@HealthCareers6 жыл бұрын
Hi Jimmy, thank you for contacting Health Careers. The entry requirements to become a radiographer are: To practice as a radiographer, you must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). In order to register with the HCPC, you first need to successfully complete an approved degree in radiography. Degree courses take three or four years, full time or up to six years part time. There are also postgraduate programmes usually taking up to two years. Courses cover anatomy, physiology and physics as well sociology, management, ethics and the practice and science of imaging. They all involve a lot of practical work with patients. To get onto a diagnostic radiography degree course you usually need two or three A levels, including physics, chemistry or biology/human biology, along with five GCSEs (grades A-C), including English language, maths and science. Please follow the link included to the Health Career website where you can browse through further information about starting a career as a radiographer: www.healthcareers.nhs.uk/explore-roles/allied-health-professionals/roles-allied-health-professions/diagnostic-radiographer Many Thanks, The Health Careers Team

I have selected to study radiography in my country but so many people are saying me that is not a good career because radiation exposure?they think radiographers may have to face cancers Is that correct?😶
@felicityaeh2 жыл бұрын
There are a lot of safety and monitoring procedures in place that protect radiographers. Lead screens, lead lined walls, machines being quality checked and tested, radiation badges (dosimeters) etc., all mean that radiographers can work in a way that limits their exposure to radiation.
