I had two horses at one time When I was in better health, and I had couple of Highly Trusted experienced Riders that would often ride with me, and I was able to care for them. I could not agree with you more having the two horses was really amazing and it took everything I had. I sold my younger mayor to a very close friend when my health started failing. I have kept my older rescue horse for 20 years, and I have an immediate family members helping me care for him when I am unwell. I left a barn where I was coaching, therapeutic riding. I understood it was always a business. However, I walked away when I walked around and saw there was too many horses not enough paddock horses were getting thrush etc. The saying just because you can does not mean you should Has been my mantra in a general sense for many years. The road to hell is paved with the best intentions. Joker has my heart and I can’t imagine leaving him in a stall he comes and goes as he pleases! Thanks for speaking out! I find my mindset is very similar to yours, and what you share with your videos. I also really, Appreciate You are not outright mean to anybody that does not deserve it, especially children!

That girl is a liar. That horse in that picture is EITHER - Barteld 292 and Pyt 325 that her MOTHER trained while working at the Ghost Ranch with her family in Wrightwood, California. No such thing as a WORLD championship show. AND if it was, you would have to travel to Frisienland, Netherlands. I know all this from watching Friesian Horses on KZbin.

My 2 horses shared a 70 acre paddock. They had the most beautiful life! It was such a joy to watch them from the kitchen window as I did the dishes, running in the open field just being horses. The golden rule for me is if I don't have land, I don't have horses.

Same here! I had 2 horses on 10 acres, then later, 2 horses on 40 acres. I'm trying to buy another 40 acres so I can buy horses again, retire, and spend the remainder of my life living with and loving horses. I would never own horses if I couldn't provide them with at least 10 acres for 2 (because every horse deserves at least one friend).

So I board my horses and this past year, mine got put in a 40'x40' pen for a couple of months while they were working on the pasture and it was a disaster! He is generally a very level-headed horse, but he bucked me of and lost his mind when I put him in the arena. Poor dude. I'm never doing that again. I like acreage.

We have about 20 acres total, but unfortunately it's not one huge pasture as there are public dirt roads and streets in between our pastures. We have 7 horses and 4 cows currently on our 10 acre pasture. They're outside 24/7 and over the years have developed a herd dynamic (which made it quite challenging when we introduced our newest horse to the herd about 2 years ago 😅)

Sad to see this is still a trend but now with horses.

Classic click bait tactic. I despise them, but they work. Got me here & I’m going no further than the “reveal”. Raleigh is problematic on so many levels. One of my main reasons for saying this is she is very disrespectful. I will be respectful & leave it at that. TO HER FOLLOWERS: Please, please make sure you do your own research into all of the points & “information” she is presenting. Research more than three reputable sources that have credentials related to the topic & NOT just ONE GOOGLE SEARCH & NOT just the top search result. That is not research & it is biased. Also, please be respectful to people, even if you don’t agree with them. If they are being disrespectful to you, don’t engage. Be the better person & leave it alone. Respectfully, thank you if you’ve taken the time to read this.

Just so you know, Free Spirit Equestrian is one of my favorite channels. She’s in the process of looking for more land for her horses. I was not being unkind and the last I heard free speech still exists.
@claudinebonneau2751
@claudinebonneau2751 3 ай бұрын
It does still exist. However, the thing I think most people forget is taking responsibility when putting it out there. Having an opinion about something doesn’t necessarily mean you have to express it & if you think it’s necessary, do your best to present yourself & your opinion with respect & be ready to supply the sources that you base your opinion on. Be open to being wrong about something or, at the very least, be open to not knowing everything. Education, study & research are the most powerful tools to improve yourself & others & society as a whole. Opinions are not always factual & typically come from an emotionally driven perspective rather than a logically driven perspective.

Yeah, I know someone who hoarded horses. The stories I got after I volunteered to help rehome what she couldn't sell after they decided to get out of the business were terrible. After I told the husband, who was complaining to me that she just wouldn't stop buying horses they couldn't afford, to sell as many as possible in the city and if there were a few left, I would help them rehome the last ones. They dumped 13 horses on my land. And then didn't want to find them homes. They just wanted me to take care of them while they neglected them. After multiple promises to buy hay and food never happened, I slapped a lien on them. Then ended up hiring a lawyer, selling one of my horses, a truck, and a 3 horse trailer to feed them all and pay lawyers. She's been dragging this out by claiming she isn't the responsible party. Well she got that part right. There's a lot more to it but it's a mess and it's not over yet. My offer to help find a few a home quickly, like one month quickly because I needed to cut hay I'm that pasture, turned into an almost 2 year nightmare. And it's not over yet. It's the dumbest shit I've ever dealt with in my life.

I think many people view animals as stuffed toys. They want to collect them to show off and look at, but they don't consider them creatures with their own thoughts, feelings, needs, etc. I see it all the time with dogs, when people get multiple big high energy dogs, don't exercise them and are surprised when they have beharioral issues- like did you get them just to be a cute accessory to your furniture? It's just so sad to see especially considering how truly awesome animals can be when you actually put in the time

This happened in my rural part of Australia. A woman kept on 'saving' horses, let them interbreed, didn't have enough money to feed them or care for them. She was reported to animal welfare, went to court not once but three times but because she had connections to a policeman was not charged till the third attempt, eventually banned from owning horses for some years but I bet she is back at it. Every time I see a scrawny brown and white pinto I know it's one of hers and I wonder what happened to all the others.People banded together to help them, rescuing some, getting vet treatment. This woman may have served jail time for this, but she still has no concept of her wrong doing, and many horses died because of her behaviour.

@@fonjadidi oh seriously.. that is terrible. I have a neighbour who has a grudge against me (after someone visiting my property got into an arguement with him, situation turned so nasty that he's now been accused by my visitors of putting nails in front of their car tyres, sabortaging the cars of my guests) .. anyway this neighbour has at some time or another repeatedly reported me to the RSPCA in regard to my 3 chooks, my wallabies and my cat and the RSPCA lady has told me that they have to come out every time there is a report, even when they've come out a month before and found no issues or that a sick animal I had at the time I could prove that was under proper vet treatment and that the animal was in a small area as the vet had told me to keep it quiet and to quarantine it as it was contagious. I even tried going to the police over the slander and false reporting of this neighbour (neighbour reported that my wallabies were starving, though they were loose in a area together filled with plants etc they eat and one of them was actually obese from pellets they also get but they said they can't do nothing and advised me to get a lawyer to try to stop the false reporting and other stuff that neighbour did. Neighbour jumped our fence and let my animals out.. he let the contagious animal out which was supposed to be in isolation with the others which then resulted in them all ending up dying cause it then spread. It's an uncurable disease which is usually unable to be treated by vets so I lost all 4 wallabies due to my neighbour's interference, due to lumpy jaw so in the end i ended up having to have them put down including the 2 wallabies that myself had breed. (I had a rare breed that had been part of a breeding program) Neighbour also once jumped the fence and put dirt in my animals water bucket to try to set me up (they never get dirt in their bucket but it gained INCHES of dirt in their water bucket overnight, right before the RSPCA turned up for a surprise inspection over a false report. Fortunately I check the water bucket daily and discovered what had been done to their water before the surprise inspector turned up!!. So I really do not understand why the RSPCA wouldn't be following up on genuine issues. It kind of pisses me off to hear that when my neighbour has had them out to look at my animals about 8 times in the past 2 to 3 years that they are not following up on those who are actually abusing animals.

The biggest trucks at any horse sale belong to the meat dealers. Horses are sent to export abattoirs in Peterborough, South Australia, or the Meramist abattoir in Caboolture, Queensland. About 4,000 thoroughbreds a year were slaughtered at Meramist alone. Sooo i bet most of them are sold and slaughtered.

This video was soo accurate, it reminds me of my sister. She has around 20 - 25 horses on around 10 acres of pasture (that’s a generous estimation). her and her husband are horse flippers and dog breeders. I have so many horror stories from being over there. I even kept my first horse there for a few months and it wasn’t pretty but at the time I didn’t see what was wrong. The first time I said something was when she had her kids start riding/driving this yearling Shetland pony just so they could sell him for a profit. She obviously ignored my comments even going as far as to get offended.

It blew my mind the first time i saw a horse pasture with actual grass, lol. Plus, I've noticed none of the horses have behavior problems because they actually get time outside. I also took a trip to England last summer to ride at a barn that my friend has gone to multiple times and she recommended it. They had tons and tons of room. I’d say probably about 500 acres and they had 120 horses. They also had tons of workers around the barn and they were very organized. Just from what I saw they had 15 different turn out places just in the first main area which I know they have way more space than what I saw. I went riding in the mountains which was their land and there were their retired horses who live up there and run around the mountains and they drop off hay for them and they could graze all day everyday. When I arrived they were unloading a horse and the horse slipped a little down the trailer and cut his leg and j must say they did a wonderful job taking care of him. The horses there even though there are a lot are all very well taken care of and very well treated.

I share the same sentiments as you around this. It really frustrates me to see how horses are handled and treated. I just completed my first horsemanship training and was astounded at the poor conditions of the lesson facility and stalls. I see this often here in TN. There is a certain consciousness level I notice in the equestrian world. It’s an old school, passed down belief system. And as someone who is currently volunteering at a horse sanctuary and in training to bring equine coaching and mindfulness to humans, I feel that my beliefs, views and standards is not the norm. It breaks my heart tbh. Thank you for speaking into this! ❤

I'm super excited about this vid! Hoping it spreads a good message, and assuming from the poll put up a few days ago its going to cover the stupid "trend" of more is better for not only horses but a lot of other animals. Such a big issue within animal keeping communities from the reptile hobby to livestock, really needs to be addressed and stopped to be honest. Personally the less animals the better, more time to bond and get to know them. I always see so many popular creators with so so many animals kind of as if they're collectables. Never understood it unless of course its a herd/flock animals. But even still you never need over 3 especially if you're caring for them correctly!

My boy lives on 2+ acres with a retired mare. It doesnt always have grass so he gets extra hay too. Welfare aside, stalling takes extra time cleaning that you could be spending with your horse. With a full time job, the pasture board is perfect because all my barn time is with my horse.

At one point we did have 27 horses on our property, but it was due to the fact that there were 4 of us kids and we didn’t want to give up our childhood horses when we moved up in level. So we kept all the childhood horses along side our new horses. But we live in rural northern NY with well over 100 acres of open pasture and trails in the pasture for them to roam. We also had multiple run in sheds (horses that were in regular work lived in the barn but got daily all day turnout the others lived out 24/7) , plenty of clean water sources, plenty of hay and anyone that needed extra feed and supplements got their respective feed/supplements. We just couldn’t bring ourselves to let go of the horses that gave us so many beautiful memories. The last of the original childhood horses passed away this past year at 42, she was our Belgian mare who used to be our grandparent’s harness mare (grandpa would hitch her up every nice evening and bring his wife on sunset buggy rides with her). But if you have a good reason for it (like, many siblings that ride competitively but don’t want to sell their beloved childhood horses). Plenty of grooming, attention, company with other horses, and so much room to roam. We also have a secondary massive pasture we use when we need to rest the other. But it sucks when people just don’t have the space and resources and keep bringing horses in.

She won't acknowledge your comment because it goes against what she was trying to "prove" in the video. Notice everyone else praising her she saw their comment. I think your farm sounds amazing. And im like you, we dont just discard what isnt to use to us anymore we owe these horses our life. We have over 100 acres also and have 20+ horses, cattle for Beef, chickens you name it. And every single animal gets undivided attention and specialized attention, everyone has shelter 24/7. Is it the prettiest? Heck no, but everyone has 24/7 care and it's almost 65 animals. Every one of our horses except the 3 retired offer something for the kids, ourselves, the farm, they aren't just pets we know what we got ourself into. Notice the first example in the video was katie van slyke, I bet this girl doesn't even know how many acres katie and her family have combined on the same road. Or why she made that video at all, most people who don't know farm life are generally just curious or dont have access to see a farm at all. Not to mention the care those animals get 24/7. She should have made it more specific as to "people having too many horses on not enough land" I don't know. But to talk about not enough land in her video then show examples of other creators who have 100's of acres is absurd. She loves drama. Spends more time wondering who she's gonna talk shit about next versus worrying about her own horses and their little trick training. Do I think that many horses needs to be on 7 acres heck no! We can all agree appropriate acreage per horse/livestock always. But comments like yours and people who put in the work to take care of multiple horses/livestock for their whole lives gets ignored because she doesn't want to feel wrong ever😂

@@lindsayhudson3745 I agree, a common theme around many peoples accounts is that if you challenge their perspective they won’t even come back with something. I agree with her on some things but also not, there’s always more to the story then what’s being posted or in one video. She honestly lost the majority if not all respect from me on her video about pit bulls a few years ago.

@abbytheredwolf174 yess!! Same here I agree to a certain level with her, but I totally am with you she's lost my respect as well because she has none to give. A lot of the crap she talks about other riders who are very successful in the industry is all coming from jealousy in my opinion. She gets mad when people are born into their farm and keep the farm going. So deeply she'd rather watch AG life fail and be no more. She's lost every bit of respect from me and I use to watch her every new video. Now, nope. She caters to the non horse people to give them fuel.

I think that as an American, it might be difficult to understand that in Europe, we simply don’t have as much space and certainly when we do it’s extremely expensive because we are much more densely populated. I have 3 horses on 1.2acres however, their livery facility they were at before they were in a stable for 6+ months of the year with no turnout and they were out 24/7 in the summer. For me, I prefer to have them at home on a smaller amount of land but can live out 24/7, they also have access to hay 24/7 and a feed per day. In an ideal world I would love for my horses to have so much more space however the reality is that, it is almost impossible to find land here, as farmers do not want to sell agricultural land. When I moved to France I looked at every stable within a 20km radius from where I live and 0 offered turnout during the winter.

I have my three mares dry lotted on 2 acres (there is some grass it’s just not long enough for them to eat), because two of them have metabolic issues and aren’t allowed any grass. Of course I feed them 4 times a day according to their needs, with 24/7 access to hay. Where I live there is people that have 100s of acres and their horses eat grass and have all that land to roam, but they still look unwell… whereas my horses look very healthy. part of that is I think horses are all different with different needs, grass isn’t a one feeds all. People always say a happy horse is a horse with pasture, well what about horses like two of mine that could have to be put down from eating grass! I think as long as the horses are healthy and happy how they are kept isn’t that big of a deal (unless they are stalled 24/7).

I think this is a huge problem in the pet community in general. I have 17 animals, I got them with my own money and did extensive research before purchasing or adopting them. They all get the adequate husbandry they need because I know I can afford to care for them, but I see so many people impulse buying animals just because they can or because they “look cool” or “their kid wants it”. I think it’s always important to put disclaimers in “all my pets” videos to discourage people from buying and buying and buying animals they can’t care for. And always research before adopting or shopping responsibly! Ignorance kills.

The barn i ride at has about 18 horses, and the barn has GIGANTIC fields! Like it even has acces into a big forest! Its so fun to see the horses run around and graze around freely in the fields. 2 gigantic feilds with like 5-6 horses in each, then one a tiny smaller with the stallion an the 2 colts, then one casual size, enought o run around freely, and stuff for the one retired, lame horse. We have a outdoor arena and the xc is in the big fields. We actually have only 6 stables inside the barn bc the horses stay in the pasture all the time. If some of the horses are lame or sick, they stay inside the stable for the night, but outside at day. In winter times the stallion and the foals sleep inside at night and the retired too. The barn owner says she works with horses 98% and ride 2%, still loves her life. She has a 15 yr old daughter and a 17 yr old son. The daughter loves riding and owns a pony called gerogie there, still in lessons ofc, she outgrew him now so she now rides one named Teo and one named Vitiris mostly. If you have ridden there long enough and ur experinenced enough, you can part lease them. Like ride on hacks on the days you pick. Like only 4 of the horses doesnt have part loaners. Every horse gets ridden atleats 3 times a week, me personally loans a pony named Viking. Hes great. I ride him on hacks as part lease with some of my other barn friends who lease others, and on lessons wednesdays. Also on thursdays i help in newbie lessons for example help leading or just come walking on the hack / help on arena. Since i help on lessons i sometimes get to ride free if the lesson i help in has gymkana and someone has no one to ride with. One arena is rnough for us even if its many horses. The big girls (15 years) all part lease a horse (many days a week) and during the summer they compete. Xc, dressage, jumping etc. im so happy i can get opprotunities just by lessons :) also when you come to the lessons, you all pick ur horse to ride, if two wants the same horse then the one who rode the horse most recently picks another horse. Then you get them in, and you groom them propperly. Like behind their legs, around their ears, under the mane, under the festhers and more. Also pick hooves and stuff. You learn to tack up (most horses ride bitless too, they also dont ride in saddle but like a saddle pad with some rings u can hold too if ur scared. It gives a more natural seat and steering and a good experinence, i love my barn

She has a really nice approach to training with starting a horse in liberty work and riding bitless. The other girls parents actually own that entire barn, her personal horses are 2 I think and the rest are lesson horses, retired, or leased out/in training and whatnot. Ppl like Fallon Taylor who barrel race for the Olympic level aka heavily abusive style do not use their horses for anything else but either competing them heavily and favoriting one out of 50 or making her mares constantly foal with no downtime. Yet these people will tell you that those horses are "pampered" and "live in a 5* hotel". Doesn't matter. They don't have any environmental stimulation (walking around pasture to get food and water at minimum). And they can't interact with other horses AT ALL. It's simple : could you live locked up in your bathroom if people came in and out to feed and care for you ? And get out of it just to run around an arena ? For the rest of your life, 24/7?

He was either in his stall, being lunged, or ridden. I was told he wasn't aloud outside because he would hurt himself, and nothing more. They also had a stallion who, on no occasion left his stall. Never saw him turned out. This was a barn that did have a breeding program, but I don't even know if the stallion was used for those brood mares. This, with all your videos, was a pleasure to watch!

I ride at a barn in the centre of my city and we have 27 horses and they are all very well cared for and get turnout everyday. We have three places for turnout and the barn is not profit so all the money they get goes to the horses food and well being. Our barn is historic and over 100 years old and has survived 2 fires and is still standing strong. We have lots of sort of meetings where the head coach talks about showing and clinics and stuff like that and she makes it very clear that the horses needs always come first. Lots of the riders including me work at the barn so we have a lot of workers stablehanding, barn monitoring and more. They always have hay and they also get grain 3 times a day. Although we have a lot of horses especially for being in the city they live pretty good lives and have many people who love and care for them.

You can have more horses than you think on smaller properties. If it's set up properly. Track systems with 24/7 turn out is one example. I board my horse at a property that houses the 18 horses that are boarded on a 4 acre track system on 24/7 turn out. There is still pasture grazing space as well as 24/7 free choice hay. They are happy healthy horses. But it takes a lot of planning and work to keep more horses on smaller properties.

The other 2 are my riding horses. I live in Georgia, where the grass is almost there during the entire season. We also provide free choice round bale hay. My horses are living in luxury. I don't recommend having this many, but it works well for me. Everyone is also on 24/7 turnout with a run-in shed and a three-stall barn. They are only in stalls to eat their breakfast. There are alot of trees even just around, and they can climb up the hills. (And they do.) The hills are safe and sound for the horses, and when the don’t wanna stay close together they have the space not to. The horses range from yearlings to horses in their twenties, and they all have a buddy to hang out with. (A mare has also reached her duedate so soon theres a new filly or colt coming)

Raleigh thank you so much for what you are doing. Discovering your channel was a blessing to me. I come from an animal hoarding background and my therapist recently labeled my upbringing as literal sl*very and the system as a "horse cult". My parents were "breeding" purebred Arabians and owned up to 18 of them at a time. Blasted several generations of family savings. What they did was never even self-sustaining. It ended with the death of at least three mares. Some were rescued. I'm turning 37 and those first 18 years of my life left me traumatized and chronically ill. I can never live a normal life and won't ever feel fully human. I wish we could do a collaboration in the future. Not for popularity or personal gain. Just to raise awareness. Of course not all cases are extreme as mine, but growing up on a horse farm is absolutely not cute.

I grew up with an animal hoarding parent and even after I left she just went right back to hoarding, it was really sad. On my own with just 2 dogs, and especially dealing with the senior health issues when they cropped up, I can't imagine living like that now. I think the most dogs we ever had was 11. I know why she did it because she could never let them go even when she needed to, with the few she did rehome she would cry it would break her heart, but then she would go browsing classifieds and find another dog and invent another reason for why she needed it, when the real reason was just that it was pretty or cute and she thought it would make her life better in some way. It really is a problem and an illness and I really hope people struggling with it realize some day that they all will live healthier happier lives (humans and animals included) if they just let it go and stopped doing it.

He lived behind the pizza hut I worked at and we would always see him, his Shepard Dog, and his little goat walking around the street behind the store a couple hours a day. Or it would just be him training his horse to walk backwards, learn obedience, ect. He has had several people complain about him not having a massive pasture but he actually puts work in to making sure his horse has stimuli and enrichment. His horse is also trained to get in the back of his pickup(it has a massive gate built around it) and so is his goat

It's a lot of work having 9 and yes it's very hard to give them enough attention BUT they live naturally in their herd on 300 acres with mixed trees, terrain and a creek.

If one horse needs about 50 acres. She must own a lot of land. I hope she paints her horses to make them look different..

I've said it before; (some very specific) people think a horse is a piece of hobby equipment. Once you're done using it, it goes back in the box.

Thank you for talking about this I once went to a barn that I was looking at to take riding lessons at and I went for a tour and it was like 3 acres with like 15 horses and they had most of the horses in square round pins so I just immediately left and never went back.

Great video Raleigh! Very important information. People tend to take in more animals than they can afford to care for properly. Horses need turn-out every single day. This is important to their well-being along with exercise and a good-quality diet. There is a small horse farm not far from where i live and they have a small group of horses which are turned out every day. I love driving by there just to see these beautiful animals. Thank you for continuing to educate about being a good pet parent and not a hoarder.

Great video! I have two foster horses I am allowed take care of. Two, because the owner has those two. And even though they are my foster horses, so more riding and having fun together than actual barn work to do, I easily spent 2-3 hours for one horse. So how do you want to seperate your day to manage sooo many horses? Sad thing is: Horses are gentle and quiet. As long as they are not actual dying or panicking, they are sweet and quiet and then easily get forgotten by their owners. "But he has got enough food." "She's got a nice little stall". Horses are herd animals. They need to socialise - with other horses, with us. Caring for them is hard but we should not forget that we owe them the world for all they do for is every day. ❤

We have 4 horses on a few acres of pasture (with shelter they can chose to enter or exit) and only stall them the night before a show or bad weather days.

I bought a 3rd horse (all geldings, all in open stables with plenty of space and free pasture access) just because I had the acres and sold him a year later to the girl who ended up being his main care taker because I can’t take adequate care of more than 2 horses. Of course he got vet care, plenty of food, space etc but I did not have the time to work with him every day. I can do 2 but not 3 and that’s my lessons learned. I love my horses and I only want the best for them.

Actually i know a lady who have 17 dogs. But, she have a whole ass fenced farm, and somehow every one of them is well trained and sleep inside of the house with their little beds. It's insane, and very cool to see. You can literally go up to any of those dogs and they will be friendly and obey simple commands. We have no ideia how she did it but i believe at least 9 or 10 of those dogs are theraphy dogs too and she goes to hospitals and nursing homes.

I volunteer at a rescue ,,farm" sometimes and I am not quite sure what to think of it. (Very long comment btw) I will explain how the horses live really quick. So most horses are old or come from places of abuse. There are like multiple ways the horses there are handled. The 1st option: They live in a stall most of the time but get to be outside everyday for about an hour, though not a grassy pasture, but a sandy one. Those horses are middle aged to old. In a similar section horses are in a stall mostly, but are let out together on a sandy field for several hours. The 2nd option: The older horses are always in one place of I would say 600 square metres in an open stall with an outside sandy section and one inside where there are about 5-6 horses. There is another sector like that with a bigger area, I'd say about 700-800 metres, but with 5 donkeys and 2 horses. The 3rd option: They have the same section like in the second option for like 8 wild horses, but those get to go onto a big grassy field for multiple hours somedays in the warmer months. None of the horses there are ridden though, because they are either too old or I think that they also don't have time for it aswell as really training the horses. I am not sure what to think of this. The horses often times have it better than where they came from, but I still feel like it is not enough space or exercise for them. The horses are well cared for health wise, but still. Does someone more educated on horses know if this is abuse? I feel like they just have too many horses/donkeys to give all of them the care that they need. Strangely a lot of other animals have it wonderful. 7 lamas can walk around freely everywhere and onto the pastured all day, along with chickens, geese and cats. They also have goats and sheep which have a large main enclosure but get to go onto grassy fields everyday, that they sometimes even train with obstacles and enrichment. They also have a lot of dogs that get to be in big outdoor enclosures that have a lot of interesting obstacles for them and get individual training, care and walks. It just seems like there are two very different worlds on that sanctuary. Sorry for the super long comment.

I saw this video title and was so scared before I realized who posted it and I was able to breathe a sigh of relief. My grandparents have two horses on 25 acres. One is a gelding who was a retired racehorse they got at auction after he got an injury where he couldn’t be ridden anymore, and the other is actually his niece and they got her from a friend of a friend of a friend when she also got injured to where she couldn’t be ridden so they also took her in. The gelding, lightning, is now 25 (older than me) and the mare, star, is 18 and both are still in great shape and will just run across the pasture so quickly when I go out with an apple whenever I visit.
