I went to the doctor a few times in France and have a very good impression of the French medical system based on those (very limited) experiences. I speak French and most importantly I understand French very well so that helped. I found that they really listened and gave me appropriate suggestions and medication. One surprise is one doctor frowned on me taking a daily multivitamin. Thats usually considered harmless in the States. He told me basically to stop doing silly stuff like that and get my nutrients from food.

This video is AWESOME! Special thank you to your mom for sharing her insight! I am going to start medical school in fall 2021 in California. I have been trying to improve my french until then. We have patients from all over the world, especially in the big cities. It is SO helpful to know a few key words in their native languages. I would love to see more videos about common medical terms/expressions in french if possible!! But I am enjoying all the content you produce nonetheless! Super merci!

A question about the French health system (I am from the United States, and this issue is very much on people's minds right now): Your mother said that everyone who works belongs to the social security system. How about people who don't work? Perhaps they are so ill they cannot hold a job, or perhaps they have simply been unlucky and have no job right now. And I'm sure there are many other situations. Currently in the U.S., there is a government program that provides health insurance for those who are so ill they cannot work (if they are poor). Those who are simply out of work right now are out of luck - there is no health insurance for them. How does France handle all this?

Found the word for curfew rather interesting - of course it is derived from French, meaning the time to cover/stop the fire at one’s medieval home. I thank god for the Norman invasion - so many French words are inside our minds, yearning for a little razzle dazzle pronunciation. Including the faux amis - which are still better than no zamis at all.

I simply adore your videos. A real pleasure to watch and learn French as I understand your French quite well and with the subtitles in French I get most of it. Great! Here is my constructive criticism. I think your audio could improve some. Do you use a directional mic or a boom mic? If not you should look into it. I know you are not using a lapele mike because I don't see one. The one on your webcam or camera might not be the best at all, and since your voice is about the biggest chunk of your teaching....
