Is there any thoughts to adding a bee hive or two to the re-wilding project? It would seem to help the ecosystem and help another endangered species to make a comeback.
@alexk7973
@alexk7973 11 ай бұрын
interestingly, honey bee numbers have never been as high as they currently are. There are some older domestic species that aren‘t as numerous, but mostly it‘s the wild type of bees that are struggling. They will benefit massively from all the rewilding currently done on the property. There are some kind of „insect hotel“ type nesting boxes on the market for wild bee types. But actually most wild bees are ground nesting and won‘t benefit from nesting boxes at all. Those will benefit more from the open spots of earth left by the pigs!

This rewilding project is remarkable. Seeing the beavers being busy calmed me right down ;) Have you thought of teaming up with a university or some biologists to help document and analyze the progress and the benefits? That might help to give other people the data they need to rewild, too.Thank you so much for doing this rewilding project and for this beautiful video.

I am so happy to see the earth returning to its ‘natural’ state! Your Rewilding Project reminds me of what happened at Yellowstone National Park when the Wolves were reintroduced there. It was devoid of vegetation due to the Deer and Elk eating it all, as their numbers dropped, the trees and other vegetation returned and it is show lush and green with many species returning to the Park. Your care of your land is making a big difference in our environment, Thank you!

I've had several ready replies to this video and may make more. I just had to stop at the horse segment and let you know how beautiful they are and how you treat them. Very beautiful! I do notice that some KZbin channels have a story about just one animal and I see that you have a family of horses that I think you can dedicate a channel to and let us and all interested see the stories of the horses! My % will be discussed later. LoL. But there is a huge horse following on KZbin... So, mayb?

You all have an incredibly interesting channel. As a business and corporate development executive in the U.S., I can tell you both that you are doing an excellent job marketing the estate. You still have a lot of room to grow your visitor count, especially tourists from the U.S.. You may already have a podcast available on Apple, Google, Spotify, Pandora, etc., but if you don't I suggest you get them going. All should point back to your your KZbin account (to increase view count). The content for the podcast will not create a lot of new work for you since you can choose to run an audio version of your KZbin programming. (Remember Twitter has a revenue platform as well) Lots of great opportunities for an estate like yours. You should have big profits in the future!

Your wilding project is so fascinating, aside from critical. Are you reaching out to spread the word into, say, the US where I live? (Highland IN, not far from Julie’s home). Does anyone here seem interested in what you’re doing? As something they would like to do as well? I hope so. So important. Thank you. AND did you expect you’d be doing all this in your life and are you loving it??

Is there a plan for fully integrating all the pasture and different animals? Or is this not possible because of existing roads? Is the fencing kept up for a while to get a handle on grasses, hoping to allow in other plants? I‘m just wondering as the system of rotating grazers seems counterintuitive to the idea of letting them choose where to graze and how long to stay in one area. Won‘t there still be a human-design element to the resulting plant development and density? From having read „Wilding“ by Knepp‘s Isabella Tree I understood that in their journey was entirely hands-off between the arrival of the species and the point in time of having to manage the head count. Are you trying out a different way?

Thanks for sharing these insights into the wonderful rewilding project. It's fascinating to see how the system all works. I wondered if you plan to farm the pigs and cattle or are will they live long happy lives. The beavers are certainly industrious. I assume the benefits they bring by creating habitat for other species offset the impacts of felling trees?
