Have to say watching Ricky with his circles...I went to University here in England studying Art....the first thing we lear when painting people is....draw circles ...section them into quarters etc to get the correct dimensions......just like Ricky is doing with his cut out circles.....just shows he has completely natural talent....didnt need to be taught. 😀😀

The Tony dog food sign brought back some very fond memories!! My Grandfather always fed his dog, Skippy the Tony dog food in the can!! Granddaddy passed away in 1972, but still remember him preparing Skippy's dinner on his back porch! Thank you for the work you do on these videos and God bless.

John, my mother-in-law use to play piano and granted in all honesty she wasn’t that great about it, but it was enough that at least you could hear what the name of the song was. Or she’d tell you the name of the song and then you could tell how good they could play the piano. She said, she learn just by sound. I think everyone has some type talent in them like Ricky when they’re never had any classes in it. I admire him. Thank you for video. Love watching your shows on U-tube.

Watching Ricky brings back a LOT of memories. I grew up in the sign business with my older brother and father. Both have passed. I've watched people on KZbin but Ricky is the only one that bridges his brush on the opposite hand like we did. Hearing him refer to the lettering as 'thick and thin' was also something I haven't heard in a while. He used the bottom of an old can for his paint. We always used baby food jars or old canned good cans and would palate on the side. Just watching him run the top and bottom line brought back memories. He knew his spacing before the chalk hit the board but you always scratch it on just to be certain you have equal spacing. It looks like he's using about a number 8 or 10 quill for the lettering. I'm wondering if he's ever done any gold leaf work?

I just subscribed last night. Man I wish I could visit and eat at the Brookes store. About one minute after seeing the store front I thought I would love to draw or paint it, then Ricky shows up and starts drawing it! I am a decent pastel painter and my channel logo is "Rising Sun'' Elvis' favorite horse. Until recently it was hanging in the Tiger man karate Dojo museum in Memphis. It's now closed, but it was the brain child of the Spa guy-Billy Stallings (KZbin Elvis video historian). So I recognize Ricky as a great sign painter, artist and kind gentlemen. Your videos show the best of America and it's people and I'll be glued to every second, Thanks much!
