I found a few wild quail chicks that were left behind from their mom, luckily I found their mom and released them to her, they were incredibly small and super cute. :)

We just hatched 13 Buttons here 3 days ago! My partner has always wanted Quail and when I saw your shorts with the buttons I fell in love and he decided on getting some. I've never raised poultry of my own or even owned a bird before, but the absolute joy and laughs these little loves give me is immense. Their big stretches with legs straight out behind them, the way they bounce around and check each other out.. it's just priceless. They are so entertaining and sweet and I cannot wait to see how they grow. I already have a few favourites ❤ Update!: They're all fully mature and our hens are laying now. The favourites are still favourites haha. My best girl is the most well behaved, largest and fluffiest of the bunch with big beautiful Celadon eggs. I'm hoping to have some more like her. So this week I've collected over 30 eggs from our group and I'm going to incubate them to attempt our first home bred hatch. Super excited all over again 😍

Can confirm first hand on the heating lamps being dangerous haha. If yall do have to use a heating lamp rather than a pad for whatever reason, make sure to keep it off the bedding and that it has some sort of guard on the front of it.

On the heat lamps, usually it's because people use cheap clamp fixtures that fall with flammable materials below. Also infrared heats surfaces so it can ignite flammable materials if it's to close. As for water, usually placing rinsed aquarium gravel in the water dish can prevent drowning. Also you want to wear some sort of rubber gloves when handling chicks as the oil from your skin can kill them. I grew up raising chickens for 20+ years, never understood why the oil would kill them but witnessed it way too many times to doubt it anymore.

If I may, there are many options, either exclusive or inclusive that you can use: name generators online, create a manual list, create a Google doc of names to keep adding from KZbin comments, start a Google form to have people contribute there and it'll add to a spreadsheet automatically. Even further to increase engagement on your channel if you want to, start polls thru Google forms or KZbin posts or Twitter polls to name these cuties. We had quail in with the rest of our birds and occasionally they would breed. Then we’d see little balls of fluff running around the lawn so we’d catch them and put them and their parents in a smaller escape proof enclosure. They were so cute.

Since the last 4 are silvers, you could give them metal names. Cobalt, Copper, Zinc, Gold, Nickel, etc. Or metal names : Metallica, Slayer, AC/DC, Slipknot 😂
