How long should I enjoy this rig as-is before working on interior updates?
@russellking97624 ай бұрын
Dude i would leave it the way it is if it were mine except for maybe some additional electrical work...dual battery larger alternator rear camera update with reversing LED floodlight...have a look at a roof mounted solar system...air compressor for tyre and dinghy inflation....ARB rear step bar for either a mountain bike or small (125cc) dirt bike...THE DAYS OF PAYING RENT ARE OVER...after that Canada here i come

Agreed. Maybe could lighten up with some fresh paint, but not necessary.

Australia has 1000,s of these converted to campers brilliant vehicles

I'd love to see more in the states! My guess is the Australia has a few of the lifted 4x4 units also, an even better RV setup.

Loved seeing this at Japanese car day at Larz. I was the one who gave the Polaroid to you guys lol, seemed like a good vehicle to use up a photo on.

I'm actually planning to import a Japanese camper, for now however; I will be building out a cargo trailer, ill be saving up after to import either a bus or a smaller Japanese motorhome, i just like the design more. Compared to what is found in the US.

How does it do on the highway? I'm looking for a T1N Sprinter for a long range family hauler... but kinda want one of these if I can find one. They're not too common in the US.
@savvysprocket14 күн бұрын
With the stock rear differential your RPMs are a bit high on the highway. It will do it and keep speed however you won't get the best MPG. You can get a different gear setup installed which will really help if you plan to take the highway often.
@NicholasMatteo-p3b Жыл бұрын
Beautiful! What kind of mpg do you get?? Thanks Nicky.
@savvysprocket Жыл бұрын
I am getting about 15MPG at the moment however once I swap the rear differential I should be able to get about 20MPG.
@Elika526 Жыл бұрын
Wow, how much did it cost all
@savvysprocket Жыл бұрын
It wasn't bad. About 1/4 the cost of a built Sprinter.

There is also the possibility that there is a door opening button under the body near the door.

I haven't seen anything like this on mine. Have you seen this option on a Coaster before?

Just going by the ones we operate at the mine site I am on, but these are reasonably new buses

How long does it take to coast up to 60mph (100kph?)? And how comfortable is it coasting at 65-70mph? Fuel economy?
@savvysprocket11 ай бұрын
Thanks for checking out the video. I honestly have not had a ton of seat time in the bus to have fully clear answers here yet. With the current gearing it is much happier at city speeds compared to highway speeds. My plan is to adjust the gearing in the differential to bring down engine RPMs at highway speeds. Once that project is complete MPG should be at around 20mpg. Stay tuned for videos on this gearing project and future updates.

@@savvysprocket change the heat ratio! Great idea! Everything I read online basically said they don't like to go faster than 55-60 mph, so that would really help. But I also saw that full throttle it takes forever to get to 60 mph. Changing the gear ratio will obviously make that worse. Touchy subject!

@@asdfgoogle that would be the non turbo model taking a while to get up to speed. This turbo model has much more torque and power and cruise really easy.

Nice videos. Just subbed. One thing though & this is just a friendly criticism. Is there any chance you could work on dropping the dozen and dozens of times you say Umm & Ermm per video. Not trying to be an arse hat its just an opinion & you know wot they say about them & Bum holes. . Great videos & am looking forward to the next shop update 👍

Called out! That is something I have been working on getting better at. With more videos I hope to get them cleared up. Thanks for the deep dive on my channel I see some other comments from you which is great! Happy to have a new viewer.
