usually drop something else, like stone will always drop stone and diamond ore will drop diamond ore!

Dogs got a MAJOR buff recently. Look up the brush recipe and use it on the Armadillos, then check to see what you can craft with what you get. 4. All the comments about iron at level 7 just boil down to a distribution, like a bell curve, with 7 at its peak. The reality though is that the simplest way to get iron (by mining) is above ground, in "stony" biomes. You passed some early in the series near the original village, laying out on the surface in a "stony shore", but "stony peaks" are hands down where you'll see NUMEROUS pockets of iron just visible by walking around in daylight. That said, without having one close, mining is still your safest option. 5. The bed thing depends on your skill/experience level and where you settle. If you carry a bed with you, and you die after sleeping in it and picking it back up, you have no spawn point, so you are sent back to where you very first began the series. So if you're caving/mining, it's honestly probably not worth it. If you're traveling just over land, then you can always see when the sun is going down and sleep immediately and it's not as much as an issue for a beginner. 6. Melons and pumpkins grow NEXT to the block they are planted on. The good news is they do not need to be replanted like other crops. The bad news is you need an open space next to the crop to get the yield. 7. You mentioned the randomness of worlds; the fact that you have both a jungle temple and a desert temple within visible distance from your home is pretty rare. One idea for you is to set up "waypoints" or mini settlements in directions you tend to travel. You might find these structures worth taking and modifying so you have extra beds at other places than home base if you choose to. 8. I think you started to say "I wish you could climb vines" but you didn't finish the thought? You can. There are actually several types of vines, and they can all be used like ladders--though some of them are not attached to walls. 9. The water bucket is one of the best "saving grace" tools in the game. If you find yourself on fire, or you need to cross lava, or even have mobs chasing you, you can pour the water out to help (extinguishes fire, solidifies lava, pushes mobs or at a minimum affects their pathfinding). You can also place it above you to swim up a wall/ledge and collect it after, or ride it down a long drop. That's all I recall at the moment. Keep it up! You're doing great, and the learning curve is normal. Glad you are enjoying yourself!!

put a carpet on top of a fence post so you can jump on it to cross over a fence but nothing else can. no need for fence gates all over. crouch to place a sign on your chests to label them. then just tap it to type whatever on each sign.

6:55 there are a number of things water will wash away (including carpets, string, redstone dust, grass, and torches), but anything it can't wash away will block its flow, even if it's not a full block (like pressure plates, signs, and slabs). Some (but not all!) types of non-full blocks, including stairs and slabs, can be "waterlogged" (filled with water) _if_ you place the water directly into it, even though water can't flow into it from nearby. This can make for some interesting dynamics in a variety of situations (such as building water features, for example).

Yeah, I'd recommend digging another basement floor and building with stone. Then, use that room for furnaces and other things involving lava. It'll lower the risk of burning your house down. Also, if you ever build with redstone or similar items, specifically items that break when water flows over them like carpet. Try not to place it next to it it may be easy to clean the water. But if you have carpet with a complex design or redstone machinery it can be a hassle to fix.

According to a Minecraft feedback post, you can't put anything directly on carpet in Minecraft, including beds. However, some players have used carpet in bed designs, such as placing it around the base of the bed or covering a top made of dark

55:20 You can see the diamond pickaxe on the ground 57:59 All the stuff that was in the center chest is gone so it is lost. You do have a ton of wood... I would say next time just make some extra chests lol They aren't that expensive. Chests are basically just 2 logs so a single tree will almost always get you 3 or more chests. Its better than having the resources you spent a long time collecting disappearing on the ground. 😅😅😅 Unfortunately value wise in terms of difficulty to find you'll find about 1 diamond for about every 32-64 iron you find.

I really appreciate all the advice man! I do believe I found more diamond at the end of the episode, and I do plan on mining that with the iron I have. Then I've got to discover that new place! I think the next episode is going to be a lot of diving down deep!

1:59:25 Strip mining like you're doing is probably the slowest way to get iron. Caving is the best way. Head down into that massive cave that you saved the sheep from earlier.

1:56:28 It doesn't have to be diamond. Iron can mine all ores except netherrite, which is only found in the nether. Only a diamond pickaxe can mine obsidian as well but it's not an ore.

When placing the trap doors, I think you can use a "helper" block - place that block ON your stairs, place teh trap door onto it, then remove the block. I think the trap door will stay in place.

I’d keep your wood in a separate chest from your stone. There are so many different types of wood logs, planks, slabs, stairs, trap doors, sticks, signs, etc; that you will want your wood in a different chest. Likewise, there are so many different types of stone, that you will probably anticipate 2 dedicated chests just for stone.

17:30 Actually there are bricks in Minecraft - both the small red industrial kind (made by cooking clay balls into individual bricks, and then combining those into a block) and big grey stone bricks (made by smelting cobblestone into stone in the smelter, and then combining the stone blocks into stone bricks). There's also Smooth Stone which is what you get if you smelt stone (i.e. smelt cobble twice over), which is a sort of decorative stone cube for large paved areas, and mud bricks made from mud which are brown. 29:00 It is a bit of a shame you've got Bedrock - the PC version of the game is *extremely* moddable, and among the most popular mods are a bunch that add decorative furniture! Personally, though, I'd just put a chest at the foot of your bed. Who needs a wardrobe when you can have a footlocker? You can also use fences and pressure plates to simulate small tables, although they're unfortunately not functional. The village had a couple designs. 35:00 You can make sticks on your own. Just two blocks of wood for four sticks. I'd generally keep a pretty big stockpile of sticks at that, they're used in a LOT of recipes. Be careful batch crafting them though as they can fill your inventory quite easily. 43:00 You got a dog! Bully for you! Dogs are pretty useful... Though in my experience they also kinda die easy. You can actually armor them these days though which should help (and look boss as heck in the meantime) See, Skeletons hate dogs, and dogs (and wolves) will attack Skeletons on sight for the bones. Wolves also attack sheep which is probably why yours haven't been around recently... I don't think dogs will attack sheep but you should be cautious. Dogs will also attack anything you attack, which makes them useful companions on journeys. If they get too far away from you, they'll just teleport to your location. Just be careful about lava pools; like most mobs Dogs have very little self-preservation around lava. All this makes dogs super useful, much like cats. You might try to get a great number of both types of pet and put them around your fence to keep creepers and skeletons away. I don't believe there's an equivalent for spiders, but Spiders become non-hostile during the day, and Endermen are harmless as long as you don't make eye contact, and that's most of the things that'll spawn during the night-time. You could also just keep it inside as a companion though. Once you have enough iron to make an anvil, and an empty nametag looted from some dungeon somewhere, you can actually name your pets! 54:00 I'd be careful breaking multiple chests at a time! Remember, stuff left on the floor WILL decay away after 5 minutes. That's a decently long time, especially if you're just going back and forth in your house, but it'd suck to lose some of your special dungeon loot just because you were too slow organizing your storage! 1:00:01 ...Yeah, like that. 1:09:00 Paintings decide what they are based on the largest possible size they can be given the space around them. It's not very intuitive at first, but you can get the hang of it. Try using torches to decide what size you want the painting to be by ringing the wall around where you want it to be.

1:27:50 I believe what people are referring to regarding the slab-stair shelf trick is to put the slab on the block above where you want the "shelf", on the bottom half of the block. Then you can use the slab to put the stairs on upside down, then cut the slab away. You have to use the slab because it tricks the stairs into going "Oh, there's a block above me, and the player is putting me on the top half of a block, they must intend for me to be upside down". Otherwise you just wind up with upright stairs and no shelf. I already gave you a couple of design tips in the last video, like using rings of oak planks to make the jungle planks pop more. You should be aware also that you can put four logs in the crafting bench to get "X Wood" where X is the type of tree/log. This is just a log block that uses the bark texture on all sides, whereas the log block only uses them on four. Could be useful. You can also craft lanterns using iron nuggets and torches, which you've done before. Lanterns act just like torches, but don't produce a flame effect, can be placed on the ceiling (and thus hung by chains should you want them to be), and have different graphics for being placed on the ground, walls, or ceiling. They also don't pop in water as torches do. Alas, they're pretty expensive, so you won't be using these to light your mines or explored caves. 1:51:00 BTW, a bit of pickaxe details for you: A wooden pickaxe can dig a measly 60 blocks A stone pickaxe is twice as durable and can dick 132 blocks An Iron pickaxe is twice again as tough and will last for 251 blocks Golden pickaxes dig almost as fast as diamond... But break after a pathetic 30 blocks Diamond pickaxes last forever and can dig a total of 1,562 blocks - over 6 times as much as an iron pick Netherite pickaxes are even more durable and can dig a little over 2000 blocks... But Netherite is so insanely rare you're unlikely to ever see a pick made of it. Stone picks can mine iron, iron picks mine diamond and redstone, and diamond picks mine obsidian. 1:56:20 That's Redstone, you've got some of it in your chest. And yes, you need an iron pick to mine it. Ironic, as you were talking about making an iron farm - Redstone will be necessary for doing so, which does indeed mean you need plenty of iron to begin farming it; although once the farm is running you can produce it in truly absurd quantities so it's still well worth it if you can handle the intricate design.

By the way, most of the stuff in the Lush biome is dug with a shovel or a hoe - clay is a shovel resource, and I think moss is hoe. You can dig them with a pickaxe, but it's as slow as using your fists to do so regardless of the quality of the pick
