I started wearing it June 1 so you can scroll their my IG feed to see the difference. I've had lots of requests to do a wig try on + all my fake hair gadgets so I will def get to that next week!
The start of this year, I started experiencing a lot of hair loss. My sweet husband encouraged me to get my first wig. I now have two!! One is named Kim and the other is named Stephanie, Steph for short. I will be giving my natural hair a break as I try all the tips and tricks to grow it back.
I’ve always tried to be transparent with y’all about the “good” and “bad” of my life. I never thought it would be so scary to show you what I believed was the “ugly”. But then I remembered God made me a hot sassy mama. We all are, no matter what shade or circumstances life throws at us. So I made my situation into fun game that I called #danislittlelies. Today I’m telling you EVERYTHING. Thanks for livin’ real life with me. Love y’all #fauxhairdontcare #hairloss #wig #lacewig

Don’t you think he should say she doesn’t need a wig? She’s beautiful just the way she is and that she shouldn’t have to worry about wigs staying on and affording new ones and making them feel bearable.

I’m sure that her n Jordan have had many discussions privately before filming any of this, in those conversations behind closed doors and no cameras recording he has told her all of that, that he loves her with hair, without hair he is now trying to give her all the support he knows she needs to deal with this in her own way, he knows how incredibly upset, uncomfortable, not feeling pretty to herself etc. effects her. We all know when we look and feel our best whatever that best may be for oneself that we feel good, happy, confident, sexy. I’m sure he reminded her that her hair is not what he fell in love with but yet he understands what a big insecurity this brings upon her. I mean come on we all know how brutal people are behind keyboards n just how insensitive people can be. To a woman our hair is a big part of our looks, I completely understand why she would feel the way she does, I myself have had a total hairstyle change and cut that I hated it so much and could not wait til it grew out and did not feel good n comfortable about my looks for awhile til it really started to grow back out. Not everyone feels so strongly about their hair as another may, but it doesn’t mean any of us are wrong we all just have certain things that may cause us to feel very insecure with oneself.

Dear darlin' Dani, what a brave young woman you are to bare your soul, your "shame" over your hair loss and just putting yourself and your vulnerability out there for others who might be in the same boat. I myself have been down the same road of having long beautiful hair in my younger years to losing so much hair, due to undiagnosed thyroid disorder and other hormonal issues, it was a constant struggle to hide the thinning and it became unsuccessful. Your hubbie is a prize as I think most of us "wig girls" have been blessed with super supportive men in our lives. I hope by now you know of all the amazing channels that are out there. If not here are some of my many favorites: Taz's Wig Closet, Faux Hair Don't Care, Let's Talk With Kim, Abby Andrews (can't recall if she has a channel name), and a darling girl, also from Texas, named Bren (Fake Hair, Real Talk...i think it's called). Once you tap into these amazing gals and hear their stories your own hair journey and joy over your many options will continue to soar! There are so many tips and tricks I could share but one big one that was a game changer was a Hair Grip, also ones called Wig Grips. I pin my bio hair in a tiny low "bun" with those little "snap barrette clips" then wrap the band as per instructions. I use 4 more of the clips 2 in back and 2 on top so it won't slip due the my slippery fine hair. Then when you put on your hair and get it adjusted, that "girl" is not going anywhere! In wind, rain, at the beach, no worries! Taz has some fantastic vids on every aspect of the challenges and joys of getting to wear "hair". Binge watch everything you can, if you haven't already! You will learn so much so fast! You are so adorable, I would say it will be the most rewarding "journey" imaginable! Sometimes the things we never would have chosen, turn out to give us the most joy, both in finding real pleasure in our pain but also and maybe even especially in helping others find that same peace and joy! I would say you might be the next rising star in the "WWC", Wig Wearing Community! I can see you being a great candidate for being a model for any of the young market of "hair" manufacturers, just like Abby Andrews is for Amore! You just need to keep putting your sweet vulnerable, but also confidant, self out there to help yourself and others! By the way your "hair" looks sooo real and so beautiful both of them! I loved the messy braid, that is so fun and adorable. A side pony up over one ear with some messy tendrils is a cool way to wear it in the Texas heat. I'm in Tennessee and we get the same heat and humidity here but somehow I really don't sweat it! Look forward to your next vid as a subbie! Luv, Susannah

DANI YOU NEED TO READ THIS!!! I struggled with the “it could be worse, other people go through worse things than me” when I almost lost my father, I would tell myself quit crying, some people don’t have parents at all, or something like that. Like I commented you can drown in 10 feet of water or 100. The 10 feet can be easier to push yourself back up from but it doesn’t mean it’s not painful. We all should feel our feelings and not hold back because other have it worse. We can all be there for eachother no matter your particular struggle.

I had this same exact moment. I had just gone to the dermotologist to hear the results of a biopsy. Results being that I have female pattern baldness. I was hoping it was a medical issue that could be fixed. The tears did not stop for a few days. The sadness was so surprisingly overwehlming. That was 3 years ago and I havent been able to commit to wigs or hair pieces because of the shame. I am so selfconscious about what people will think. So instead I have chopped my hair short and use makeup on my scalp and I know wearing a wig would look better. I love this video. You have shared a very personal and real moment that most people never know happens. We've seen women tell there stories but it's so different to see it happening. You look amazing with your wig and with your bio hair. You chose well. It looks great and I hope you feel great!. Good luck on this journey! I have a hair piece I just bought and am taking it to get customized this week. I hope I can share in your joy and finally feel good.

Are you wearing your hair piece now? I also relate to you on a personal level, started balding since I was a kid and it got worse when I got older. Im in my twenties looking like Im forty because of it, I want to wear a wig but Im also scared that people will notice and make fun of me for it because I just dotted my hair line before going to classes but my bald spots are pretty noticeable. Im glad that you shared your story because I thought I was the only one who felt this way, I bought a lot of wigs but never worn them but I probably will take a chance after this semester, I hope everythings working out for you though ❤️

@@canyounot313 I am not wearing one now. I did not have my hair piece customized yet. I have been growing my hair out for the topper and have been having some ok hair days so I haven't rushed the customization. I'm in my 40s and I wish I would have started this earlier before it was so obvious of a change. I think you look great with or without your pieces. Keep with the human hair and a natural looking density and you should be good. Keep posting cuz it's just so nice to see this journey is not just mine. How wonderful it is to cheer you on!! If you ever need to vent I'm here. My family and friends all say my hair is fine and they don't see a problem. I think they get sick of hearing about it and the wigs I never wear. I have been wearing wigs for 8 years I suffer from female pattern baldness. My mother struggled with it as well. My hair got very thin and my part got very noticeable... so one day I just went online and I without knowing what I was doing, I bought a wig. When the wig arrived in the mail, I shaved off all of my hair and started wearing the wig. I cried about it there's definitely a grief process that you have to go through but now I really appreciate being able to change up my style when I want to and I've even "gone grey" in my older age. I have finally gotten to a point in my life where I completely accept it. Be gentle with yourself... it is a definite process.

Love Kim! I bought my own version of “Kim” two years ago after my 21st birthday. I lost my hair during chemotherapy for ovarian cancer even tho my oncologist said I wasn’t going to lose it. I had no time to plan. Wig shopping was weird. And uncomfortable. I was happy to have hair but I totally feel you in this video. My hair grew back (very slow) but is still sparse/patchy. We really learn how much hair means to us even though it’s something small in the grand scheme! Thank you for sharing.

Girl let me encourage you that I was the same exact way. I have PCOS, so i have androgenic alopecia. I was able to do volumizing products and powders to cover my scalp for years. After I had my little girl, it was beyond fixing because of postpartum hair loss. It’s an emotional thing and I’ve cried over it so many times. I’ve been wearing a wig for only 2 years, but I still struggle with it. I’m a stay at home mom, so we don’t get out much, and when we do I’m usually in a hat. I take what hair I have and make the most of it. Baseball caps are seriously a life saver. I get the soft caps because they conform to your head and look better. I took my wig to a wig hair dresser and she thinned my wig to make it more natural. It takes trial and error.

Hi Dani, thank you for posting this very personal and private video. I have been dealing with wearing wigs for over a year now due to henna damaged my hair and I was embarrassed going out with short and in parts green hair. I don’t have much hair and it’s very thin too. I understand totally what you’re going through, It has caused me staying inside the house for days, I always wear a baseball cap as I am conscious of the front of my wig (TRY SILK TOP, it’s more natural looking in my opinion, especially it’s scalp by the top hairline). It’s not me every time I look in the mirror and I constantly trying to make changes on it to make myself ME again. Oh, and the reason I decided to write you here is because I RECOMMEND YOU TRYING A HAIR TOPPER, that would actually perfectly cover your missing hair patches and it’s a LOT MORE comfortable wear to a wig. I used an American online company who shipped to the UK. I hope your journey is less painful and that your finding a solution that makes you happy.

The last three years I have lost about 60% of my hair. I had to cut it super short. I stop using all hair products and let my hair air dry. Went to a dermatologist and I felt like the man doctor could care less. He told me to taken slow FE Iron. Has not changed a darn thing. I CRY every time I wash my hair. Clumps of hair come out. Comb my hair with a wide tooth comb over the sink and more hair keeps falling out. It’s endless!! I feel like in a few more months I will have NO hair. A few days ago I discussed with my girlfriend that I want to get a wig. She is coming with me to help me out. I try not to cry everyday because I don’t want to create stress. Thanks for the video. It makes my choice even easier to move forward with a wig.

Kelly Beechen, Try cutting gluten out of your diet. Not easy but, just give it a go because I was diagnosed with Graves’ disease even though I didn’t look like it. Instead of chemo I first saw a nutritionist who gave me a pretty radical diet to try. I lived on cabbage soup for awhile which will cleanse the gluten from your system. Lots of enzymes from leafy greens. Within a few months I felt like a new person. One of the benefits of this was my hair STOPPED falling out. I don’t even walk down the bread isle anymore, that’s how much I hate it now.

I am so sorry for what you are going through. I can relate to you so much! I have Lupus, I've been on steroids for most of my life and there is a history of thinning hair in my family. I'm 53 and I've been suffering with thinning hair for at least 10 years, maybe more like 15 years. I'm so embarrassed that I stay home almost all the time. I've been considering getting a wig and have really been too embarrassed and also I feel guilty for caring so much about how I look. You are so beautiful & strong! I struggled with hair loss last year & it was pretty similar to how yours looked in certain spots! After months and months of CLUMPS falling out in my hands in the shower and a crap ton of money going to doctors & taking a million supplements that weren’t helping...I found out it was because I wasn’t eating enough protein! Who would’ve thought?! I totally thought I was eating more than enough - but as soon as I doubled my protein, it stopped falling out & grew back! I know you have probably tried everything as well but juuuuust Incase you haven’t heard of the protein factor, maybe try amping up your protein! Anywhoo...I’m so sorry girl - it is so hard. You will get through this & rock the hell out of those wigs until it all grows back!! 💕💕

I completely understand how you feel. My hair was falling out by the handful when I stopped taking birth control. I would dread washing my hair because it just kept coming out and made me more stressed out. I’ve even considered a wig so I understand how upsetting it is. It’s kind of like boobs. It’s something that’s important to us regardless of how superficial it may seem. The wig looks great on you. No one would know it’s a wig.

Hey Dani, I am so sorry about your hair. I also went through a phase where I was upset and hair would fall out so I started picking it out. I think you are making the right steps to correct this. Later on, though, I found out that I have a thyroid condition. Mine is Hypothyroidism. I had patches that looked like what you showed at the beginning of your video. This problem with patches didn't fully end until I was able to get diagnosed. Anxiety can also be connected to the thyroid being off. There is so much the thyroid is responsible for when it comes to the function of your body. My suggestion would be to get an appointment with an endocrinologist. Sending best wishes your way

Hi Danni, this video came up on my KZbin, probably because I looked up wigs on Google yesterday. I was blown away by it. I am 66 years young and have only begun getting thin on top over the past few years. Like you, I was becoming embarrassed because I could see scalp showing through my fine (white) hair. Watching your metamorphosis as you went through the emotions of how to tell people you were wearing a wig...to embracing it and having fun with it has given me the courage to accept what I have and realize I can do something about it. Thank you for that. You are a beautiful and courageous young woman. On a side note...you have a gem of a husband👍🏼💕
