I first started flying drones after watching a Charpu video. I went out and got myself a Taranis X9D+ and ZMR250 kit and was on my way. These days, I fly mostly aerial video UAVs, and not so much racing/freestyle. You want to see some FAST racing pilots ... watch the DRL (Drone Racing League) video ... those guys are amazing.

Mystery a racing drone is a type of quad copter, so calling any 4 motor craft a quad copter is correct, specifying a type is needed these days as their are lots of different uses for different types of 'drone' lol. to be specific that is a 'racing quad' because a racing drone could be any unmanned RC craft including helicopters, gliders and planes

I am not 100% sure, but it looks alot like an old refinery off highway 33 near shell road. I think it is an abandoned refinery. been wanting to shoot photography there for a while but it's gated up all the way around.

Simon Bethke are you assuming that because the colour is different? I remember a few months back it was all the rage to have 3 props one colour and the 4th a contrasting colour....

No, props have a specific shape (essentially each blade is a wing profile.) Typically the 'sharp edge' is the trailing part of the 'wing.' So, since the motors have to spin a specific direction, and the props have a specific designed direction, you are able to pick out backwards or upside down props. They will still fly, but not nearly as efficient.

How is it common sense that it is not one? Bike racing, formula plus, rally cross etc. are all sports, motor sports. Quad racing is the same except the pilot is not in the vehicle. The fact that there is little physical movement does not mean that there isn't a great deal of skill involved and definitely does not disqualify it as a sport

It's not backwards. The diagonal opposite props are the same. If they were all facing the same direction the quad would spin in place

Flying a racing drone is very stressful when you start. Because when you crash, if you break a component, you need to rebuy that piece, unsoulder the previous piece without melting the pads, then soulder the new piece on. Ugh.

Wavy Vaporizers both are bad for FPV flying like that. Most FPV pilots build their own drones on different frames from modules like PDB, FC, ESC's and so on. Of course, there is a pre-built options, like TBS Vendetta or Eachine Wizard(last one is good drone for FPV beginners), but you will still need to do little tuning and assembly with each one.

Your vids inspired me to get a Wizard X220S and Goggles, I just had to do it. I fly helicopters and also RC helis, gliders, planes... so i figure flying FPV with a drone will be natural, like flying a helicopter for real. Time will tell.
