Meet Deputy C. Mathes in our Traffic Enforcement Unit. In 2020, we distributed one Chevy Camaro to our traffic enforcement deputies in each of our 5 districts so every area would have designated personnel to address traffic complaints and issues. The purpose of the ghost Camaros is to support our multi-pronged efforts to get dangerous drivers off our streets so that we might ultimately shed our region’s dubious distinction for having the nation’s deadliest roads.

My ticket writing rule is anything over 15 Miles an hour equals a ticket, no insurance ticket and I'm having the car tow....

Must be nice. We couldn’t tow for no insurance in my state since insurance for us, by law must be dismissed if they show the court proof they had insurance. And we could not go off what the return says since those are not completely accurate. I would never feel comfortable if I was forced to tow for no insurance. Papers get lost, and apps don’t always work. And I am not going to call around to insurance companies and see if they were actually valid.

Anytime I got pulled over and didn't have my insurance card on me I just tell the cop to look it up and prove that I do got insurance and never got ticket for it

Nope, not a camera issue. I was rear ended and the person did not have insurance. The HCSO just let them drive off again. I was really pissed.

In Maryland, your vehicle gets towed with a mandatory court appearance. There's 2 separate charges, one for knowingly driving an uninsured vehicle and one for the owner allowing someone else to drive an uninsured vehicle.
