Awesome walkthrough. Thank you. Watching that last shelf tip. Somebody watching this needs to come up with a drawer system so I can mount a packout underneath my workbench top. I have all my tools under my workbench, then pull them out and stack them and hit the road. Or better yet, a rolling cart frame that combines two rolling toolboxes. OK I'll quit making money for other people and get back to shopping. :-)

From one collector 2 another. The best way to get rid of the plastic smell is using the California Scent Car Air Freshener & Fragrance ICE or LEATHER they got plenty of scents smells and for the budget GUYS get a LITTLE TREE 🌲. @packoutjunkie58133 жыл бұрын
Yes I had quite a few of the DeWalt tough system as well. I think the weight is better with the DeWalt but the latching system is terrible. That’s what sold me on the Packout system was the ease of moving them around and latching them. The rest is history!!

Great Video. I'm impressed. There's a couple of things that seems to be missing from the PackOut system. I carry some long tools such as hand saws 22 inch (550mm) and 24 inch (600mm) also some long spirit levels 78 inch (2000mm). I've yet to see a PackOut system that caters to these longer tools. I'm using cable ties at the moment but would rather a designated holder/ holster for these tools. 💛💜💛

I agree. I feel that Milwaukee missed the mark on some of that stuff. I don’t think we should have to turn to aftermarket 3D printed stuff to get it right. For the level check out the flex stack pack level holder. They are built well and they adapt to the Packout easily.

@jmackinjersey13 жыл бұрын
Here is what the engineers at both Milwaukee and DeWalt say about chargers and batteries. Charge the battery in the charger that it came with. Older, less technological batteries will last longer when used in a slower charger. The new/newer batteries have the technology to communicate with the new/newer chargers which will keep your batteries "healthy"(?) longer. Can it be a pain? Possibly, but if you have a color code, be it paint/tape etc. on the batteries and chargers, it isn't that hard to keep track of which goes where.

I do handyman work part time and my current setup which is the Rigid box system. 2 stacks Rolling box, tool box, small box for cordless and 2 clear top organizers which works ok and has served me well over the years and at the time was a lot less expensive. I'm really liking the Packout system! Milwaukee has thought it out with their product with a grip of options. My only complaint is they are hella expensive! For me to replace my current setup would cost me well over a grand and I'm having a real hard time telling myself that I need to replace my Rigid boxes. I know i'm going to at some point so I will probably just buy one piece at a time until I have everything I need. Thanks for the trip through your setup!

It is pricey for sure. I only had a few DeWalt boxes when I switched. The Rigid is a nice system and they have come out with quite a few newer boxes lately. Now with the drawer packouts they need a XL box with a single drawer for the bottom of the stack for the oversized tools. I am looking at building a packout stack and going all drawers for the most part. I don't want to be unstacking anything to get to the stuff that is in them. I think they need to modify that dolly for wider wheel placement and all terrain tires/wheels. Milwaukee needs to get busy refining this.

I keep holesaws up to 4,all drill/driver bits ,12 inch extensions , (all m12 )surge ,impact,drill,installation driver . In what is your bit box. I install cabinets as well👍
@2chipped3 жыл бұрын
I agree with all your points! Like I said I install cabinets ,which we build as well.. Even using a 17 ft box truck with a regular cab, room is at a premium. My regrets. #1 living in SE Ga it gets hot,and the PO cooler doesn't hold ice for a full day. I freeze several water bottles and spread them among the rest inside. Cases of water bottles are stored in the refrigerator, just have to remember to move them back in from cooler in the evening. #2 bought several mounting brackets that I really liked for just a couple of crates,but they definitely lose to much space when you add more. #3 rolling toolboxes of which I have 2,I keep belt sander in 1 and that is about it so it's a huge waste of space. I plan to adapt a cordless ridgid shop vac into 1. It begs a static tool ,vacuum, inverter like Dewalt (which I will not do),or an air compressor. #4 the new $200 dolly, it's very flimsy feeling, takes 3 hands to fold it up, wheels are inboard which wastes room at the rear. Pro's #1 the latch makes it 5x better than any other system except systainers, but 20x stronger than. # 2 accessories galore,and more coming. Currently have everything except the ammo-can,and several open totes. I use primarily m12 for space savings. 1 large box is the only box with foam,Makita x2 tracksaw/Makita barrel jigsaw and 8 batteries (xtra for x2 mitersaw and router) inside. Individual 1/2 sizes carry tools with 1 battery and its bits/blades. M12 sds,hackzall,jigsaw with coping foot,omt, Makita router,Ryobi 23 g pinner,and a Fein supercut.

@packoutjunkie58133 жыл бұрын
Honestly I think it stuck around from my old DeWalt 18 volt Ni-cad battery days. Quick charging them just killed them. I know the Lithium Ion batteries are different but I just feel that rapid charging anything isn’t the best way to go. With the large batteries manufactures are going the way of the rapid charge all the time. I guess time will tell. At $200 a piece for the 12ah batteries, I am not sure the risk is worth it. Just my opinion, no expert.

Hahaha. They all do look very new but I am breaking your balls out of jealousy. You have nicer tools than me, all your stuff matches, and you are super organized. I wish I went with Milwaukee cordless tools but I started with makita and before I knew it I was way too far invested in makita to make the switch. Maybe when some of my stuff starts dying on me I will slowly switch over. Awesome gear and set up though

I appreciate it. I was committed to DeWalt before this however the flexvolt stuff took me out of the game and frustrated me that it wasn’t always compatible with my existing 20V. So I made the switch, haven’t looked back. Didn’t loose out too bad on the switch. I am full committed now though. Makita makes some awesome tools. They all have there niche.

did you mention the dividers can be DIY half inch plywood? You painted them so well ppl won't realize :-)
@packoutjunkie58133 жыл бұрын
Ha ha. They are 1/4” sanded plywood. Made a hole at the top to be able to pull them out. You will have to trim the bottom a little to get them to fit they are not completely flat.

I'm thinking this system would work very well for our heavy rescue trailer. Just can't see spending the money they want for them with current budget.

I have seen quite a few Fire Depts that have a nice Packout setup. It is pricey, but you have to pay to play right 😀

You could maybe try vinegar and hot water and soak to get rid of the smell!

Nice set up... Where did you get the 25' extension cord from ?
@packoutjunkie58133 жыл бұрын
I bought the ext cord from Menards. It’s a 12/3 with lighted ends. I personally don’t buy anything smaller then a 12ga cord. Here’s the link to the one I purchased. Not sponsored or anything. www.menards.com/main/electrical/electrical-cords-cord-management/extension-cords/prime-medium-duty-outdoor-extension-cord/seec732725/electrical/electrical-cords-cord-management/extension-cords/prime-heavy-duty-outdoor-extension-cord/seec732825/p-1535437713011.htm

2 side tape a dryer sheet to lid. Change when needed.
