Hashtag United are a one-of-a-kind football and esports club, based in Essex, England. Formed in 2016 by Spencer Owen as a group of mates playing exhibition games, we now play in the 7th tier of English football, the Isthmian League Premier Division. We won our league in our first season in non-league football and were looking good for a second promotion when the 2019/20 season was voided, but after the 2020/21 season went the same way with us top of the Essex Senior League, we were eventually awarded promotion based on PPG over the two part seasons. In 2023 we won the Isthmian League North and will now play in the Isthmian Premier!
We merged with AFC Basildon Women in summer 2020 and formed our women's team, Hashtag United FC Women, who play in the 3rd tier of women's football, the FA Women's National League Southern Premier Division, after they also won their league in 2023. We also now have 40+ youth teams, reserve and development teams, an inclusive team and a walking football team...plus our esports team who play FIFA at the world's highest level. Man the Wingate goalkeeper played really well, first time I've seen a keeper at this level play sweeper the way he did, good passes and quick off the line. Fair play to him and gg all around.

Striz is a great shot stopper but my god someone tell him he can move out of the goal line, with our defenders strugling to win headers he should definetly start colecting some of the crosses, especially like the one that nearly came to a goal, it was so deep that he should have came out for it

League games are generally saturdays, unless they are rescheduled for later in the season if a cup gets in the way, any extra games like cup games not on the weekend or makeups are usually tuesdays I believe not as sure though, their Instagram page is a pretty good source to find out if a game has happened but maybe the video isn’t up on KZbin yet, just don’t check the stories, the regular posts just have opponents and starting lineups and their website has a long term schedule but it’s probably subject to change a little with cup involvements

Fought hard, wind seemed to be a big factor in the game, and what a save from the Keeper. Ref actually had a blinder of a game too, not simply because the decisions went our way, I just think they were the right ones. I’ll probably get stick for this. And I know there was nothing but genuine respect behind this, and I’m going to guess you even spoke to her before so maybe felt more of a personal connection. BUT… It maybe is a bit of unconscious sexism that throughout the match they called the referee “Joanne” and focused on her decisions a LOT more than any other referee I’ve seen ref a Hashtag United match. Like I said I know there’s nothing bad meant by it. But they don’t do it when the referee is a man and it kind of feeds in to the issue that women have to work that much harder to be treated with the same respect a man would get for their ability in a number of industries of which football is one of them. Again though, this is purely meant as a word to the wise. As it is pretty obvious the owners do a lot of work to support women’s football. *edit I’m guessing they’d clocked on to the same thing themselves without the need for me to say anything. Didn’t happen in the 2nd half.

To be honest mate, it's something Seb does every game he commentates regardless of gender of ref, it just doesn't always make the cut. Perhaps because Seb was lead commentator on this one, rather than co-comms like normal, it happened a bit more. For whatever reason he likes to refer to the ref by their first name, we just don't always know it. Always open to feedback though!
