See, when I read that issue, I took Scourge crying as the fact that Jules called him out and broke down how pathetic he was in a matter of seconds and then pointed out that he couldn't do anything about because of what that verses Sonic would do if Scourge killed his father in retaliation. The Flynn Run version of Scourge was really intresting because it took an after thought of Pender's for a gag comic and broke it down and actually discussed the morality, psychology, ideology, and conept of the character. Showing not just what Scourge was but also what Sonic isn't by default.

Earth Prime was supposed to represent our world, with Superboy as its only superhero, apparently. Anyway, after the crisis ended and most of the multiverse destroyed, Superboy and some others lived in another dimension. But after seeing how the Post-Crisis Earth got progressively darker and edgier, they decided to bring back the multiverse, consequences be damned. It's a long story, but others can explain it better, such as Atop The Fourth Wall.

I always love this when it comes to evil multiversal twins. Whether if it's Negaduck to Darkwing Duck, Ultraman to Superman or Scourge to Sonic, when they realize that they are alone in a multiverse of "good versions"... You may not like the evil twin, but you can definitely understand why the realization that all your counterparts lead happier lives would feel like having a hammer constantly bashing down on your self-worth. Would you give up your individuality to try and become "part of the good guy club".. Or do you, in true villain fashion, double down and try to differentiate yourself further from the status quo? The realization that no matter how big or powerful you become, you'll never be able to displace the "good versions" that outnumber you... That's the kind of stuff I love to see when we deal with evil twins from mirror earths.

Or Lord Drakkon from Power Rangers! Drakkon is a pretty good example of this, it KILLED him to realize that in a multiverse of Tommy Olivers Who've been on the wrong path at some point, he's the only one who STAYED bad. Shattered Grid did a fantastic job of elaborating his outrage and pain over realizing that while every version of Tommy Oliver has been used for evil at some point, he's the only one who was really and truly evil, and he went on to murder two of his alternate selves!!!

One of the most interesting versions of that I've seen is the comic version of Owlman. He discovered that, while there are infinite Batmen, there is only ever one Owlman in the DC multiverse at any given time. And he REVELS in it. Because in his eyes, he isnt "Batman but evil", he's THE Evil Batman, the darkest reflection of the Dark Knight. He isn't the inferior knockoff. All other evil alternate Batmen are inferior knockoffs of HIM.

Scourge is pretty much a testament to the idea that even If real-world legal complications force the fictional world to change; some things are never truly forgotten; stand the test of time. But Scourge, despite all his prestige, all his arrogance and "support", still stands alone as a green blight in a cosmic sea of blue heroes.....or at least, used to. Now, he's on even ground. His world is gone. His allies are gone. Were it not for Rosy, he would be all alone again. He knows that there are vastly different iterations of the Sonic Universe out there. So few compared to what was known before. Reminds me of why I am gonna be a part of this fandom for years to come. It isn't often a fan film gets this much love and support, let alone a rating from the MPAA. Goes to show that Sonic has more appeal than ever before, and thousands of fans that can come together to make something truly memorable
