@paulmoran8530 Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. Hope you enjoy the game 😀 are you doing pre-cons to get started or going right for some booster boxes? Also curious, what other tcgs have you been into before discovering Sorcery
@paulmoran8530 Жыл бұрын
I've got the precons and also 2 x booster boxes - a mate got in on the KS and another will be playing also...for now, hope to grow our player base - we are all currently playing Flesh and Blood (which is fantastic!! there will be no change here :) ) Sorcery is still quite new here is Australia as far as uptake - but I personally think it looks great ...will appeal to children of the 80's and 90's :) who love classic fantasy and gameplay ...@@TedsBasementPodcast

Hello, very good interview. I can now clearly see the commitment and professionalism behind the game I supported (Kickstarter). I have been looking forever for a complement game to MTG (Probably mixing booth during an evening with friends). My first reason behind my support is the art, then the gameplay (What it looks like, because i didnt try it), then the collectibility aspect of it and finally, the potential it has to appeal to enough players to create some momentum. I have a strange feeling that this is the beginning of something big... Continue your good work!

I did a version of MTG on the grid with a commander format, having the separate land deck was very cool and moving around the board was fun

Ted, enjoyed the interview. This is Nemaraci btw! But I was wondering if you had any insight on how sorcery planned to maintain momentum/market interest with sets so far apart or if it’s covered in the second part. Thanks

Great question, I don;t think we cover it to any level of detail ot at all. I honestly can't remember the interview was a week ago. But I would love to have Erik back on sometime, I can add this to my questioning

I don't know where they are printing. Maybe someone else reading this does and they can comment.
@tysnow95242 жыл бұрын
OK I'm going to ask the question with all the alpha print boxs that will be hitting the market it seems like rudy did more damage then good. The amount of dumping that will happen if the product dosen't reach a high 2k-3k will be alot it will cause the price to drop even lower and the game will crash this is/was my worrie. Secondly with such a high alpha run revised will also crash because everyone that wanted in already has cards. Yes I understand all tcg have a revised edition but those game didn't have a 4million plus doller backing. Yes I like the passion behind the game I like Erik's vision for the game but that's not a great way to start off the game. Will this make it more affordable sure but the risk of loss has gotten very high and I'm starting to see people like droughts and decks admit that they have buyers regrets.
@TedsBasementPodcast2 жыл бұрын
This is one of those things where fans should only back TCGs they believe in, don't do it out of hype do it because there is something about it that they love. This will aid in the hands holding product being stronger. It will also aid in the demand outpacing the supply, even with the way they printed to demand until KS ended. For example, there are 6k KS backers, if most of them backed because there is something about the game they love, then most will not be selling because they "love it". Plus, between now and the time boxes hit the market, more people will become fans given how great the quality is of the game and the art, etc. This means, for example, there could be 10k fans by then. Put that all together you have most KS backers not selling and you have thousands more fans who want it than who backed. Which means demand is higher than supply, those new fans will revert to buying revised. and the alpha will hold its value. I don't know the future; this is just another possible path.
@tysnow95242 жыл бұрын
@@TedsBasementPodcast umm I question that most will not be selling because they love it part when I backed the game it was at 1.3mill cad then Rudy's video dropped and the pledges shot up to 5mill cad in 2 weeks a diffrents of 384% increase that is not a normal increase thats an inflated increase. So your telling me that all of a sudden the game goes up 3.5X naturally halfway through its ks time frame. That seems very suspicious. TED point to another example were that has happened I bet you can't.
@TedsBasementPodcast2 жыл бұрын
@@tysnow9524 I don't know the reality of it, this is just a speculation. I do however know my own reality, which is that I saw Rudy's video, then I did a little research on my own after that, and I did fall in love same day. And that love has not faded for me. I fell deep into the art, the history behind some of the artists, and then the gameplay was the final hook. I discovered all that in time to back the KS and coordinate an interview with Erik. So it was nearly love at first sight for me. It could be something similar for many others too, that part I can't "know".
