I think it is so valid to be emotional about your hair. I had to get brain surgery when I was in college and I remember being more concerned with having to shave my head than what would actually happen during surgery lol You are handling this whole experience with such grace and vulnerability, I truly respect your attitude and actions :)

This video means a lot to me. I had long hair in high school. Unfortunately I went through an ED where I would flat iron my hair constantly and my hair fell out from the ED, stress, and OCD. 10 years later and my hair still isn’t growing. This has given me the confidence to look at wigs. My boyfriend is so supportive and seeing how supportive your husband is has helped a lot!

I truly appreciate your emotional ride through this. I'm pumping myself up to start wearing wigs too. Like you, I'm losing my hair and am super self conscious. It's so incredible that you have a very supportive husband. My husband is totally 100% on board with my decision and is actually quite excited about the different looks I'll be having. Thank you for your courage to make these videos. You're truly an inspiration and made me much more comfortable in my decision. Own your different looks. You're gorgeous inside and out.

Girl, if you don't like yoga, don't do it! People recommended it to me for years for stress relief and I did a lot of it and it never felt that great. Now, I'm doing pretty intense interval training and weightlifting and I love it and it's probably the best stress relief I've ever felt. I had a doctor years ago who said some people need really intense exercise to help with anxiety. It didn't click for me then, but now I get what she meant. ❤️

Thank you for being so open and honest about your hair loss! I have alopecia areata, and there really aren’t a ton of KZbinrs talking about hair loss and wigs. As someone who cannot spend a lot of money on wigs and who lives in a more rural area without high quality wig shops, I would love to see you try out wigs online. I’m very lost as to what websites/retailers are reputable, and how to get started. Maybe there are other viewers who would benefit from this as well. Just an idea! Thank you for speaking up on something that so many of us go through but do not see represented anywhere! ❤️

Hi Dani, some of my favorite wig experts on youtube are Lovely Bryana, Msnaturally Mary, Msroshposh, and Janna Niki. They do amazing things with wigs and laying the lace so that it stays secure and looks natural. I just think they are fascinating to watch and provide so much information. I was diagnosed with Lichen planopilaris a few years ago (autoimmune condition that causes your body to attack its own hair follicles). Through a complete change in diet and a lot of prayer, it has seemed to be in remission. I cried every day for the first 6 months. You are very brave. Take care.

I have been suffering with thin hair and fall out since I was a teenager. I’m 30 now and my whole life all I’ve wanted was beautiful long hair and I completely understand why it’s so emotional to talk about. I tried buying a few wings and got unlucky and ended up with very fake looking wigs. So I still have to wear my natural hair. And unfortunately I live somewhere there’s really no wig shops. This video made me really consider trying again because I really want my confidence back. Thank you for you videos you are most definitely not alone

Hi. I just found your channel for the first time. Great video. Those wigs look fantastic on you! I wanted to let you know you can get those wigs with rooted colors in synthetic hair that you can heat style. They're called heat safe synthetics. The great thing about them is once you style them the way you want them styled, they will keep that style even after you wash it... So unlike the human hair wigs, that have to be styled every time you wear them, these only need to be styled once. Jon Renau and Raquel Welch brands make popular versions, but they were many brands that make it. Some of the brand names of these synthetic fibers are True2life, Futura, HD, and many others. Not only are they styleable, but they look much more like real hair then regular synthetic, and they are way less expensive than human hair... but again the greatest thing about them is that once you heat style them, and that style is set, it will stay in that style wash after wash until you reheat style it into another style.

Thank you Dani, I’m 37 and I’m going through the same exact thing. Loosing my hair is hard. It’s coming out in clumps every time I brush it out. But I’ve already been wearing wigs the last 2 years to grow my hair out since I use to bleach it non-stop. I think my hair loss is stress related. Thank you for sharing your story.

I get that hair is an emotional thing. I also get that you are so beautiful, articulate and compassionate. Plus you married somebody who is a real keeper. You look gorgeous with or without the wigs! But the wigs are fantastic. I decided to grow all my white hair out last year - I turned white when I was 19. To deal with the 12+ month transition, I bought wigs. And I totally fell in love with them. I now have a full head of white hair but I still love and wear the wigs on occasion. It’s fun changing your color and style in the blink of an eye. And wig hair always looks good!

You have helped me so much, there really are no words. I have been losing my hair from Teligon Effluvium for 20 years. After my mom died 5 years ago it really got bad and just kept shedding. I had about 20 % of my original hair but it looked fried. I never went anywhere. I was so depressed and did not want anyone to see me. I felt suicidal; however, my wonderful husband and my deep belief in Jesus Christ has brought me through. I am just tired. I bought my first wig. It felt so good to have weight on my head again. I have not yet been able to go out in public but I will. Thank you. Please keep us posted here and there on your real hair is doing. Best regards.

I have been wearing wigs off and on for years, in the beginning I think the ones I picked looked “wiggy “ if that’s a word but now I’m more seasoned and know what I like.. and what looks best on me my recent purchases have been the toppers by John Renau they have worked wonders for me through this warm summer weather and Raquel Welch “straight up with a twist “is my favorite and when I wear it absolutely nobody knows it’s a wig I get so many compliments so just wear it with pride , my hair is thinning I’ve tried a lot of Supplements also nothing really seems to work if anybody has any suggestions let me know I just recently bought OGX ginger shampoo and it seems to be working I see less hair is falling out after I shampoo but I love my wigs and I actually feel good in them now and I don’t feel self-conscious that takes a while to get over that feeling , and I see that you have achieved that good luck

Sooo glad to see that smile, even tinged with tears of both joy and emotion. Hair is a really emotional thing and yet how thankful we can all be to have all the amazing options we do to turn that emotional pain and angst into joy and FUN! I am looking at my current six "girls" on their cute Styrofoam head forms and marveling at their adorableness. From messy beach waves to long ones I wear in multiple ways from side ponies, to cute little pinned up do' s with piecey tendrils. I love to wear different head wraps from bandanas to guazey scarf wraps (folded to head band size). The colors of my "hair" look like the most natural high end salon highlights imaginable. Even when I had great hair and had it salon colored, it hardly ever came out this perfect! Mine are all synthetic and I am really good at cutting them myself but main tip is that I use a razor comb and maybe thinning sheers to get that wispy look. There is nothing more fun to me than "playing beauty parlor" with my girls! Keep having fun Dani and you will be an authority before you know it! You don't have to know it all right out of the gate to be an inspiration and help to lots of young (as well as old) women who just need a little encouragement and help!! Lord bless you in your new "calling"! 👍😉!

I see you got Stephanie a little over two years ago. Is this still the same one or have you had to rebuy another Stephanie? I am trying to see how long it will last. I will not be dying it but may style it once in a while. I have been using a synthetic one that I like the style but it get nasty quickly. So a few washes and all the touching and combing messes it up beyond repair. I even trim it to make it look better to make it last longer. also, I just wanted to thank you for sharing your story. I have been pulling my hair since at least HS and it's very upsetting when I get so stressed and pull clumps out and my husband finds it in the trash next to my desk. Unless you get a virgin/uncolored human hair wig, it's not possible to color a JR wig. So if you're a blonde you'll probably be stuck with their stock color because the only colors that are virgin are usually black or brown. Check thehairmama.com, the lady who makes those wigs & pieces is an actual hairdresser and she can custom color & cut any piece. She also has a KZbin channel if you want to check her out kzbin.info/www/bejne/npTVlKtordN3j8k

Hi! It's so wonderful how you are trying to help women! I have hair loss myself and have learned so much about wearing hair over the last 5 years. Join the FB group, Hair Loss Sisters. You will connect and learn from other women. Also, a wig should never be over $2,500 unless it's made from unicorn hair lol. Anything over that is a rip off.
@dreamcatcher29605 жыл бұрын
Exactly! People should do research before buying their first piece. Jon Renau is a total rip off. For that price you should get a virgin european wig with a perfectly natural french drawn silk top. Not hair that has been overbleached and drowned in acid baths in a chinese factory before being shipped to a JR warehouse.

Believe me, they are way too expensive for the quality offered, so have no regrets! I have alopecia and I've seen many, many brands.
