Meet my Winter Caliope Hummingbird friend

Hi friend! I have a Caliope hummingbird friend that is staying the Winter at my place. I make sure its nectar stays unfrozen, which was quite a chore yesterday, as a Winter storm blew through. There are other hummingbirds in Wishram during the Winter, as I see my friend chasing them away from the feeder. I'm glad this one hangs around my place.

Wow that is amazing. The humming birds we have migrate south around late September. Good luck Todd keeping that hummingbird tanked up with warm nectar.

Hi Lynn! My book says they migrate to Central and South America, but I know there are other hummingbirds in town because my hummingbird is chasing them off all the time, so I guess the climate here is mild enough for them as long as they are being fed regularly. Hi Ducelick! I think they finally migrated because I haven't seen any hummingbirds since a day after I made the video. He got out of here before the real snow arrived. He's probably relaxing on a beach in Mexico now. Thanks for stopping by. Warm greetings from Wishram.
