Miles I mean it can be due to genetic inheritance, maybe both his parents carried alleles of phenotypes that involved stronger brain capability, memory or reactivity, or it could be due to his environment, like his mother actually did try really hard with teaching these kids, or something on tv or overheard conversations triggered their interest in academics, it may be something phylogenic, completely genetic, environmental or even a mutation but usually we like to refer to it as a gift, and yes that can also just be the answer, sometimes the simplest answers to the biggest questions and the correct ones.

That boy actually makes that statement void. there are a lot of different factors that go into development when a baby is growing as a fetus. If we break it down by race we already see that certain races are definitely more intelligent on average than others. White Europeans are smack dab in the middle certain tribes in Africa are on the low end of the spectrum and the Eastern Asians (Japanese) and certain Jews on the high end. of course this is the average and there are exceptions and different factors when it comes to individuals.
