Realize that the drop down “jacks” are not meant to jack up the camper or even it out..they are stabilizers, used to keep the camper from bouncing around when parked and to keep the bunk/bed ends from tipping over the camper, when weight is on the beds.

i noticed when you went to look at the underside you had a lot of exposed wood! you need a waterproof barrier to protect it from the elements when driving. all that water hitting the underside

I would paint the under side of the trailer, with a bed liner style paint.. That press board can't handle water....

Agreed or you could also use "waxoyl" which is normally used on the underside of cars and comes in a tin to paint or spray on. It will protect the wood from damp and most importantly keep it dry.

Seeing your mom's birthday celebration brought tears to my eyes because I lost my mom almost a year ago. She was 81 years old with parkinson's and them to mancia. And I know that I will never get to celebrate a birthday with my mother or get to tell her that I love her again and face-to-face but cherish those moments that we have with our elders for the fact that we are not here forever. We are only here temporarily. And we have to make the most of not just today , but right here and right now! Now that you have sealed up those cracks, there is fiberglass paint that is amazing! Very little prep is needed for it, but it would be wise to paint your entire roof and the lid for your "Brunk " lid. It will seal and water proof both of those. It works so well that you can basically roll it on with a paint roller. Set time is about 20 minutes and is completely dry in approximately 24 hours. You can paint a car with it and it looks almost brand new! Since you used the Gorilla tape seal, always remember... If you have to overlap the tape, start at the back and work to the front. That way the over lap will lay over the top of the last peice. Wind will drag over the top of that seam and can peel it back off the surface no matter how good of a product it may be. Good luck.

IT'S HERE IT'S HERE IT'S HERE THE NEW CAMPER IS HERE WOOHOO I was looking forward to seeing the new one. It is fantastic! We have a lot of these "Coleman" models in England too. I love going to a place where they sell campers, caravans (trailers in the USA) and campervans (or RVs). During the summer they have them all on display opened up and you can go inside and check them out. This one doesn't even look like it has been used much. I bet it smells nice inside (they always have a unique smell don't they haha). Also I love seeing the horses, they are beautiful animals. I go horse riding when I can with a friend and because I'm pretty tall (6ft4 and quite heavy) I usually ride "Ego" who is a gelded part shire. They are such calming animals to be around. You are really "living the life", Morgan! Congratulations on Patty Sue and I'll look forwards to seeing how much fun you have with her. Dan😃

First of all that thing is in cherry condition you got a good buy. Second, just FYI the roof and front hatch aren't fiberglass, they are actually made of ABS plastic and they will deteriorate from sunlight. If you can't store the camper in a garage then a high quality cover should be used to keep the exposure to sunlight to a minimum. There was a class action suit against coleman a decade or so back about these tops cracking and leaking. This is what happened to my '99 coleman Sante Fe with the ABS top. Another FYI, you can use a cordless drill with a deep socket attachment to raise and lower the top, I think it is a 3/4 or 7/8 inch socket. Or you can buy an aftermarket electric power lift for about $250.

I love Patty Sue already, darn that thing is a hotel on wheels. Great idea to do some double water proofing on the roof. Is it any heavier to tow compared to Bessie? Overall I’d say you got a great deal on this and I am sure it will help make your work trips way more comfortable and convenient. I loved the videography of the cross country stuff, great shots.

Agreed, gorilla tape is ok for the short term. A spray on bed liner sealer would work better for the long term. And be SUPER careful with the crack and weather sealer for your frunk, fix it fast. We had a pup (pop up, you'll learn the lingo) with a frunk that cracked and had bad water damage. Your pup is sooo sweet, you'll want to keep it that way. Be careful with winter and snow/ice when storing. And I love your photography! What a dream job!

I’m being nosy….what have you figured out for a toilet….there are many options! Love the camper and especially the fact you wanted it and made it happen….and love your excitement! Great job! You’ll learn what you need as you go along and have a blast and laughs doing it!

Take your sway bar off when parking. You can bend the balls it mounts too if you squeeze the wrong way. I had the next step Niagara of roughly same vintage. We camped in it for 9 years and had a blast. My child loved the outdoors. The roof has a long guarantee, and you may be able to get it replaced.

Just picked MonteReyElite, this month they are almost identical except that the insidelayout is a bit different bigger dinette , but doesn't have the second couch... And the elite part means you should have an electric pop-up motor and bed slide motors , havent been able to get mine to work but they are there.. it has already been bunled up for the winter so that will have to wait.

I would spray that OSB board underneath to protect it. Nice pop up tho. Sounds like an awesome deal.

The first thing that goes wrong are the haulsals so keep them lubricated (wires that raise the roof)

Gotta ask, is there a way to grease the hubs, bearings quickly without taking the whole wheel assy apart? i.e when you first buy a camper and before you leave from the seller?

What you did to seal the roof won't work. The ABS roof is what bankrupted the manufacturer. Before you get into greater trouble with it starting to separate from foam, you need to coat it with truck bed liner material, don't wait for it to get worse.

As a supervisor for a powder coating company, start spraying away from the surface and with a steady spray and one swipe all the way past the camper then lift your finger off the trigger, then start another swipe the other way all same direction then across, then a fog layer over the complete top. The 24 hrs is a cure time but read the paints manufacturer label maybe actually a week. Should tape off first

I got a steamer on FB for $20. They make hard work so easy. I would’ve got on the roof with it to clean the textured roof. If not that you can get 4 cleaning brush attachments for a handheld drill to clean with for $7.
