Hi everyone! I do just want to make clear that buying hamsters from a pet store should be your last option. I would highly recommend adopting or rescuing a hamster instead. This is because pet stores treat their animals cruelly and support improper care such as small cages, poor diets, etc… Not to mention, they get their animals from pet mills, which is horrible. However, I did get Fawn from a pet store. I have looked into various options, but all of the hamsters I could find to adopt or rescue were located hours away, which is why I ultimately chose to buy from a pet store. Once again, please try to avoid pet stores at all costs unless it’s your only option. 🐹🤍

aw, she’s so cute. i just got my first hamster, a syrian, on Thursday! she’s brown and a little black.. i named her Eevee! she’s named after the pokémon. i hope Fawn settles in well and i’m sorry for your loss with Nilla 😢

Is that coco bark I see? You use it as it is or do you do something before using it?

Yes, that is coco bark. Before putting it your hamster’s cage, I’d recommend sanitizing it. I think you can sanitize it by putting it in the oven on low heat, but I’d double check that!

This was a cute video but please refrain from buying hamsters from pet stores. Their genetics are terrible bc they are bred in mills, your supporting their animal cruelty by purchasing one of their hams, and another will just be put in its place. I understand your intentions where in the best place but next time plz consider a rescue or rehoming app ❤

Thank you for the advice! Although I’d like to mention that I did spent a lot of time looking into places to adopt, rescue, etc… but there weren’t any hamsters located near me. All of them were multiple hours away. I’ve been searching all throughout the year, but have had no luck. I definitely tried though, since I understand that pet stores are no where near a good place to buy pets. I just made a pinned comment to warn people of this as well. I should have made this more clear in the video. Once again, thank you. I will continue to look into places to adopt and rescue for the future.🤍🐹
