Un château magnifique où je suis né, où je fus baptisé en sa chapelle, et où j'y ai vécu ma plus tendre enfance dorloté par la chatelaine, une dame merveilleuse de gentillesse, pendant que mon père (maître de chais) gérait la viticulture et la vinification et que ma mère travaillait à la cueillette de légumes dans l'immense serre (disparue) en contre-bas du château pour exporter à l'international. J'ai pilé de mes pieds nus les vendanges, et j'ai senti les grappes éclatées sous mon petit poids. Les premières senteurs de mon enfance furent les effluves de merlot, de cabernet sauvignon, de cabernet franc, de sémillon, de sauvignon et de muscadelle... une vidéo qui me remplit d'émotions quand je revois les forêts qui abritaient nos frêles cabanes, la piscine où l'on s'ébattait tous ensemble, quand je repense au grand chêne multi centenaire du château, à la fraîcheur de ses couloirs, à ses escaliers tortueux en colimaçon dont certaines marches en pierre s'affaissaient en leur centre, à la lourdeur de la porte du lieu de résidence des chatelains constituée de bois massif et de métal forgé qui me permettait de les rejoindre, au pigeon apprivoisé qui m'accompagnait comme un animal de compagnie, aux grandes étables (disparues depuis) qui abritaient les boeufs, vaches, cochons et moutons, aux périodes de sang où mon père (également ancien boucher) tuait le cochon et les bêtes et où je me cachais pour ne pas les entendre hurler leur désespoir... Nous étions une grande famille d'italiens et nous partagions les dépendances du château avec une famille nombreuse marocaine employée également à la serre et à la vigne. Si Zoulira partageait ma classe, mes compagnons de jeux se nommaient Yaya et Nordine. Que sont-ils devenus depuis 45 ans ? Certains diront que nous étions privilégiés, je leur répondrai que oui. Ce fut réellement un pur bonheur...
