Hey Kat! The colours on my B Hamorii are similar to yours, not as bright as in everyone of your guests' videos, so I'm glad I'm not the only one and I hope it will change with molting. Enjoy your new T! P.S.: I named my one Quinn, like the character from Dexter series ;)

It's a great species! It's what I initially wanted as my first tarantula but didn't end ul getting one back then. But I did get one last fall, and people aren't kidding when they say these guys are slow growing. Mine is less than an inch in legspan and was in premolt for a good 2-3 months. I'm excited to watch her develop her adult colors, right now she's just a generic looking nw terrestrial sling. My hamorii loves to flick hairs, I'm hoping she's gonna grow out of that eventually. Great video, I always love seeing sp. collab videos. i love how you get to see individuals of the same species at different ages!

My B. hamorii just molted about a week and a half ago. It had buried itself for close to 3 months. So I basically had a enclosure of dirt to look at for 3 months. Lol! But it was a completely different looking T afterwards and with quite noticable new size.

In the early 90s I worked at a high school. One of the science teachers asked me if I would take his Mexican Red Knee home for the summer as she looked pretty bad and he couldn’t bear to watch her die. I agreed. He had gotten her in Arizona and said she was probably 10 years old. He had her for 15 years. So she was an old lady. Her abdomen was super thin, her enclosure was full of crickets, alive and dead. His classroom was kept at 65 F. So I changed everything. I put her in a smaller tank, loose cork substrate, little water dish, and a small safe heat source in the top corner. Then I started feeding her one cricket at a time. (I knew very little about Ts and this was before internet.) Well, she began to eat, she hung around the heat light a lot, and she molted 3 times in just a few months! She didn’t die and her abdomen was nice and fat again, so I gave her back to her owner, pointing out the changes that I made. It was a great experience. And yep, she was a gentle soul.

Another great video Kat B. Hemorii is one of the T. Species I am thinking of getting for my first T. since I was in highschool I had a desert blonde I caught wild in Arizona I do have one thing that has me kinda worried am I going to turn into a crazy Tarantula person I watch all of these vids and I see all of you T. People start out small and the next thing I see is people with dozens of Ts is this like the crazy cat person syndrome and is there a cure? Just kidding but it does seem like a lays commercial you can't have just one
